Sausalito is a vacationer's paradise and our condo is perfectly located in the 'Banana Belt' minutes from town center, the Ferry to S.F., and Golden Gate Bridge. Awed visitors gaze at San Francisco Bay and tell us how fortunate we are to live here. We agree.
Our 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath condo unit(Apt # 1) is in a newly-restored townhouse with stunning views of the Bay, within walking distance of ferry to S.F. or 10 minutes by car to Golden Gate Bridge. Our unit is elegantly furnished with clear Bay views. Living room sofa converts to double bed. Master BR is extremely comfortable with down comforter and colorful cushions. Second BR has a convertible divan as well as an expensive mahogany desk and bookcase.
Large kitchen includes a 3-door Jenn-Air refrigerator, Viking range, Jenn-Air dishwasher, filtered water, and a granite counter. You control the heating and there is continuous hot water.
Enjoy Wi-Fi, 36' HDTV. IPod station and a DVD player. Splendid garden area for outdoor dining.
Nearby sights include Napa wine country (1 1/2 hrs North); Calistoga Spa and Art Center (2 hr drive); Stinson Beach (45' drive); Redwood Forest at Muir Woods (1 hr North);

Oh yes, if you're a reader, the Sausalito library offers books to purchase for $1 as well as daily copies of the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, and local Marin and SF papers.
My husband and I met when he rented my home in San Miguel de Allende Mexico (through VRBO). We met in 2006 and married in 2007. Now we split our time between Sausalito, NYC, and San Miguel. We love our homes and treasure our bicoastal and mountain living.
Gail Barnett purchased this condo in 2008
We bought in Sausalito so we could continue our lifestyles. We enjoy the cultural excitement of New York with the wonderful museums and theater, and a vibrant cultural life balanced by the natural beauty and serenity of Sausalito with all its wonderful hiking trails, water activities and quaint village feel, yet near to the urban pleasures of San Francisco, particularly the opera and ballet. Proximity to Napa Valley wine country as well as Carmel/Monterey is another plus.
We enjoy the natural beauty right outside our window with an exquisite view of San Francisco Bay including a spectacular view of the City. Right outside our door you can walk down some 100 steps that lead you to the heart of town with its art galleries, cafes, shops and unique boutiques.
My husband and I rented this wonderful property for a week during the renovation of our Sausalito home. It was everything the website pictures and description promised it would be - and more. It was clean, cozy and comfortable (the bed was amazing!). Everywhere we turned, it was beautifully appointed with careful attention to design details. And it had a REAL kitchen, with the tools we needed to prepare our meals. We especially loved having our dinner at the table by the bay window, looking out over the trees and the Bay. We happened to be there during the World Series and so appreciated the large TV (go Giants!). Best of all, this home provided us with the comfort and peace we needed as we faced the challenges of temporary living. Many thanks to the owner for sharing it.
We are Sausalito residents, not tourists, but for tourists it would be hard to beat. It is just a 5 minute walk to the heart of Sausalito - lots of shops and restaurants - and the Golden Gate Ferry.
We were looking for a place to stay in the Bay Area that offered the amenities of a condo away from the hustle/bustle of San Francisco, and this condo in Sausalito was perfect. It was very nicely furnished and decorated. The kitchen had very nice appliances which allowed us to cook in several times. There was a great master bedroom/bath for my wife and I, and a small office/bedroom with a foldout couch that was perfect for our teenage daughter. The guest bath for her was very nice with a huge walk-in shower. The view from the front window was wonderful, with the San Francisco skyline between the trees. The table at the window was a great place to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of a long day of sightseeing. And speaking of sightseeing, you are minutes away from all the activities in San Francisco via the Sausalito Ferry or driving across the Golden Gate Bridge. Also, Wine Country and Muir Woods Redwood Forest are a short drive away. We also ventured up to Stinson Beach and over to Tiburon, where we caught the ferry to Angel Island for some great hiking. Plus, the town of Sausalito had some great restaurants that were within easy walking distance (if you don't mind climbling back up a few hills). Overall, we felt like we really lucked out in finding this place and would love to return one day.
We loved our week at this condo! We called it the "tree house". The views were peek-a-boo through the trees and this gave such a calming and relaxing experience. The decor was perfect. We will come back! LaRae & Bill
