More beautiful and relaxing than staying at a motel. This is a lower level 600 sq ft efficiency in the lower walkout level of a private home overlooking a tidal marsh. There is a private entrance and patio with beautiful peaceful water and marsh views. This bright and tasteful, nautically decorated one bedroom apartment has a king size bed, full bath with shower. Bring your binoculars to view the abundant marsh wildlife, and bring your bikes for riding and picnicking along the Cape Cod canal.
This property is located within an easy walk (1/5 of a mile) to a bay-side ocean beach, the famous boardwalk, and historic downtown Sandwich. Sandwich has plenty of shopping, antique shops, museums, and many local restaurants (several within walking distance).
The unit was dirty when I arrived - it appeared not to have been cleaned between rentals. The bathroom sink was dirty, the refrigerator was dirty, the shower had black hair in it and the sheets had black hair all over them. The beach is also not 1/5 a mile away - I measured it - it's 4/10 of a mile. It is a very cute unit but I was insulted to think the owner thought it was OK to leave someone else's dirt behind for me to live in. I paid the owner directly - next time I would rent a unit where you pay VRBO or Homeaway directly so you have some recourse.
Husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend here and we couldn't have picked a better place. It was relaxing, quiet and the view was to die for. The room was so comfy, cozy and clean. We were very comfortable. The beach, the salt marsh and several good eateries were all within walking distance, and we walked a lot! Nancy was an awesome host. We loved the backyard...it was great for just sitting and bird-watching. Husband said watching the train run by in the distance at night was "magical." Thank you again, Nancy!
- wonderful location on the upper Cape. Great for making day trips, or for just staying in place and enjoying Sandwich.
- great accommodation for two: spacious studio, comfortable king-size bed, refreshing shower, relaxing patio with picture-book view of the marsh and creek past the lovely garden.
- Everything a guest could want has been accommodated: bottle of wine, coffee and fixings, snacks, guide books, towels and toiletries...
- quiet and private, a lovely retreat in a peaceful setting.
- Owners Dan and Nancy are friendly and accommodating.
- Nancy knows the Cape intimately and can provide information for any outing you may contemplate.
After some searching for a last minute bolt to Cape Cod, we found this wonderful studio. Close enough to enjoy day trips to Boston and area, yet remote enough to be disconnected from daily routines
Dan and Nancy are wonderful hosts, and made us very welcome. The ever changing views of the Sandwich salt marsh were a daily pleasure and even with poor weather, our spirits weren't dampened in the least.
The way that the studio is staged with different living areas makes it feel like so much more than a place to lay your head.
Excellent location, great amenities, and outstanding hosts make this a come-back spot for us.
We will return again.
We have been many times in the Cape but never was so good
A nice house in a cozy neighborhood near an Historical city.
We spend 12 days, we can go walking to the beach ( only few blocks).
It Is near Sandwich down town, we went walking in few minutes.
A lot of food shops near, Delis and restaurants for see food.
It is in a perfect location to go to any place in the cape, and not so long if you want to spend a day in Boston.
Nancy an Dan are a charming couple, they are ready to help you and give smart information about the zone.
We cant ask for more!
Thanks!! We hope to see you again in 2015.

Prior to arriving for our week in Sandwich, we read the reviews for this beautiful studio apartment. I thought that some of the reviewers MUST have been exaggerating. Well, they weren't! It's true-this is a absolutely wonderful place: big comfortable bed, clean, decorated beautifully, lovely view of the garden and ever changing marsh and its wildlife. Nancy and Dan have thought of every detail for their guest's comfort and enjoyment of the Cape. They are so welcoming ( as are their adorable little pups,) but respectful of your privacy. Perfect for a couple and close to everywhere you might want to go. A short walk to the beach and town, lovely drive to all the areas on the Cape but also close enough to Boston and it's attractions. Book now! You will be glad you did.
Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod. It is located on both sides of the Cape Cod Canal with the majority of its land mass on the southerly side. Sandwich beaches stretch for miles along Cape Cod Bay and provide a wonderful view on a clear day of the many vessels that pass through and near the Cape Cod Canal. Commercial fishermen and lobster men can be seen daily from the docks at the Sandwich Marina, the only harbor along the canal. Historic Sandwich Village which is a renowned tourist destination provides many glimpses into New England's rich colonial history. Visit the Hoxie House (the oldest house on Cape Cod), the Dexter Grist Mill, Heritage Plantation, the Thornton Burgess Museum, the Sandwich Glass Museum, and more. A jewel of this area is a seven mile barrier beach, Sandy Neck. If you are lucky enough to have a four wheel drive (with permit) you can drive out and enjoy the beautiful sand dunes.
