Yellowstone Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8) double your living space option

Yellowstone's Top of the World features spectacular views of the Centennial Range, Sawtell Mountain, Henry's Lake, Meadow Creek Valley, and the Yellowstone Plateau. This precious home offers you all of the modern amenities while still treating you to a quiet and serene experience. Located on acres of trees and flowering meadows and surrounded by the Targhee National Forest, the Yellowstone's Top of the World's balcony and multitier viewing are perfect to observe the frequent wildlife and dazzling sunsets.

Each day one is able to choose any of the numerous nearby outdoor activities or picnic in Yellowstone National Park which is only minutes away. In less than two hours you are able to visit Grand Targhee Ski Resort, Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, St. Anthony's sand dunes, Virginia City, or Big Sky.

Of particular interest are the hundreds of miles of bike and snow mobile trails that begin at your back door and the world class fishing found on Henry's Lake and the Snake River.

This property (as seen in the last photo) shares two separate homes, referred to as the lower level and the upper level. The lower level home is featured in this VRBO listing. Only one group of guests rent the property at a time. The owners (Pam and Dr. John) sometimes occupy the upper level home between June 10 and August 15 while they maintain and improve the grounds and ensure that everything is perfect for our guests. Pam and I are onsite to cater to the needs of our guests. Some of the larger groups choose to rent both levels to double the living area to 3000 sf. Photos 1-19 show the lower level and photos 20-23 depict the upper level. During a typical year, about 30% of our guests rent the whole property and the other 70% are perfectly happy with the lower level. The downstairs has its own private entry, perfectly flat, and exclusive use of all the facilities, hot tub, patio, fire ring terrace, grill, dining and picnic tables. Guests in the downstairs home feel as if they own the mountain. We assure you that this is the most exclusive setting you can find. There may be a couple of mountain properties near Jackson for double the price. Refer to the reviews to see what our previous guests think of the Top of the World.

Why Pam and John Stanford chose Yellowstone

Our Yellowstone cabin is a top of the world experience. It is the best place to be during North America's warm summer months.

What makes this cabin unique

We can enjoy Yellowstone Park which is only 12 miles away without dealing with the asphalt traffic and hustle and bustle of accommodations in town. From our lodge we enjoy unobstructed views of the sunsets, the Tetons, centennial range, Henry's Lake, Snake River Valley, wildlife in our front yard, world class fishing, rodeos, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, river-rafting, hundreds of miles of ATV trails, Yellowstone Park and wilderness touring. There's a great deal of enjoyment and fun being out west on top of a mountain. We have the perfect climate and the ultimate outdoor adventure for people of all ages. There is never a dull moment.

We had a wonderful time during our trip to Yellowstone and our stay at "On Top of the World." I had originally considered staying in the town of West Yellowstone to be closer to the park, but the extra 20 minute drive was well worth it! We had a stunning view and our own little piece of the mountain. The accommodations were clean and lovely. The house had absolutely everything we would need, and Pam and John were great offering advice and checking in to see if we needed anything. The hot tub was absolutely perfect after a long day of hiking and the peacefulness of the mountain was priceless. I highly recommend this property!

Absolutely fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights and it was perfect for my family and I. The location is just a short drive outside of the west entrance of yellowstone. It was great especially the hot tub, fire pit, full kitchen and laundry. Pam and Doc John were very kind and helpful. We will be back. After a full day in the park it's a relaxing place to come back to.

2nd review

  • 5 of 5

I feel I need to add something to my first review. I can't give the place 5 stars because of the road ( didn't scare me as I have done off-roading for a hobby as stated in previous review just concern for rental car agreement ) but it doesn't warrant a whole star knocking off either if I could have given 4 and a half I would have. Apologise to Jon and Palm for my previous 4 stars as they were nice people and excellent hosts. If you book this you won't regret it

Amazing views!

  • 4 of 5

Amazing views sums this place up. Lovely house with all mod cons and helpful friendly owners. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the access road to the house. It's is very steep and very rough. It concerned me as I know for a fact if our vehicle (4x4 luckily as i would say 4x4 needed ) had got damaged or had a punctured tyre it would have been on my head and hire agreement would have been void . To be fair some work was being carried out on the approach road when we left. Other than that stunning place , amazing views and good location sums it up. trust me when I say don't let the road put you off as the views are worth it thanks

Owner's Response: We appreciate this guest's comment on our road so that we can assure our future guests of the ultimate safety of your 5 minute trip up the hill. First of all, in over 50 years there has never been a driving incident on this solid road. Secondly, none of the roughly 200 guest vehicles that have repeatedly gone up and down the mountain have suffered a blowout or flat. Odds are, glass, nails, debris, or careless drivers on your typical freeway will cause the damage. Please do not drop the rating of a property just because your are fearful of driving on an unpaved road. Dear future guests, read the previous review again a more accurate assessment of the Top of the World Yellowstone Cabin.

Awesome beauty and fine hosts

  • 5 of 5

If show-stopping views of an expansive valley & distant lake from a perch high on a mountain is your thing, then look no further. This property has views to spare! Not to mention the many amenities - great BBQ, modern, clean, comfortable, private digs to relax and unwind after a long day in YNP - a mere 20 min or so distant. Oh, did I mention they maintain a private hot tub for their guests and, being at the top of a mountain, the temps are definitely favorable for a soak at the end of the day? And the hosts - both Pam and John are gregarious, warm, friendly folks who love to engage in a conversation on a wide variety of topics and can give you the 411 on the park and surroundings. Having them on-site is a huge plus, as they readily ensure that their guests aren't wanting for anything. Hotels are just so 20th century, esp. when you can rent a high end property such as theirs for a steal. Lastly, do not be intimidated by the drive up the mountain. Take it slowly and it's a breeze. Too many reviewers sound psyched out by the drive up. I can tell you, as a guy who's skittish about climbing a ladder to the second floor - this is no big deal. Consider it part of the adventure and run, don't walk, to this property. That is, unless you prefer a sea level adventure; in which case, why are you heading to Yellowstone to begin with? Yeah, Pam and John's place is the real deal.

Owner's Response: "Take it slow, and its a breeze" Our sentiments exactly. Where we really get nervous is when we have to drive on any big city freeway with cars doing 70+ and only 2 feet separating the traffic. Mark, hope to host you and your friends again.
