We enjoy the hot tub after a swim, playing in the garden or hiking at nearby Seven Bridges.
We also enjoyed our time here. the location is great and our little 2 and a half year old girl enjoyed the day trips to the beach and shaded playground in downtown Elk Rapids, Castle Farms in Charlevoix and Raven Hill Discovery Center in East Jordan. Thank you for providing all the literature about the region which helped us plan our trips.
The house is very nice and we felt right at home.
We enjoyed our stay in this charmingly updated, comfortable cottage. The home is easily located, which was a nice feature when returning at night as we could readily locate the home near the intersection of a couple of roads. An extra-deep attached garage is nice for securing your vehicle and with room enough to open the lift-gate of our SUV we were conveniently able to unload our luggage in the closed garage. The home is spacious and well-appointed with a high-quality television including cable and a DVD player. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms provide plenty of space with a sizeable walk-in shower and convenient washer & dryer (we were especially pleased there was no rust in the water which is a common annoyance in some homes). A lovely dock directly across the street provided convenient access to the Rapid River, with our kayaks it was a short paddle to the crystal blue waters of Torch River leading into Torch Lake - a paddle that takes roughly 30 - 40 minutes. The hot tub was a wonderful relaxation after an invigorating day on the water. Overall we were impressed with the cleanliness and comforts of this charming cottage.
We were VERY impressed with & thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home! It was as nice & clean, etc. as the reviews said & the pictures showed! The idea of queen sz. bunk beds is great as that can accommodate 4 people instead of 2. It was easy to find (although we are familiar w/ area) - location & pictures described it very accurately! Everything was in place when we arrived - VERY CLEAN (our granddaughter said the bathroom smelled like a "pool"! - nice!) & hot tub perfect temp. as it was cool when we got there! Such nice amenities for the cost!! Linens very nice & clean & plenty of them! The owner, Mike, was so pleasant & courteous & answered us quickly regarding just one "issue" we needed to ask about. It was nice, too, since it was cool that we were able to sit around the firepit & and also the "chimney fireplace" on patio. Sitting by the stream/river was sooo peaceful & serene - enjoyed the kayak too! Also, nice that it's set up for a handicapped person w/ ramp up front & wide door & step in shower in 1 of the bathrooms. All in all - a great place for a vacation! To us there is NO OTHER lake as beautiful as Torch - takes our breath away every time we see it! Boating on it is awesome & there are several small beaches close by! We returned to a few of our favorite eating places like Torch Riviera - Alden Bar (great burgers!) & Pearl's in Elk Rapids. We have always enjoyed walking around & shopping in both towns of Alden & Elk Rapids! We would definitely recommend this place & would love staying there again!!!
I stayed at this cottage/house with my family (2 adults, 2 kids under 11). Upon our arrival, the house was SPOTLESS. If you are looking for a clean vacation rental near Torch Lake, this is it! Pretty much all of the comforts of home were provided here. There are three bedrooms (2 w/Queen, 1 with a Queen bunks!). There's also an air mattress if you're really squeezing in the group. I would say this would comfortably fit two families of four. The hot tub was also very clean. Across the street there is a kayak off of the dock for your use. The river is very shallow though -- it was only up to my kids' ankles in parts, so kayaking wasn't something we did much of while we were here. Linens are all provided and are all very clean. You will honestly feel like you're staying in a hotel. We didn't have any problems while staying here, but the owner was just a quick email/phone call away and is very responsive. There is also a computer in the house if you need to look up directions or places to go. I would rent this property again if we vacation in this area again.
Napping in the hammock, watching the sun set down the river, feeding ducks, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit... This cottage and its amenities provided the best in comforts for a most enjoyable stay. Remodeled and super clean, it just feels so cozy and homey. Heated bathroom floor was a nice crisp morning surprise. Have stayed here in the Spring and Fall, excellent experience both times, would go back anytime of year!
We have come to your cottage in years past and are so looking forward to our time there this year. The surroundings are just so beautiful and one of my favorite places to be. Your cottage is so pretty, clean and up-to-date with all the conveniences of home. Wonderful for when my family comes to visit. There is something for everyone to enjoy!
My family enjoyed our stay at this super clean house near Torch Lake. Born in Michigan and living in San Diego now, our family wanted to explore all of the best that Northwestern Michigan had to offer and this house offered a perfect location for our stay. We had one small issue and the owner Michael resolved it very quickly to my satisfaction.
I would recommend this house to any family and we loved the fact it was clean inside, nicely upgraded and the like new washer dryer really came in very handy while we enjoyed the beautiful Michigan lakes. If you love golf, don't miss Shanty Creek, which is less than 30 minutes away, I played The Legend course and it was awesome.
Less than 1 mile to Torch Lake Sandbar!
