About Laura Ferrary

Laura and Richard have been managing residential and commercial property for 15 years but only recently finished renovation of this home for vacation rental. In the summer of 2009 they are opening a bed and breakfast in their three story Victorian home in downtown Albuquerque called the “Bella Roma”. Laura and Richard share the Bella Roma with her mother, Elaine, a James Joyce scholar who sponsors reading groups on Wednesday evenings and their dog Arlo, who loves visitors. In addition, Laura and Richard own and manage Smart Use, LLC, a water conservation consulting company. They try to make every property as green as possible with Energy Star appliances, efficient heating and cooling, recycling and use of green household products.

Laura Ferrary purchased this house in 2003

Why Laura Ferrary chose Albuquerque

This house was built in the 1920's and when we found it in very poor condition. Depsite this, we could see the original beauty and charm, and have renovated it with the orignal hardwood floors, beautiful wood finishing around the windows and door frames and the built-in cabinets in the living and dining rooms. Almost everything else is new - plumbing, electrical, stucco, roof, heating/cooling, appliances and 2nd floor master suite. The location also appealed because it's close to downtown, Old Town, and so many things to do.

What makes this house unique

We live only a mile or so away and love the neighborhood near downtown and Old Town. Lots of good restaurants, near one of the largest stadium seating theatres in town, close to the zoo, museums, university, and all the sports complexes. It's also close to the airport. We love old houses and old neighborhoods and like restoring them to keep the old charm but add the modern features and conveniences.

Beautiful place - thank you!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house while we were in town for a wedding/family reunion and it was absolutely perfect. Within walking distance to so many things. We had family staying at other houses in the area and they all mentioned that they will try to book this house next time they come to Albuquerque. The house is very well furnished and has everything you would need. Thank you very much, we will be back!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Richard and Laura have created a great place to stay. The house was very clean upon our arrival, the kitchen was appointed with anything you could need and beautiful appliances, the back deck was a relaxing place to sit, and the location was convenient to the sightseeing destinations we visited.

Comfortable and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

What a nice house, so well cared for, comfortable, and relaxing. We really enjoyed having such a modern, full kitchen and washer and dryer available. I even baked GF cookies with our granddaughter during her visit. It was awesome watching the Winter Olympics and the final episodes of Downton Abbey on the big screen and Direct TV. Richard and Laura were very considerate and responsive to any of our requests or suggestions during our month long stay.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable place to kick about Albaqueque, close to everything. Loved having sugar creamer and coffee waiting for us. Better than a bare timeshare. Very clean and updated. Glad you had a fan in the downstairs bedroom, can't hardly sleep without one!!!

Took a nice walk a couple of morning for breakfast at Garcia's Kitchen(great area to get out walk and see some sights, close to old town and downtown.) Made an evening walk to visit the Kimo theater. Thanks Y'all we will stay again!

Girls getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay for a girls getaway! We were able to walk to some fantastic local restaurants and even the farmers market. We were able to experience the community but were also right off the freeway to day trip to Sante Fe, Chimyo and Ojo Caliente. But most of all it was the perfect location for the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Very pleased with the accommodations.
