Beautiful sunrises. Relax in spa jet tub. Cozy fireplace for chilly evenings.
Staying at this hidden gem in the north woods. Comfortable log bed. We are here to visit my grandparents. They came over last night and we had a nice visit in the living room. Tomorrow doing some sightseeing and shopping.i'm going to hate to leave.
The cabin looks just like in the photos and we easily fit our family of 5. The bathroom was roomy, clean, and nice. The sheets and towels were clean. We loved the back yard with the fire pit and the private beach area for the kids. We didn't except the road to be literally right next to the cabin (as in read people's GPS screens if you look out the bathroom window) but, if you tune out the road noise, it is a great property. We slept with the skylight open, which was wonderful but probably added to the road noise. The ad said there would be a cot for an additional person, there was not. Our 16-year old had to sleep in the recliner (which was very nice but not as nice for spending an entire night in). A cot was provided the next day after email contact. We did not have a phone number for the owner and had to google her when an emergency came up, luckily we found a number that worked. Wi-Fi was a plus as cell phone coverage is sparse in the area. The cabin does need to be cleaned more thoroughly - there was a layer of dust/dirt in many areas and the kitchen cabinets were very dirty - we cleaned everything before using. On the other hand, the kitchen was nicely stocked in terms of electrical appliances. We brought our own waffle maker. There was a nice fridge/freezer in the bedroom. The location is perfect for visiting several attractions: 1h to Porcupine, 1.5h to Cooper Harbor, and 1.5h to Marquette.
We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and we're welcomed by Superiors waves lapping the picturesque shoreline. The parking was ample and pine tree laden drive seemed to whisper "Welcome" as we unloaded our vehicle and let our two dogs (which were welcome at Little Bear) out for a stretch.
The evening spent on Superior's shoreline and in the cloudlike bed Little Bear provides, prepared us for our remaining weekend traveling the beautiful Keweenaw peninsula. The easy on, easy off access to Hwy 41 cannot be topped! Rent the Little Bear today!
The old log cabin looks nice, on the inside and out, and has a lot of good amenities and character. The furniture is comfortable, and the big bathroom with whirlpool tub is a bonus. It's a wooded private lot with a lot of shoreline, and a pretty view. There were plenty of towels, dinnerware, soaps, etc. The Drive In across the road was easy to get to, and the food was good. Internet access was a little slow, and the cable channels and reception are limited (but you shouldn't be there for those things anyway). We brought our dogs on the trip, and it was a great space for them. You will see in other reviews online, as well as reading the guest journal in the cabin, that the traffic noise is very noticeable. The skylight above the bed acted as a megaphone for the traffic noise and we couldn't keep it open at night. All in all, a nice place, and we're glad we visited.
Adorable, rustic lil cabin. Owner accommodating. Everything you need was provided. We felt very relaxed and right at home. Enjoyed the view and the crisp, refreshing water of Lake Superior. Even the morning sunrise. The a/c was much appreciated!
Highway is very close but didn't take away from us enjoying our stay. Would come back again.
Little Bear Cabin is a true slice of heaven. We spent three wonderful nights and enjoyed the charming, cozy cabin which offers wifi, satellite television, a nicely-stocked kitchenette, full (and very clean!) bathroom... wonderful amenities!
We awoke each morning to magical sunrises, swam in the crystal clear water with our dog, enjoyed the beautiful view of L'Anse Bay and ushered in evening dusk to the sound of loons. What could be better? We can't think of much.
It was really perfect. Thank you, Lynn. We can't wait to come back.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much! The lake is beautiful and being on highway 41 was convenient but a little noisy on the weekend.
