Beautiful sunrises. Relax in spa jet tub. Cozy fireplace for chilly evenings.
Stayed at Little Bear. very good value for the low cost of the cabin. the least expensive we found. nice location all towels and linens were provided. all paper products were provided and included in the price. we just had to show up.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It is a little slice of heaven tucked into the bay! The authentic log cabin was great. The morning views of the bay while walking on the sand enjoying coffee were spectacular! (Even in November!) Even the dog enjoyed the water! Well worth the trip! Perfectly located if you want to check out the Western part of the U.P. Would definitely stay again!
This is a cabin built for 2. We loved our stay, but felt that with 4 people (2 adults, 2 active boys), it was a bit tight and didn't work well for us. That said, the cabin was very cute and quaint. It was a bit hard to find at night, but other than that, our stay was nice.
We were very fortunate to have found this quaint little cabin just a stones throw ( well maybe a half hour) away from Houghton and Michigan Technological University. Our college freshman was very happy to see us and he thoroughly enjoyed the spa like bath including a rain shower head and Jacuzzi tub. Prior posts had mentioned dust and I have to wonder if they realize that this is a cabin in the woods. We found our every need was met and we highly recommend the drive in across the street. It is my hope that we will be able to arrange another stay in the near future. I highly recommend this Baraga jewel:)
The overall upkeep of the cabin is lacking. It was not clean. The overabundant knickknacks were dusty and full of cobwebs. There is rotting on the exterior cabin logs. The property was un kept. The grass was long with 4 inch tall mushrooms everywhere. If you have allergies, steer clear. I loved the fireplace. The whirlpool tub was awesome, but it leaks and the floor was spongy and reeked of mildew smell from the moisture. This could be such an adorable cabin with great potential, but the obvious neglect made the experience lack luster and not worth the price paid per night. Pride needs to be found by the owner of this place. Some hard work is necessary before it falls into total disrepair...
We were very happy with our stay and would not hesitate to come here again. Yes the cabin is close to the road, but so well hidden that our friends and family that live in the area had no idea it was even there! There was quite a bit of dust around the cabin, which is expected because the gound outside is sandy and it is a log cabin not the Bellagio. We swept several times and were happy to do so in the hopes that we left it better than when we arrived for the next guests. We were very happy with our stay and recommend Little Bear Cabin to anyone wanting a rustic experience close to modern conveniences.
We enjoyed our stay at Little Bear cabin. It's quite rustic and with just enough essentials to make the stay easy and cozy. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi, a lovely quirky treat of the cabin. We enjoyed the gentle bay in our back yard, being able to sit in sun and water simultaneously was fun. Grilling each evening and sitting in the mosquito netted canopy was great. We went out to photograph the full moon and next day's sunrise across the lake above L'Anse. We had very much fun at Little Bear Cabin.
