Charming farm house away from the hustle and bustle. My husband and I had a quiet weekend it was wonderful. Lots of hikes in the woods. We will definitely be coming back soon with the kids. Mr. Colbert was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
We have stayed at hotels, motels, cabins, and trailers while visiting my son at Juniata college but none of our stays compared to our stay at the farmhouse. I wish we knew about this gem of a rental before. The farm was clean, spacious, warm and had everything and more in household needs that you could think of. The sunroom/observation room was a treat. Our first night we saw a black bear in the back woods. We also saw porcupines, deer, racoons, and bunnies in the back woods on the following nights. Our dog was in Springer Spaniel heaven jumping in and out of the babbling fresh water Creek next to the property. I would like to come back for a full week to get more hiking in at the state land that border the property.
My family of 5 just returned from staying at this charming farmhouse for 4 nights. It is stocked with everything you need--and then some! It is great having room enough for all of us to spread out, unlike in a hotel room. It is close enough to area attractions, but then you can come back to the house and relax after being out for the day. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire at night. The sun room was very spacious and offers a wonderful view of the feeding area for the wildlife. Harold was very helpful in answering our questions about things to do in the area and is a very nice gentleman.
we had a nice time the house was roomy loved seeing the bears out back and deer house has everything you need and more if you are looking for a peaceful place with lots of wildlife this is it not much to do but relax unless you drive 20 minutes great for hiking our dog enjoyed being able to run around the yard as we played horseshoes lots of games and puzzle provided kids loved the sandbox thank you for a lovely stay looking forward to coming back again
My family of 6 stay here and we had a very relaxing time.
Very seclude and private. The only small issue was, which for me whats not an issue at all. But my twin boys 9, didn't like 1960 model TV they had at the house.
Other than that kids and mom had a nice time.
We loved our stay at the farmhouse - it is full of character. The upstairs bedrooms are very pretty and spacious. The kitchen is full of old-time charm, and the living room with the TV is small and cozy. The sunroom is awesome - spacious, bright, with view of woods. Harold also keeps the property outside well-maintained. We sat around the campfire in the evening, hiked in the nearby woods in the daytime, and just relaxed. Our 2 dogs had a blast running around the big yard. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're actually not too far of the beaten path. We will be going back often! Hopefully when there's snow. Great value for the money.
