Secluded functional and quiet log cabin

  • 4 of 5

This cabin suited our family of four very well for a January ski vacation. The location is about 15 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and the Appalachian Ski Mountain. We had plenty of room in the cabin however it does need a thorough cleaning. Excessive dust is present under the beds, furniture and on the ceiling fans and walls. In addition we soon became accustomed to the harmless ladybugs and stink bugs that frequent mountain cabins during the winter months. My kids were happy to have free WiFi and Dish TV but I was a little disappointed by the two small CRT TV sets. Overall this cabin offers good value and convenient location.

Tucked away tranquility!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at your cabin. Thank you for allowing us to visit. We found the cabin to be very clean and perfect for our family Christmas tree choose and cut tradition. The cabin was very cozy. Our toddler enjoyed her freedom on the screened in porch while we sipped hot chocolate and relaxed listening to the wildlife. Perfect stay. The only negative, is that we had to return home :(. Will definitely visit again soon.

Great cabin, good location, very helpful and accommodating owners.

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was great - good size, comfortable accommodations. Cooked holiday meal there easily and comfortably. Location was good - quiet, but close enough to town to go on excursions. Owners were wonderful and in fact helped us out when we had car trouble. Would definitely recommend!

Enjoyable Seclusion

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed your cabin. The lay out of the cabin and seclusion was great. Everything was provided that any one would need. We loved sitting on the back screened in porch and listening to the sounds of nature. The location to Blowing Rock is so convenient but I would highly recommend 4 wheel drive anytime of year mostly for the lane and driveway to the cabin (and we are used to driving mountain roads). Thank you Kirsten and Blake for sharing your home with us.

A wonderful cabin in a very good location.

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a wonderful time. The cabin in lovely and just what I was picturing. The back porch was perfect for mornings and evenings. A couple nights were cool enough to use the wood burning stove and my wife enjoyed the fire. The location is great for getting to Boone and Blowing Rock. We do recommend using the upstairs bed unless you like a very firm bed that is in the downstairs bedroom. My plan was to use this to show my wife a cabin and the mountains as a possibility for retirement and it was perfect for doing that. You will enjoy this cabin if you are looking for a family experience in the mountains!

GIrls Road Trip/ Mom & 2 daughters

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cabin for a girls get away, the cabin was as described and we found it spotless and ready for us with everything we needed..We settled in quickly and enjoyed out first evening on the deck, as we were escaping the heat of Florida, Georgia and Virgina. The mountain view and location are awesome. For sure mountain roads driving, The upper drive way was a bit of a challenge for this flatlander Floridan, but my daughter was great and was the chosen driver while there. We decided that the lower drive way was best for us. If I were to suggest anything it would be to have a sign on the tree with the cabin number and making you aware of the lower driveway and pull off area.
