Iva's Vineyard Cottage and Garden house

Perfectly situated in the vineyard gateway of the town of Sonoma, Iva's Cottage and Garden House offer a charming bungalow cottage perfect for two, three or four traveling together. The House can accommodate an additional 4 to 8 adults.

The location is half-way between town, and many of Sonoma's finest wineries, Viansa, Jacuzzi, Cline, Schug and Gloria Ferrer, and Rams Gate just to name a few. The cottage is set back from the main road and is part of a larger, historic family farm and Vineyard.

While the cottage is vintage, it is completely redone, renovation completed in 2009. New kitchen and appliances with granite counters and a very large travertine tiled shower are all part of the new design. The house was redone this year with tile floor in kitchen and wood flooring throughout. A fireplace in the dining room and wood stove in the master bedroom.

As a part of this cottage and house package, a private tasting of premium wine at two of the local wineries are included in the rate. Take advantage of being the 'neighbor' and enjoy Sonoma at it's best.

'It's hard to find vintage charm mixed with modern conveniences and Iva's does it well. Plenty of character with none of the funk - I love this cottage. Window views are green, and there are two different outdoor sitting areas not mentioned in the main description. The gardens are beautiful and lush great for an outdoor gathering. Ask about the availability for wedding and reception dinners.

Iva's is sweet, up to date, and has every amenity one would need for the weekend, a week long getaway or that special event. Come stay with us!

Guestbook comments from the owner

My son and I left our home at 6am on the 14th. At 6:30pm we arrived at your cottage. Travel weary we opened the door to all the lights on, TV with music, fresh flowers, bottle of wine, How wonderful! The week went so quickly-every night coming "home" to the cottage. The beds were wonderful, the kitchen was great. Today is our last day and I feel sad-I want to stay! We hope we can come again. Thank you so much.

A wonderful stay at Iva's Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Iva's Cottage was a splendid delight. My family and I spent five wonderful days touring the Sonoma and Napa Valley's. The cottage was a great central location for all our activities ie, wine tasting at several locations, strolling the Sonoma Plaza shopping, Train Town with the kids and even a trip to San Francisco sightseeing. Inside and out, the cottage was clean, fresh and beautifully maintained. It was everything they described on their website. Our family highly recommends Iva's Cottage and we've already booked our next stay.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We rented both the house and cottage and they were roomy for 9, the beds are amazing, the kitchens spacious. The grounds were perfect. To bad it was too chilly for us to be out in their patio area with seating for 20 or more. They even have their own little redwood forest (3) but it's still amazing. Owners were responsive with help on places to go and see. Highly recommend staying here.

Iva's Cottages

  • 3 of 5

Cottages were very affordable. I was disappoint with the up keep. It was pretty dirty. Spiderwebs on bathroom walls. A pumice stone would clean up the ring around the toliets. Would of been nice if patio furniture was hosed off so we could use it. I understand we have a drought but someone could at least pull the weeds in the flower beds. These cabins could be so nice if someone cared enough to keep them up.

Owner's Response: I am disheartened to hear that you think we do not "care" about our houses; this property has been in the family for three generations and we take great pride in it. I was never contacted by any guest regarding any perceived deficiency; if I had been I would have been happy to correct it immediately. The houses are cleaned professionally after every stay; we would have happily brought them back to correct any issues of spider webs. As noted we are in a drought and have done our part to limit our water uses and some of our plants unfortunately have suffered. We do have several acres of vineyard on the property sometimes this can cause dust to accumulate on outdoor furniture. I appreciate you bringing these potential issues to our attention, I cannot correct issues from an unidentified guest, if I am notified in an anonymous review after the fact, rather than a phone call, text or email at the time. Our houses and guest are very important to us and we do everything we can to make their stay the very best possible.

Great place to stay with multi-generation family

  • 4 of 5

The cottages are quaint and surprisingly roomy. The bedrooms in the house were large, accommodating two cribs for my baby grandsons along with queen size bed for parents. And having two separate 'homes' was great for much needed quiet times. Owner is very responsive, helpful and a joy to work with - Kudos!

Only disappointment was fact that house was pretty close to Hwy 12 ... good access but a little road noise for one bedroom - tolerable.

Just like home away from home....

  • 4 of 5

Very comfortable and well furnished throughout. A great place for family to share and unwind - we were on the road for a week and needed to spread out a bit!

Really appreciated the well stocked kitchen and pantry. Loved the diner across the road - great ribs and hospitality.

Comfortably out of town and yet not too far away either. Just a little too close to the road and heard some noisy cars, trucks and bikes as they take off from the nearby intersection.

Great Sonoma house!

  • 5 of 5

I would absolutely recommend this Sonoma house for anyone traveling to the Napa/Sonoma area. It was exactly what we wanted. We had a group of 4 couples and there were 4 large rooms and spacious tv room / living areas for eveyone to hang out in. There was also a patio area outside that is nice to sit on and enjoy your wine purchases from the day. :)

One of my favorite things about the house was how clean it was. All in all it was a great house to rent.
