We were mourning the death of my mother and this place helped us heal. They gave us space to be together to laugh, cry, and share memories that might otherwise have been lost forever. This house was a haven for which we will always be grateful. Space, heat, and hot water were plentiful and we all felt loved and comforted as we grieved. Best place we could have chosen by far!
I stayed at the house over Thanksgiving with my siblings, nephews and niece. The house was well stocked and very comfortable for a group. It is also convenient located to walk downtown. We really enjoyed it. Thanks so much!
Our stay in Carlisle was absolutely wonderful and having Glass Gable South as our lodging was the icing on the cake! We were 2 families in town for Parents' Weekend at Dickinson College and it was great to have a house to bring our kids 'home' to, to cook meals and just hang out. The home is beautiful, with a good sized living room and a dining table that seated all of us with room to spare. The kitchen is very well-equipped, we made a couple of large meals and had every pot/pan/utensil we needed, plus plenty of dishes and glassware. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable, and we all slept quite well every night we stayed. One thing that really impressed us was the cleanliness of the house...we live in a historic home and it can be a real challenge to keep things dust-free with older homes, this one was very clean and clearly very well cared for. The home is within walking distance of downtown Carlisle and Dickinson, so we were able to park the car if we weren't going on a day trip. Diana and her husband were the perfect hosts and it was a pleasure to chat with them and a couple of their adorable grandchildren when we were having our evening wine under the pergola in the backyard.
This is a great home, one we hope to come back to for future Dickinson events. Thanks, Diana!!
Nice house beautifully furnished. Much attention to detail. Great location.
This is a beautiful home and property. We had a full house between both houses and everyone loved the home. What a great place for a family reunion. Close to town and freeway. Comfortable. Wonderfully maintained. The house is intriguing and charming. I can not recommend it enough!! The owner is very kind and helpful.
I stayed at this property for an extended weekend with family and friends for a golf weekend in Carlisle. There were 8 guys so we don't always prepare well for our golf weekends and Glass Gable South had everything that we needed (towels, bedding, paper products,...). We just had to show up. We walked to dinner locations, had easy access to highways to get to golf courses and loved the house. Plenty of room for all 8 of us. I will definitely come back next year for our golf weekend and highly recommend this house. I polled the group and everyone unanimously wanted to return. Loved it.
