The place Agulo referred to by locals as the green balcony, consists of two parts and is the smallest of the six municipalities of the Canary Island of La Gomera.
It is picturesquely situated between fertile green terraced fields and steep almost vertical rock walls ( "Red Wall") on the road between Vallehermoso and Hermigua.
In the low-lying region Agulo Casco is surrounded by a natural amphitheater in which the three places La Montañeta, Las Casas, El Charco, and a bit remote, the homestead Caserio de Lepe are.

and therefore the location is considered "the pearl of La Gomera".
The higher ground zone of Sobreagulo with the districts Las Rosas, La Palmita, Meriga (the Meriga forest was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Cruz de Tierno lie near the Garajonay National Park.
