Divide House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Custom home built in 2009 on 35 fenced and gated acres. Amazing views of the mountains with one of the best Pike's Peak views around.

Total seclusion yet only 1.5 miles to US Hwy 24 on a well maintained County Road. 6.5 miles from Woodland Park, a town of 10,000 which provides several grocery stores and numerous restaurants and services. 30 minutes from Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs with many tourist oriented activities and shopping. Hike the property and additional 25 acres across the road or lounge on one of 2 decks and enjoy the solitude with plenty of visiting wildlife, including the large Elk herd on the adjacent 1200 acre ranch.

Bag a “14 er” and climb Pikes Peak, or hike many of the different trails nearby. Close by there is world class fly fishing, mountain biking, unsurpassed Colorado snow skiing and white water rafting. You can also try your luck gambling at the historic Cripple Creek Mining District, a beautiful 20 mile drive.

This home has many upgrades including hickory cabinets with granite countertops in the kitchen and both baths, stainless steel appliances, tile and wood floors in living room and kitchen, bedrooms with carpeting, in floor heat, 46” plasma flat screen TV with surround sound (including the deck), Wi-Fi, 2 decks, one covered, and much more.

You're certain to have a wonderful and unforgettable Colorado vacation for just the two of you or for the entire family. This property is shared with another vacation rental they reside 750 yards apart and cannot be seen from each other. You can reserve both homes on the property for a larger group.

We do keep the driveway well plowed of snow in the winter, however the driveway does have a few ups and downs, so we do recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter and spring months.

Why Bradley and Laura Eicher chose South Central Colorado

Laura and I have both lived in this area for many years and as a home builder, have built both homes on this property for the enjoyment of family and friends and have now extended the invitation for you and your family to enjoy as well.

What makes this house unique

This property offers so much, from hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing to winter fun including sledding and snowshoeing. We do provide a selection of snowshoes and sleds for our guests to use. It also provides an opportunity to relax, sit on the deck and enjoy absolute solitude while drinking coffee, enjoying the visiting birds and hummingbirds and basking in the warm sunshine with majestic Pike's Peak as a backdrop.

Great holiday in Divide

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, daughter and I spent 6 days in the cabin in August. It was the highlight of our trip to America this year.

The cabin made a fantastic base from which to explore the local area. It was very clean, extremely comfortable and well equipped.

The cabin offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We all enjoyed watching the wildlife, particularly the humming birds feeding from the feeder located on the porch. During our stay we also saw blue jays, deer, squirrels and two calves.

We particularly liked the “eco-friendliness” of the cabin. The solar power was able to cater for almost all of our energy needs, although the back-up generator did step in to provide additional power if required.

We would definitely recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday home from which to explore the many local attractions.

Beautiful house, Excellent location, and Stunning views

  • 5 of 5

This was our first summer trip to Colorado. The Mountain Sun Cabin is everything as stated and more! Great layout, fantastic view, easy access, and "at home" furnishings. Brad, Laura, and Kyle are easy to work with, and answered all our questions (this was our first vacation home rental--not just a cabin in northern MN). We found the journal of previous clients informative for local attractions and restaurants (in case you do not want to cook). This is a beautiful home, in a perfect location - Be sure to plan for an extended stay - it is worth every minute. Thank you Brad, Laura, & Kyle. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous view

  • 4 of 5

The views make this place. Literally built on the top of a mountain overlooking a valley. Brad very easy to work with. Had a minor problem with the hot tub and he was able to tell us what to do on the phone. I've rented from vrbo many times and this kitchen was the best equipped with cooking untensils, baking sheets, muffin tins etc.

The only reason I rated a 4 and not a 5 is the furniture is old when you lay on the sofa you can feel the steel frame. My other complaint is the bathrooms are tiny. There is no counter space. Just a sink and a few inches on each side. I felt the bathroom was the size of a bath in a travel trailer. Both bathrooms are the same size.

There was a mildew smell in the master bath. Come to find out it was the front load washer. The gasket around the door was dirty. I cleaned and deodorized it and the smell eventually left.

With back to back visits they only have 4 hours to clean. Floors were ok but shower had some mildew and bathroom floor was not clean.

My last comment is the beds. I would say these beds are 7-8 years old and at the end of their life. The towels and wash clothes and sheets are too old and need to be replaced.

Overall a nice stay but feel a few replacements are in order.

A real stay in the mountains with the whole family

  • 5 of 5

When I envisioned staying in a cabin in the mountains, this is what I actually imagined it would be like, and perhaps even better than I saw in my mind's eye. Our family of 7 with kids ranging in age from teenage to toddler all loved being here for most of a week. The views are stunning from the windows and porches, and my husband enjoyed hours on the front porch each morning reading with his coffee and the hummingbirds and starlings buzzing about. It really felt like we were alone in our own mountain forest, and enjoyed the wildflowers coming into bloom as well as the various wildlife we afternoon we came home to deer laying in the yard by the hottub, and once a hummingbird flew in the door and hung around for an hour before we were able to help him back out the door.

The house itself is impeccable, and I thoroughly enjoyed cooking in the modern kitchen with nice appliances and granite countertops - we had all of the cookware, spices and condiments we needed, and for the first time, I didn't mind having to cook while I was on vacation. The kids were excited to have their own beds and who would have thought that it would be a selling point to sleep on an air mattress? When you are three, everything seems fun, I guess. This was my first trip without a baby, and I was glad not to have to drag along all of the gear that babies need. However, Brad and Laura have things in hand for those that are still traveling with littles - I saw a pack-n-play, nice high chair and even a backpack baby carrier in the closet for use. How nice!

Our location was perfect for what we wanted to do - we were 30 minutes out of Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Cog Railway, and Colorado Springs. 30 minutes or so away from Cripple Creek, 20 minutes from the Florissant Fossil national Park, and then just 1 hour south from there on a scenic highway to rafting in Canon City. And while it was 95 in Colorado Springs, it was a beautiful 78 at the cabin in the mountains. Perfect. We spent our mornings hiking and seeing the sights and came back to the cabin in the afternoons to enjoy the solitude and cool. Woodland Park, only 6 or 7 minutes away, is a larger town with everything you could need, and Divide is only a minute away with a nice grocery and gas stations. The roads are well-maintained and easy to get around. Perfect location.Brad and Laura were great to work with, fast in replying and available to answer questions by phone or email as needed. Thanks!
