Jim & Judy Pearson
Why Jim & Judy Pearson chose Ashtabula
As partners, the Pearson's and the Trice's decided to purchase this property not to offer as a vacation rental property, but to someday build family homes on beautiful Lake Erie. In planning for some summer family lodging, we decided to offer up the property for others to enjoy the soft summer breezes and spectacular sunsets which occur all summer long.
What makes this House unique
This property is unique because it has been created to host our family during the summer, however we offer it to you and your family for you to also enjoy. This means that the decor and accommodations are prepared as our home not just any summer rental. You will enjoy all the amenities of home while at this summer retreat. Plenty of yard to play all the summer fun games and access to the water that will thrill the child in everyone!

Filthy disgusting dump!
This house was so dirty! Bugs in the window sills, cobwebs in the corners of the rooms, house is dusty, towels had a musty moldy smell, the entire house had a musty smell. You couldn't shower or wash dishes without both smelling musty. Disgusting!! There are no blinds in the bathrooms, had to hang a towel over the window to take a shower. The fitted bed sheets kept sliding off not very fitted. Wondered if the blankets on the beds ever got washed. The door handle on the front door was loose. There were maggots in the outside trash can when we took out our garbage from the weekend. Totally disgusted! This is the worst trip ever to Lake Erie! The house was decorated nicely but that's about the only good thing I have to say about it! They need a better cleaning person. There are so many nice houses near the lake don't waste your time and money on this dump! 😠
We are so sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations for your stay with us at our vacation home. Your description of what you experienced is not what we want our home to be and we have taken your comments to heart. We have not previously had any guests at our lake house describe their experience such as you have and we are taking steps to ensure no else will have a similar experience. We thank you for your review so that we can address issues as customer satisfaction and experience is very important to us.
DDay & Rock N Roll Hall of Fame
Had a very nice visit. Came up for the 75th Anniversary DDay reenactment at Conneaut and the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland with two high school buddies. We're all 55 now so low key is the rule. Only minor complaints were "beach" was Rocky shoreline - couldn't really see anyway to swim and the upstairs small bedrooms didn't have blinds on both windows, so up with the Sun! Otherwise everything was very nice. Thanks for a great visit!
Eileen, thank you for your comments! We will immediately address the blinds in the upstairs bed rooms. Low key and NOT getting up with the sun rise is our wish for all our guest! I am so glad you were not only able to enjoy the property but the D-Day Celebration in Conneaut (WHAT AN EVENT!) and only 45 miles to the west...Cleveland and Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame! As for the beach...we are heartbroken this year as we are experiencing the highest water levels in Lake Erie in recorded history. We typically have great access to a beach with a slowly sloping sandy bottom swim area which has been completely consumed by the high water levels. Up and down the shore, erosion is problem. We welcome you back for next year's D-Day celebration! Your friend, Rick.
It was nice to be so close to Geneva-on-the-Lake but still be far enough away to be relaxing. Home was very nice and was the best stocked home we've ever stayed at. Will be booking it for next year.
Donald, Thank you very much for your kind comments! You found the combination that others over the years have found...close enough to everything, however quiet and relaxing! Over the years, we have had families stay with us that never left the property. Hopefully lake levels will recede a bit for your vacation next year so that you can enjoy more of the beach! Your friend, Rick
Our very large group (19 adults, 5 children) rented Lakehurst Bungalow and Pearl Beach last week. Both homes were very clean and well appointed. The adjacent backyards provided easy access between the homes and kept the little ones away from the road. We especially enjoyed the fire pits, picnic and patio tables.
Due to heavy rain this spring, the lake access was difficult and we were disappointed in having virtually no sandy beach. Previous renters raved about the beach and we know there was nothing the owners could have done. You can't fight Mother Nature!
We found several local public beaches and used those instead. A visit later in the season or during a year with less rainfall, staying in both or either of these properties would be wonderful.
Molly, Thank you for your kind words. Our beach during low water is one of the best in the area, however this high water level is devastating not only our beach but the bank. Our newly designed fire pits have been a big hit...we are happy that you and your family enjoyed them. We welcome you and your family back to our homes any time! We do however believe the lake water levels will continue to remain high for the rest of this year, so our beach may continue to be limited. Rick
It has a beautiful view and most all the comforts of home. We had great family time and made memorie
It was very convenient online to rent. Any questions were answered promptly and everything went smoothly.
Elizabeth, Thank you for your comments. We were never quite sure about the online bookings, however working with our valued partner vrbo, booking online could not be simpler. We monitor the site constantly and provide quick and accurate information upon requests. We welcome you and your family to return again to our vacation rental should the opportunity present itself again. Rick
Clean House, Great Location
The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were all nicely furnished and comfortable. The garage converted to a game room/bar area quickly became our go to hang out place in the house. The long table was perfect for breakfast for the group and playing cards and games in the evenings. The access to the water was perfect as was the sunset from the nice Adirondack chairs overlooking the lake. Bathrooms are spacious enough for a group of girls to get ready for the day. The only complaint would be the lack of outlets in the bathrooms, but there were plenty in the bedrooms to compensate. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals at the house as well. The owners were beyond accommodating and answered all questions we had in a timely and detailed manner. I would highly recommend this property for future visits to Geneva on the Lake!
Thank you for your kind comments. We welcome you and your group back at any time. We have just added new outdoor fireplaces and landscaping. With Lake Erie water levels being at record heights, we have created new access to the water front as well as securing the wonderful views that you and your group so much enjoyed. Cheers!
