Sunny place, unobstructed view! Space for CALM and ACTIVE HOLIDAYS. 1-4 Pers.

We are very close to the tourist attractions that make up this area and just far enough to ensure a calm and relaxing stay. No ambient light at night disturbs us so that starry nights are seen very clearly and detailed, which is quite rare in central Europe.

Only 15 minutes separate us from the major prehistoric aera between Montignac and Les Eyzies, called 'Vallée de l'homme' (Valley of man), displaying 40,000 years of human settling with the cave of 'Lascaux' and the 'National prehistoric museum', and from the castle of Hautefort.

Beautiful, typically French weekly markets and great canoeing little north or south of us bring dynamism and variety to your stay.

We are situated in a beautiful rolling countryside. Small or large excursions or tours can start right from the house, they lead through walnut groves and quaint, authentic villages with stone houses and churches from the 12th-17th Century.

The holiday home is part of a large country house, on top of the hill at the edge of a small hamlet. In the garden, on the sunny west side there is a siting /dining area below a big tree from where one has a breathtaking 180 degree view free to the west, across fields, woods and meadows.

In the evening you will enjoy unforgettable sunsets, breathe healthy country air and listen to birdsongs. Pure relaxation.

Wonderful place to stay...

The farmhouse is simply idyllic, stone walls, wooden floors, simple kitchen but with everything you need, modern bathroom with fabulous shower and very comfortable downstairs bedroom. The outside is even better with views as far as the eye can see and a lovely garden setting. We ate in every night because it was so nice to sit in such tranquil surroundings with good local food and great french wine after a long day out seeing all the great things the region has to offer.

Markus & Ursula are lovely hosts always ready with advice on places to visit. We were very late arriving on our first day and they kindly brought us some food and wine which was much appreciated. The place was easy to find with a little guidance from Markus for the very last bit, the village of Azerat is very nearby and has a small shop and a fantastic swimming pool (open between certain dates in july and August). A supermarket is only 10 minutes drive. Sarlat took us no longer than 45 minutes and there is lots to do and see close by. Every village is picture-postcard perfect. Highlights included canoeing on the Garonne, La Roque St Christophe, Saint Leon sur Vezere & Tourtoirac cave.

We went on to Bordeaux for 4 nights after staying here which we loved but we both missed this place terribly! Strongly recommended.

A little slice of heaven

Markus and Ursula were great hosts, so welcoming and friendly. The place is beautiful and the location is just perfect. Situated in a very peaceful area but also close enough for lots of great days out. Markus and Ursula had thought of everything - all those little extras that make such a difference. We loved it so much that we booked another week. You won't be disappointed. Probably one of my most fondest holiday locations ever.

Een artistiek huis met een fantastisch uitzicht !

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in dit huis. Het is een oude boerderij, die op een artistieke en originele manier is verbouwd. En hij is van alle gemakken voorzien.

De rust en de omgeving met het uitzicht is bijzonder mooi. Prachtige zonsondergangen kun je hier zien. Het huis ligt in een rustiek, doodlopende straatje in een leuk klein gehucht boven op een heuvel.

De eigenaren/verhuurders wonen er naast en kunnen goed Engels, Duits en Frans. Je hebt voldoende privacy. En met een beetje geluk heb je ook nog mooie Limousine-koeien als buren.

En in de directe omgeving zijn vele bezienswaardigheden zoals kastelen, mooie dorpjes of stadjes, rivieren (ook om te kanoën) en grotten. En overall: het landschap is ook prachtig.

Kortom, een goed en bijzonder huis als mooi uitvalsbasis voor een goede vakantie !!

schönes historisches gemäuer, freundliche vermieter.zugiges,feuchtes,nicht isoliertes dachgeschoss

freundliche vermieter, die jederzeit ansprechbar und auskunftbereit waren. schöne lage mit gutem blick über das tal.das unten gelegene schlafzimmer mit ausgang zum garten war etwas dunkel und klamm, aber ok, auch die matratzen bequem. in der küche war alles notwendige zum kochen vorhanden. w-lan/internetzugang funktionierte so gut wie gar nicht. das durchgehend schräge dachgeschosszimmer mit zwei betten, in dem unsere kinder für eine woche für einen aufpreis geschlafen haben, war überhaupt nicht isoliert und dementsprechend kalt, je nach wetterlage, und zugig. von außen konnte man durch das dach die beleuchtung sehen, das dach war nur locker mit ziegeln abgedeckt. bei schönem wetter kann dort zu liegen durchaus ok sein, bei wind und regen aber sehr ungemütlich, dafür war der Aufpreis ganz bestimmt zu viel geld.

Owner's Response: Der federführende Gast hat sich hier offensichtlich nicht besonders wohl gefühlt. Zwischen Lob und Abwertung enthalten seine Zeilen auch grobe Falschdarstellungen. Das Dach ist im Top-Zustand. Der Boden des Dachzimmers ist durchgehend waagerecht. Alle Räumlichkeiten sind angenehm auf natürliche Weise klimatisiert und hell gestaltet. Tolle Beleuchtungsmöglichkeiten und aussergewöhnliche Gestaltungsdetails laden zum Genießen ein. Internet funktioniert tadellos für e-mail und kurze Recherchen. Streaming, viel-Surfen und ähnliches sind leider nicht möglich. Wir bedauern es sehr, dass der Gast uns seine Bemängelungen nicht vor Ort mitgeteilt hat, weil wir nebst nett auch sehr lösungsorientiert sind. Schade auch, dass die (erwachsenen) Kinder in diesen Zeilen ihre Begeisterung nicht zum Ausdruck bringen durften.

Ein spannendes ferienhaus mit unendlich vielen liebevollen und skurilen kleinigkeiten.

Die schönsten sonnenuntergänge, die wir je erlebt haben und der wahnsinnigste sternenhimmel!!!

Dazu fast 14 tage sonne und 30 grad!!

Die vermieter sind immer ansprechbar, überraschen mit netten gesten ( leckere feigen und trauben stehen plötzlich vor der tür...), drängen sich aber nie auf, so dass die privatsshäre immer bestehen bleibt- super!
