This is located within an hour to Northern Door and all the tourism activity of Door County but still private and comfortable. Our beach is private with only one neighbor close by. We have beautiful gardens and fantastic sunsets. Only 1/2 hour to Green Bay for that shopping experience.
The house pictures do not do it justice. Extremely clean and well equipped. The gardens are cared for by someone who really is wonderful at gardening and they wrap the entire house with ceramic pieces and lots of care. The house itself is very spacious and we had 8 in our party. Plenty of place to play and spread out. Best part was the fire each night as the sun went down. The view of the sunset on the water was amazing and we looked forward to getting back from the travels just to see it. The care of the prior owner/family is visible and we had everything in the kitchen that we needed. Highly recommend renting if you'd like to take your family to a busy door county vacation, but still have the quiet at night for a calm fire with the view of the water and a blanket of stars to view. We really had a great time and so did the kids!
We had a group of siblings---two couples and two singles, who were looking for a restful place near the water. This house fit the bill perfectly! The house was lovely, and very clean, with large windows looking towards the water of Green Bay (with stairs to the water). The property is atop a hill, so you had the sound of the waves breaking as well as the wind blowing through the mature trees. There were plenty of places to hang out in the house but we spent quite a bit of time sitting outside looking at the water and at the lovely flower beds scattered around the house. The town of Brussells is about 35 minutes from the town of Green Bay, 25 minutes from Sturgeon Bay, and just a shade over two hours to the Washington Island Ferry, which put all of Door County within pretty easy driving distance. The owner, Carol, stopped by and graciously answered a lot of questions we had about places to eat in the area, and places to visit. There is a lovely park next to the property where we enjoyed walking the trails. It was the first time most of my family had been to Door County and they were in agreement that they would come back to visit again. And yes, the sunsets over the Bay were stunning! Thank you Carol!! and Happy Anniversary!!
My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with our family on Green Bay. This beautiful house provided enough space for nine of us (7 adults and 2 children). The kitchen was well equiped and spacious enough for three women to share in the cooking duties. We had many of our meals on the deck looking out on the bay. The sunsets were beautiful. Our two grandchildren enjoyed going out with an adult in the paddle boat. A small sand beach was in walking distance at the county park. I would recommend bringing water shoes for the beach on the property and at the county park. There are some shoes available at the house but it is good to wear shoes that fit well. The rural town of Brussels was charming. The grocery store had everything we needed, the people at the diner were welcoming, and the gas in town was the cheapest around. It was a short drive to Green Bay and the Bay Beach amusement park, the zoo, and railroad museum. We also took a drive through upper Door County. We always like stopping in Bailey's Harbor to walk in the Ridges Sanctuary and spend some time at the beach there. This was the perfect place for us for our family get-together. We got to know our grandchildren in a different way which was really special to us. Thank you Carol and Dale for sharing your house with us.
We had a group of ten stay for a week and the house and yard were so comfortable and relaxing and very clean. The yard had enough space for everyone and as did the house. The owner was wonderful and did much more than expected for us. The sunsets were fantastic. We only wish we had another week off to stay longer. It is very quiet and secluded but only a short drive to various activities in the area. A wonderful stay and a great host.
Me and my family had a wonderful time at the cottage. It was so nice to hear the water and nature that I remember from my childhood at my own parents cottage on the bay. It was a special blessing that I was able to hold a family reunion on the large front lawn a week to the day my mother passed. It is a memory we all cherish. I cannot praise it enough.
Beautiful, well-maintained property with lovely owners. My extended family had a great visit together. Quiet, rural setting to relax, yet within driving distance of Door County resort activities for a day trip. A group of us went to visit the Farm in Sturgeon one day, and the littlest ones loved it, so everyone could enjoy! Edge of Town Bar & Grill for fish is not to be missed. Only minus: no mobile phone service unless you have the local WI provider. It felt good to unplug for awhile and enjoy the days.
Attractions:Enjoy Swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing, right out our front door of this beautiful location. Sugar Creek Park is right next door, that you can launch your boat, or jet skies. The kids will love picking shells and such on the shoreline. 4 man Paddle boat is available for your use. Enjoy the sunsets, while sitting by the fire at our firepit, and roasting smores with the kids. If your a Packer fan, we are only 35 minutes to Lambeau Field. Tour and taste several wineries within the county, from Sturgeon Bay to Fish Creek. Restaurants in our area are very reasonable, to dine out with the family. The front deck has a 15x15 enclosed gazabo, to enjoy your sunsets. Potawatomi Park is just minutes away.
Fantastic golfing in Southern Door, and Door County Cherry picking at local farms in the area, 1/4 mile away. Fantastic resturants with reasonable prices. Snowmobiling right out the front door in Jan, Feb, and March. This will truly be a vacation you will never forget!
