About George Busteed

We are a family that loves Tahoe! Hike, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, mountain biking, photography, fishing... All things outdoors. After a day on the mountain, a soak in the hot tub or lounging with good book is just the best. There is just something relaxing about mountain life.

George Busteed purchased this house in 2004

Why George Busteed chose Meeks Bay

The lake views are everywhere. Amazingly beautiful!

There is Meek's Bay for summer fun at the beach, marina & resort. The bike trail starts at Sugar Pine State Park and goes out to Squaw Valley. Winters offer great back country skiing or split-boarding, cross country skiing in the meadow, or Homewood just down the road. Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows resorts have recently combined ownership for the best skiing and snowboarding in Tahoe!

We love it and hope you will too! Welcome :)

What makes this house unique

The downstairs den is arranged as an entertainment area and bunk room. It features a single bed, full bed, bunk, pull out queen sofa sleeper, 48' Flat screen TV, sleeps 4+. Great for the night owls. There is step-in hot tub access from the downstairs deck. Stunning night sky!

We love this place!

  • 5 of 5

We love this house, it's our second summer, but it can use a few upgrades. The whole t.v. system upstairs is getting pretty antiquated, and it's hard not having WIFI in the house. The dishwasher needs to be upgraded. Lots of broken off racks on the bottom shelf, and the throw rugs in the living/dining room area need to be tossed! They are disgusting & dirty! The deck needs lots of repairs, but other than that, the house is clean and a great place to stay! The view is the best and we like the location, since we spend a lot of time at beautiful Meeks Bay!

Great location not far from Meeks Bay campground

  • 4 of 5

Comfortable housing with to-die-for views. Furnishings a little worn but very clean. We enjoyed walking the hills & trails in the quiet neighborhood in the evening. You need a vehicle though to access restaurants and grocery store.

Comfortable & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Great house to stay in when visiting Tahoe. Plenty of room-we had 4 teenagers plus my husband & myself. It had everything we needed, dishwasher & very well stocked kitchen! Close to Meeks Bay Beach. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice House and nice view (2)

  • 5 of 5

(Second attempt at a review, because of a system failure the first time)

The house is very nice and suited our family reunion needs well. We had four other houses nearby for the reunion.

This house had plenty of kitchen supplies (pans, dishware, etc,) and everything was easy enough to operate. The central fan to cool the house was very handy.

I like to gift the houses I rent and left four margarita glasses with the glassware.

Thank you again, George. Nice house.

Michael Furey.

Outstanding Location and Perfect House for a wonderful Stay in Lake Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

The Views from both decks are amazing and provide an excellent view of the lake and mountains. The House is very clean and all the bedrooms were super comfortable. Everything you need for an enjoyable vacation is provided. The hot tub was relaxing after the long hikes. The location is the perfect distance between both North and South Lake Tahoe. We did it all: Hiked, Biked, Rented a boat, went white water rafting on the Truckee River, and even tried our luck at the casinos. Thanks for a great vacation house.

Nice Home, Quiet Neighborhood, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this home for 3 nights in early June. It was perfect for 4 people (2 couples). We had everything that we needed. The views of the lake and sunrises were beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening watching the stars appear in the sky. George, the owner, is wonderful, helpful and gave us ideas of what to see while we were there. We are from the east coast and didn't know anything about Lake Tahoe. We were glad we chose this home on the west and quiet side of the lake. Meeks Bay is just a mile down the road and a lovely beach. Hiking down to Emerald Bay was a favorite as well as kayaking out of Tahoe City. Thank you, George, for sharing your lovely home with us and making us comfortable.
