We are a family that loves Tahoe! Hike, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, mountain biking, photography, fishing... All things outdoors. After a day on the mountain, a soak in the hot tub or lounging with good book is just the best. There is just something relaxing about mountain life.

The lake views are everywhere. Amazingly beautiful!
There is Meek's Bay for summer fun at the beach, marina & resort. The bike trail starts at Sugar Pine State Park and goes out to Squaw Valley. Winters offer great back country skiing or split-boarding, cross country skiing in the meadow, or Homewood just down the road. Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows resorts have recently combined ownership for the best skiing and snowboarding in Tahoe!
We love it and hope you will too! Welcome :)
The downstairs den is arranged as an entertainment area and bunk room. It features a single bed, full bed, bunk, pull out queen sofa sleeper, 48' Flat screen TV, sleeps 4+. Great for the night owls. There is step-in hot tub access from the downstairs deck. Stunning night sky!
We had a great stay! The view was amazing! The house was clean and had everything we needed (towels, blankets, kitchenware, etc). The hot tub was a nice bonus. George provided all the information we needed ahead of time which was very helpful. Overall, I would definitely stay again!
We had a great time at the cabin!
Pros: Cabin was just a couple minutes from Homewood resort which had a great ski school for the kids and very family oriented. George had listed close stores and restaurants and rental shops that were just around the corner.
Cabin was freshly cleaned and stocked with blankets/towels/board games/books/kitchenware/spices/soap. Anything we forgot, we could find in the cabin.
Cabin layout was very cool, we gave the kids the downstairs which looked like a family room that had bunk beds and could watch cartoons/play games/ read books and be out of our hair and even have their own bathroom. Upstairs were two bedrooms/ living room/ kitchen/bathroom. Wrap around decks upstairs and downstairs too. Hot tub was a great extra touch!
On our way there from Sacramento we took hwy 50 to 89. 89 turned out to be closed and we had to drive 2 extra hours around the lake to get there when we would have been 20 minutes away had the road been open.
(Later realized George had warned about this in the paperwork, had I read everything first I would have checked that road, the road is commonly shut down. We could have taken hwy 80 and saved 2 hours)
Weather had Homewood shut down on days we planned to ski. It did open by the weekend so we did get 2 days of skiing.
Due to weather there was a power outage in our area. Luckily the cabin was stocked with lanterns and the power came back on the next day.
None of our misfortunes were the fault of the cabin! We do plan to stay there again next year and possibly try a summer trip too! Our family loved the cabin and had a great time!
When I booked this property for a January 3-night stay, I thought it was perhaps too good to be true. Given the reasonable price, I must have overlooked something! Perhaps the photos were selected so as to exaggerate the view or the living spaces were smaller or more disheveled than advertised? I was pleasantly wrong!
All 8 of us felt very well accommodated. An hour or less from most North Lake resorts (yes, including traffic and parking), it served as an appropriate home base for the snowsport enthusiasts among us. That said, stoking a wood fire and chatting on the deck or in the hot tub with mimosas was what made this one of the most memorable Tahoe trips for me.
This house in Meeks Bay was just what we needed after a few weeks of travelling around - relaxing, peaceful, cozy and warm. We loved the views of the lake and the hot tub, and the kids liked having their own space with a TV downstairs. We couldn't believe the amount of snow - it was hectic! A very fun new experience for us to live like that for a few days. Flying home tomorrow but will take great memories of Lake Tahoe.

This house is really nice, very comfortable and has plenty of space for a family. The downstairs area with 3 beds plus sofa bed was a perfect place for the kids (ours are teens), and has a full bath. The upstairs bedrooms are also very comfortable with plenty of space- more than pictured. Although it was freezing/snow outside, the house was always very warm. The wood stove downstairs creates a lot of heat, almost too much. The view from the decks was unbeatable, and the kitchen was very nice and had everything we needed. Games, cards and puzzles kept all of us entertained as well. The house is very clean and well maintained. Nothing could have improved our stay here, with the possible exception of better cell coverage. It was a bit spotty, but good enough. George is very friendly and helpful and provided tons of information about the area. We had a fabulous week between Christmas and New Years, and enjoyed sledding, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snow shoeing, and hiking, all with incredible views/scenery. Nearby small markets are expensive for groceries. Try to bring what you can. We stopped at Costco in Sacramento on our way up.
Loved this beautiful, comfortable home. Highly recommend.
This is a lovely property with amazing views. It was well-equipped and nicely furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed including some spices. There was plenty of tissue, paper towels, and dishwashing soap for our four-day stay. The closest major grocery store is a long drive, so I appreciated having the basics already there. The location is great for the sights and hiking. The owner was congenial, easy to work with, and helpful. We came in after dark and missed the turn into the neighborhood the first time. Instructions were accurate. We just missed it, but it was a ways to get to a turn-around point. Lovely place which I highly recommend.
