One of Wimberley's original vacation getaways, this updated 1940's rock cottage is an amazing vacation value.
Shepherd's Rest is a wonderful, centrally-located launching pad to enjoy all the Wimberley Valley has to offer from one of Texas' finest swimming holes, Blue Hole, to Wimberley Market Days, shopping on the Square, the Corral Outdoor Movie Theatre, local vineyards, playhouses, etc.
When it's time to relax there's plenty of room to enjoy the great outdoors at Shepherd's Rest - from stargazing in the hot tub; playing in the large, fenced, kid-friendly yard; grilling in the outdoor kitchen; relaxing on the Texas-sized front porch; or taking the two-minute drive down to Blue Hole for a swim. The outdoor gaming pavilion includes a basketball goal and darts.
Inside you'll find comfortable king and queen bedding accommodations; additional amenities include a full-kitchen, cable TV, wireless Internet, puzzles, cards, and board games to help you enjoy your stay at Shepherd's Rest.
Shepherd's Rest is the perfect 'Away, But Not Too Far Away' destination in Wimberley. Only a short drive to all the best Wimberley has to offer including: Blue Hole Regional Park, Corral Outdoor Movie Theater, The Square, Market Days, Wimberley Glass Works, and local eateries.
There's also plenty to do at Shepherd's Rest without ever getting in a vehicle! Enjoy a short walk down to the Blanco River, a two minute walk. You'll find that this is truly the Wimberley Way - very relaxing and peaceful, a great family-friendly place to swim or lounge in a tube. Bring your river cowboy hat and floatie and beverage of your choice!
Shepherd's Rest is fabulous for the exercise enthusiast. Act like a local and enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling Flite Acres Road, Little Arkansas Road, or Little Ranches (it gets hilly fast!). Blue Hole Park also offers 4+ miles of easy trails for pedestrians and cyclists and a playground and basketball court for the kids.
Have a larger gathering in mind? Shepherd's Rest is adjacent to Shepherd's Lodge (VRBO#701591) which can be rented in conjunction with Shepherd's Rest to offer accommodations for up to 16 guests.

Enjoy your stay!
We stayed at Sheppard's Rest for a long weekend and we had a blast. The house was very comfortable and we had a great time with all the outdoor amenities with the jacuzzi and the fantastic outdoor grill.
We enjoyed mostly everything about our stay. Communication from the beginning was good. Everything inside of the house was clean as well. Kitchen comes with everything you need to cook and everything seemed clean and new as well. The only issue with the kitchen was that the table in there had a pretty big lean to it and was on the verge of falling apart. It would have been nice to have a better table in there as the only other table available to eat at is outside (which was nice because we would have eaten out there regardless). You can eat at the island as well, so there is another option.
Living room had comfortable seating. The coach seemed new while the two other chairs had some years on them, again, not a problem as they were comfortable.
Front patio was nice and was a good area to play cards and enjoy the views. It could have used a fan out there, but again, I am being overly nit-picky on minor things (should say something that my only negatives are really minor things).
Bathroom was a little small, but it is an older house and that is to be expected.
We did have a small issue with a large storm that blew through one night that did knock a bunch of big limbs down which almost hit the house and did not a fence over (and caused some hail damage to our cars). Not their fault by any means, but they were quite responsive to everything and called to make sure everything else was good with our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Shepherd's Rest. Our children really enjoyed the space, the swings, and just running around. Our highlights were Blue Hole Regional Park, Jacob's Well Natural Area, Wimberley Cafe, Cypress Creek Trail and Hill Country Consignment.
The house was clean and the beds were really comfortable!
Our family of 5 stayed at Shepherd's Rest and had a wonderful time. The home is cozy, clean and has all you need, including a great yard for the kids and a covered grill area and hot tub for the adults in the evening.
Easy access to downtown Wimberley (fun shops), Blue Hole (a beautiful place to swim) and the surrounding hill country. We had been here before the floods and though it looks different, it is still a beautiful place to relax together!
My family stayed at your cabin for three days total. We were very impressed with how clean the house was. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen supplied everything we needed. The best part, in my opinion, were the yards. The back and the front are huge and neatly manicured. If I had to search for something imperfect, it would be the bathroom. I found it a bit small but clean and water pressure was terrific. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable vacation for my family!
We just stayed over Memorial Weekend 2014 and the house was perfect! It is a really family oriented house and my toddler had such a great time! I cannot say enough good things about our experience. House was clean, cute, quiet and very close to everything in Wimberley, Driftwood and Canyon Lake. We will be back again to this house. My parents who r 60 also enjoyed there stay as well!
