Located only 12 miles SE of Lincoln City, Oregon, the Siletz Riverhouse is your centrally located fishing or relaxation haven. The house is located on the Siletz River. Climb 10 steps up one story to the wonderful glass-railed deck enclosure overlooking the river or continue inside from this elevated deck and watch the river flow by through the large picture windows. We own the private dock directly below for your swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, or wine-in-hand 'watch the river flow by' convenience.
This quaint one bedroom river house, which surprisingly sleeps 6, has all the amenities you need. Bring your fishing pole, kayak, inner tubes, or a good book for a peaceful weekend to getaway from it all and enjoy the serenity. Sit on our private dock with your favorite beverage while someone on the deck grills you a steak or that salmon you just caught or bought! Bring your own wood for a crackling fire in the riverside firepit, the backyard fire ring, or for the riverstone backed windowed wood stove!
There is a full service remodeled kitchen complete with stove, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans, coffee pot, blender, toaster, waffle iron, griddle, chopper, popcorn popper, even a fondue pot and pizza stone and several skillets in the bottom drawer of the oven! We also have plasticware for your leftovers, mixing bowls and measuring cups/spoons, cutting board, brownie pans, Pyrex bakeware, cookie sheets, abundant glassware, and two types of cork screws. A propane BBQ grill is conveniently located on the deck.
Our LCD-HD flat screen TV has a family oriented Blu-ray and DVD 100+ movie library and a stereo to play your CDs for your entertainment pleasure. The dining table seats six with cushions for the chairs. There is a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, heated and a large closet! Need a little more sleeping room? The custom made twin sized bunk beds with privacy curtains are roomy, located in the hallway outside of the bedroom. The futon in the living area is a double sized sleeper. The remodeled bathroom has a full size tub/shower, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer and candles for ambiance. Our hallway shelves are stocked with an extra TV/DVD player for the kids, emergency flash lights, cards, board games and puzzles to share.

Hello! We are The Boettchers (Rod and Pam) and we acquired the Siletz Riverhouse in August 2009. One of the things we love to do is to take out our canoe or kayaks and paddle the river right in front of our house! We are excited to continue the tradition of sharing this quaint cabin on the banks of the Siletz River with others. Welcome!
Rod Boettcher purchased this cabin in 2009
What could be better? The Pacific Ocean and Siletz Bay within a 12 minute drive from the cabin. Mo's Restaurant and their famous Clam Chowder. Another 5 minutes more... Shopping! Can you say the Lincoln City Outlet Mall or the funky beachside tourist shops! Then back to the cabin. The quiet, serene river floating by, the occasional drift boat or kayak, and river otters too!
We love the opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, and tranquility of sitting on the deck above the river or dangled our feet in the water sitting on the dock. This is a place where you can hear the silence. We fell in love with this Riverhouse!
A fabulous relaxing time we had in your most cozy, comfortable, and perfectly appoint home. Thank you for sharing. Best of all we caught a 19 lb., 33” Chinook using your canoe!!! Perfect birthday present for my husband and me. We will be back!
I have to say the only reason I did not give it five stars is there was no washer and dryer I understand it was do to winter and they were afraid it might freeze if no one was around to to take care of it when it is not rented but it was something that would have been appreciated.
Isolated, cozy, and a beautiful view. Make sure and rent the canoe for a relaxing float on the Siletz! Close enough to town, while still feeling like there is no one else around. Would recommend for sure.
This was my first stay on the Siletz River and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Its so quiet here. The house is nice and clean and appears to have been remodeled. Very comfy and cozy :) you cannot beat the price for what you get. I will definitely come back. The owner was great about communicating and the directions/"rules" were clear. I was a little disappointed the neighbor across the river spent 2 days with a chainsaw cutting up wood though. I am not holding that against the owner I rented from of course. Just a little annoying since the area is so quiet and peacful otherwise.
A few things to be aware of:
-There is absolutely no cell phone reception and no TV channels at the house. I know what you're thinking-kind of defeats the purpose of "getting away from it all", but I was alone (with my dog) and found myself wishing I would have brought someone or maybe more to do. Or even some TV to watch. That didnt ruin my stay by any means, just want people to be aware.
-Access to the main part of the house can only be reached by going up a pretty steep flight of stairs. This is not a place to bring someone that is disabled. It was fine for me, but I wouldnt be able to bring my mom (who is disabled) as much as I would love to because this place is just so nice and relaxing and the views are incredible.
The road is not labeled, so pay attention to the milepost they mention in your directions they send you. It was probably the only way I would have found it since my cell phone wasnt working.
-You do have to clean up your own mess, so keep that in mind. This includes sweeping/mopping, vaccuuming, dusting, trash, toilet, bathtub, etc. Im so used to just packing up and leaving-this added a layer to the trip I hadnt experienced before and it wasnt my favorite. However, that's just me and most people probably dont care.
-The sulfur smell in the water was tough for me to overcome. I know it isnt harmful, but I decided not to bathe because of it. The cold water smelled as well. I'm a weirdo when it comes to smells :)
Overall, great trip! Wish I could post pictures on the review.
Comfortable, clean and peaceful stay on the Siletz River....Fishing, boating, relaxing, reading....a great place to re-charge your batteries..........All the amenities of home away from the hustle of the coastal tourists. Highly recommend..!!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Siletz River House. It was comfortable, had many amenities, and was a short drive from great hiking trails and also from Lincoln City or Depoe Bay. The home is very well-maintained with updated features/appliances, a woodstove, nice windows, and a beautiful deck, surrounded by beautiful trees, overlooking the river. The canoe rental is worth it as the river is easy to paddle. The cost is kept down by doing your own cleaning before you leave. The owner is easy to communicate with, helpful at giving information. There is an Oregon Coast Guidebook at the house with info on trails in the area. No cell service/wi-fi at house, but there is in town of course (and the owner allows you to forward your phone to the cabin phone). Many restaurants and shops in the nearby towns, including things to do like whale watching.
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Siletz Riverhouse and we are hoping to return in the future. The only reason I'm giving this review 4 stars instead of 5 is because the previous renters didn't do a very good job of cleaning up after themselves and I had to clean the bathroom before we we're able to use it but other than that the home was lovely and everything we hoped it'd be for our family vacation.
Relax on the private dock and watch nature flow down river! You may use our canoe for an extra fee, just ask!

This is our ‘home away from home’ and we are happy to share it. To keep our rates affordable, we have two unique requests: (1) that guests bring their own linens (bedding and towels) and (2) clean the cabin upon departure. You are the cleaning service! Guests cleaning is clearly different from most rentals because we consider it to be your house during this time on the Siletz River. This keeps our prices lower for a full house rental and no cleaning fee is charged as is the case for most house rentals. For these reasons, we rely on the honor system and ask our guests to make sure the cabin is in 'tip-top' shape for the next guests. The Boy Scouts have a rule: "Always leave the campground cleaner than you found it." We request that our guests treat our home in the same way and we will provide checklists and details for cleaning. :) If the Riverhouse is well cleaned upon your departure, then the refundable deposit will be promptly returned.
