Not only does San Felipe provide the stark beauty of the mountains and sea but the water provides some of the best baja fishing, onshore and by boat. Jet skis and boats can be launched right in front of the house. The mountains and desert awaits with off road entertainment. It is home to many of the off road races such as the baja 250 amd San Felipe 250, a spin off of the baja 1000. You can rent Quads and motorcycles in San Felipe or bring your own.
The house is located on the road to Puertecitos, just south of San Felipe. One of the most beguiling land-based features around is in this small town, a volcanic hot springs that flows nearby. The region is also home to the world's largest cactus the giant cardon. The coastline boasts large stretches of white sandy beaches along with rocky coves that are sure to tempt the wandering beachcomber. One thing is for sure, there is a special magic that exists in this section of Baja that consistently enchants visitors, many whom never suspect they might eventually fall under her spell.

We weren't sure what to expect. The houses nearby were all empty except one or two so we had the beach in front of the house to ourselves. The house was wonderful- beautiful, comfortable, well stocked. A great place to get away from everything and relax with our teenagers.
Bring watershoes, the beach is sandy but there are rocks in the water when the tide is up.
My family and I chose San Felipe for our past summer vacation because of the peaceful town and lovely people. We chose this property because it was located in a very quiet off the beaten path Campito. When we arrived we were HOT, TIRED, HUNGRY, and beat... eagerly awaiting the ultimate vacation that was ahead of us. Unfortunately to our disappointment we had some set backs. We followed the directions to the tee but could not for the life of us get the generator to come to life. Night was upon us and fatigue was present. We gave up and waited till day light. Sleeping in a hot, candle lite home for our maiden night. As dawn broke we went straight for the generator and slowly figured out that the provided battery (a car style battery) was dead and useless- it was not holding the charge. Luckily the grounds keeper, a friendly, down to earth local man by the name of Carlos was able to help us out by providing us with a new battery. With the battery working and fresh diesel, the massive machine huffed and puffed and chugged to life. Most of our morning was wasted trying to get the generator going. That was the only major setback. The rest being minor, such as the refrigerator not cooling, forcing us to have to put all of our food in the small freezer, the surround sound system not working, and the multiple power outages we experienced through out our stay.
Other than that my family and I had a great time enjoying the wonderful view, beautiful beach, amazing star gazing, lots of space and fun family bonding. Overall I dubbed this home with 4/5 stars. Due to the (as stated in other reviews) small bits of TLC to get everything going and the lack of assistance when we arrived. Would I stay here again? YES! now that I know what to expect and the memorable time we spent with our kids!
I hope this review comes of use to inquires of this home, cheers!
We loved it here in this off the grid hideaway. All the comforts of home with complete tranquility and beauty. Endless beach and sea out your back door and stunning beauty of the desert meets the mountains out the front door. We'll be back, it was hard to leave this magical place. And the owner Jodi, was super responsive!
This house is great! Beautiful view! We have stayed there twice now! Very comfortable !Great place to take sand toys! Fisherman come right to the house with fresh seafood!
My husband and I were looking for a getaway to really decompress with our two weimeraners. Jody's home really fit the bill. Located on an estero bluff, it was very private. No sounds but the ocean. Full moon came up over the Sea of Cortez, and the stars were endless. We loved the openess of her home and the Mexican roundhouse design. My favorite spot was the bed in front of a low window with a great view of the sea. Beds were super comfortable! We grilled about 6 dozens fresh clams from the gulf the first night - wow! My blood pressure dropped back to 120/80 the day after returning from this trip. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this home again. Thanks Jody
Well, definitely no 5 star casa, maybe at one time but not now.The place has a lot of thing that need repair, great stain glass doors the have holes and glass hanging in them, one has duck tape holding the broken glass together. There is no wi-fi internet as advertised,no signal for anything but that was no big deal for me,but when you have kids on the trip and the add said golf arcade game ,gaming console, surround sound, and nothing works but the TV ,its hard.Worst part for me was trying to get the generator working for the AC,the main battery is dead so they have a charger rigged up to charge it but you have to go out there and plug in in for about 45mins to an hr before it will charge, and if you try to early you have to start again, and the AC really doesn't do too much, I will say its a nice setting ,a little to far out of town which takes a good 40min trying not to lose your wheels in the pot holes ,really not good at night when ya cant see them., Well like i said the house was probably a great place at one time,,,,,,,but remember off the grid means off the grid.
