This is a custom built home sitting on 5 acres along the South Umpqua River in the peaceful, wooded, Cascade Mountains. This is a great location for swimming, nearby hunting and fishing, hiking and sightseeing.
The house has an open floor plan and covered porches, both front and rear, with a patio off of the rear porch. The large yard will accommodate lots of parking including RV or trailer.
This property is perfect for small family reunions and get togethers. It is also a great central location for many day trips. Nearby attractions include, South Umpqua Falls, many hiking trails and several secluded, pristine high lakes, accessible only by foot or horseback. Day trips can include Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Resort, Rogue River, Lost Creek Lake, Seven Feathers Casino, to name a few.
I have grown up and lived in Southern Oregon all of our lives. We like to spend time outdoors and intend to retire at our Tiller home someday.
Carrie Brown purchased this house in 2007
I grew up at this location. we recently had the opportunity to buy the property and build a new house on it.
This is a secluded peaceful location great for swimming and relaxing away from the stress of the world.
My family and I (6 adults & 2 kids) were so surprised at how well stocked the house was when we got there. We way overpacked!! Carrie and her dad were so helpful with everything we needed. The house was as great as it looked on the ad.And not to mention the river!! We had so many day trips in our original plans, but how could we leave the house, with the wonderful swimming hole they have! We ended up only taking 3 trips away from the house, and we had originally had one planned for each day. It was a week we will all remember as a great vacation!! We look forward to going back in the future.
Family of 4 with two small kids. This place exceeded our expectations. The house was beautiful and spacious. The property is right on the river with a huge yard for the kids and a beach area as well. We will definitely be coming back to this property next summer and I have already recommended it to several people. We felt very at home while staying there and we had a wonderful relaxing trip!
This was my second visit to this place, and my first in this beautiful home. What a magnificent experience to have a house in the Tiller area that is gorgeous and surrounded by so much natural beauty! Anyone who has lived in this area, or grew up around here as I did would find great value in this place. Well worth the money, and a unique opportunity to reacquaint yourself with the area. Both of my stays have been wonderful. I've decided to utilize this place as my new "home base" when I come to visit. It's a far better option than any of the local area hotels. I highly recommend this place. You won't regret your stay.
This rental was perfect for our recent family getaway. There was plenty of room for our 6 adults and 2 children to spend all day swimming, floating, and playing in the river during the day and to gather around the large table to share meals and play board games in the evening. The house is stocked with plenty of games, movies and anything you need in the kitchen. The only thing that would have made it any better would have been bedding for the pull out couch upstairs, but other than that, this house is well stocked. If going during the summer months be sure to bring river shoes as the rocks are very slippery. We are already planning and looking forward to renting both houses next summer for our family vacation!
Walked into the house to see some chocolate chip cookies. Great directions and ease of finding the property. We had day trips planned and were also able to enjoy the river and the house. Perfect for our family. It was good to disconnect from the outside world (no cell service) and we didn't turn the TV on at all.
This house is so beautiful! The kitchen has all things you may need. It's just a little walk across the lawn down to the river where there are a few chairs and a sandy area. There is a swimming hole right at the sandy area. There are a couple of garter snakes that live right on the rocks there. They will move out of the way for you. The South Umpqua Falls are about 20 minutes up the road. Be sure to wear rafting sandals or tennis shoes in the water and only walk on the thick mossy areas because it is slippery! The closest grocery store is Ray's in Canyonville, so make sure to stock up on food before heading to the house. This house is seriously amazing. We will definitely be back!
