The house has an open floor plan and covered porches, both front and rear, with a patio off of the rear porch. The large yard will accommodate lots of parking including RV or trailer.
This property is perfect for small family reunions and get togethers. It is also a great central location for many day trips. Day trips can include Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Resort, Rogue River, Lost Creek Lake, Seven Feathers Casino, to name a few.
Well behaved, small dogs may be considered for an extra cleaning fee.
My wife and I have grown up and lived in Southern Oregon all of our lives. We like to spend time outdoors and intend to retire at our Tiller home someday.
Carrie Brown purchased this house in 2007
My wife grew up at this location. we recently had the opportunity to buy the property and build a new house on it.
This is a secluded peaceful location great for swimming and relaxing away from the stress of the world.
My family and I (6 adults & 2 kids) were so surprised at how well stocked the house was when we got there. We way overpacked!! Carrie and her dad were so helpful with everything we needed. The house was as great as it looked on the ad.And not to mention the river!! We had so many day trips in our original plans, but how could we leave the house, with the wonderful swimming hole they have! We ended up only taking 3 trips away from the house, and we had originally had one planned for each day. It was a week we will all remember as a great vacation!! We look forward to going back in the future.
Walked into the house to see some chocolate chip cookies. Great directions and ease of finding the property. We had day trips planned and were also able to enjoy the river and the house. Perfect for our family. It was good to disconnect from the outside world (no cell service) and we didn't turn the TV on at all.
This house is so beautiful! The kitchen has all things you may need. It's just a little walk across the lawn down to the river where there are a few chairs and a sandy area. There is a swimming hole right at the sandy area. There are a couple of garter snakes that live right on the rocks there. They will move out of the way for you. The South Umpqua Falls are about 20 minutes up the road. Be sure to wear rafting sandals or tennis shoes in the water and only walk on the thick mossy areas because it is slippery! The closest grocery store is Ray's in Canyonville, so make sure to stock up on food before heading to the house. This house is seriously amazing. We will definitely be back!
An absolutely wonderful house and location! The house is beautiful, spacious and very well stocked. My daughter, son in law, two grandchildren and I loved the wonderful river and the peaceful setting. Access to the wonderful South Umpqua was easy and the river was great for wading, swimming and probably fishing. It was also convenient for side trips to Crater Lake and Wildlife Safari. Family of the owner live nearby and there is another beautiful house on the same property that is handicap accessible. The compound would make a wonderful location for a family gathering. We hope to come back sometime and highly recommend this special place. Thanks so much for sharing your place Carrie.
We stayed at Carrie's for the Memorial day long weekend. Carrie was very prompt on responses from the moment we reached out to her. Detailed instructions on every aspect followed since then. The time when we arrived was around 1:30 AM and it was very easy to find the place as well. Thanks to Carrie's extensive and clear instructions to navigate us. Our GPS wouldn't have found that place anyday. Everything was clean and ready to go to sleep after a long road trip we took from SFO.
We woke up in the morning to the one of best views I've ever woken up to. There were ample cookware, etc to get started on breakfast. bathrooms were clean and stocked and towels etc were in abundance. The property is well maintained and very close to the river that also has a view deck. We spent most of the evening and night on that deck. Plus we could go sit on the rocks by the river as well and enjoy the tranquility.
Best part about this place was there was no cellular network and it was one great thing to have :) The electronics in the house are top notch and we had no complaints in any angle.
Although, I'd mention that this property needs an update as we did miss the pool table. Apparently it's there in the adjacent property and we were hoping we had a pool table - one of the things that I always look in a vacation rental.
Overall, a great stay and I'll definitely come back if I'm around crater lake or Umpqua again.
I grew up in the Days Creek area and am familiar with Tiller and its amazing beauty. The opportunity to rent my own place right in the backyard of the Rogue-Umpqua Wilderness for a few days was more than I could pass up. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the place, it was great for entertaining and would be ideal for anyone wanting a comfortable base of operations for exploring the natural beauty of the area. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything, Patti!
