Absolutely perfect place to stay to enjoy what maine is..
This place was perfect In every way ..With a mini market And restaurant bar And grill within walking distance..Yet it was so quiet..You didnt hear Any traffic At all..The cottage wasnt to far from Bar harbor where we spent most of Are time..To Anyone curious It was A great time to go to the bar harbor Area being so close to off season the place was calm of people..We went In july 2 years Ago And it was Impossible with the crowd..This time we visited salem and Danvers on the way to check out the witch hanging memorials And Also some movie filming locations..Then we visited Port Clyde light house on the way In..When we Arrived At the cabin Adress I thought we were In the wrong place so we kept driving And found It tucked Away In the woods on the waters edge..The location reminded me of A Stephen king movie where A writer goes And secluded himself to write A novel..I would recommend this spot to Anyone I no And would go back myself Also.Besides the price,And location this place has everything you need In It..So home like ...And that heater In there will blow you Away...I could go on And on but I believe Its the red wood cottage In birch harbor...The property owners Are great .And Are very good About Answering questions And getting back to you.... Thanks. Kevin S
Great little getaway!
I highly recommend this cabin!
Daniel's directions were easy to follow and the house is in a beautiful location on the shore of Birch Harbor among the pines. Watching the bay from the dining room table was a joy, and I did see the Bald Eagle! The cabin was spotless, the kitchen was well-appointed and had everything I needed, and the wall heating unit in the living room was plenty warm enough. There were lots of little additions that were very nice: small flashlights in each bedroom, a nightlight in the bathroom, and lots of comfy throws in the living room. It was a little farther than I'd thought to the main section of Acadia NP (about an hour), but the smaller, quieter Schoodick Point section is a mere 5-10 mins away and it's beautiful! Mac's Marketplace close by has a nice variety and was plenty enough to fill in what I didn't bring, and be sure to have lunch or dinner at the Pickled Wrinkle right across the street.
Thanks for everything Daniel - I would definitely consider your little cabin again!
The property was located ideally for sightseeing and amazing seafood choices. After a long day of sightseeing it was comforting to come back to a private cozy inviting house. Would definitely stay there again.
A beautiful place with a great owner experience.
We a great time exploring Maine from a beautiful location. Couldn't ask for more!
Just what we wanted in a cottage
The cottage is very nice and clean. The location was a bit remote from attractions we wanted to visit but the drive wasn’t bad at all. It was secluded and very private. Beautiful views from the deck and my husband enjoyed the photo ops! Since we both like to cook we had access to the freshest seafood and a kitchen that had everything imaginable to cook with. I was very pleased and would love to stay again if we are ever in this area in the future . Owner was great (thanks!) and very communicative.
Thanks so much for sharing your cottage and giving us a memorable vacation to Maine.
We had a great time at the cabin, secluded with a beautiful view of Birch Harbor. Would recommend to anyone who likes privacy. Nice deck to enjoy your morning coffee. Hope to visit Maine and stay there again.
The cottage is located just minutes from Winter Harbor (where there are lobster boat races in the summer) and also the Schoodic Point Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park. Mt. Dessert Island and Bar Harbor are an easy trip around the bay.
