The Oltrarno area of Florence has a special village-like atmosphere. Located on a very small street within Florence's historic center pedestrian-friendly limited traffic zone, the street is closed to through traffic except local residents and delivery vehicles. The neighborhood is very convenient since it is an easy walk to sites, restaurants and cafes.

The apartment building is three stories high with two or three apartments per floor. The apartment is lofted style with the open bedroom overlooking the living room. It has a generously sized pleasant eat-in kitchen with Tuscan-style cabinetry, an attractive wooden round dining table. Once in the living room the dramatically high ceilings open up to the original antique beams above. It is a comfortable, moderate apartment with basic furniture. The living room sofa bed is queen size and can accommodate two. The apartment has wireless internet.

Up 10 steps to the sleeping loft with dual queen sized bed and bathroom. The dual queen is 3" wider than a North American queen. It can be made up together or as 2 single beds. There is generous wall-to-wall closet space and good bedside lighting for reading at night. Bedroom ceiling height is low, guests over 5'11' note. If you're over 6' you head will graze ceiling beams. A pretty Florentine hand-painted dresser provides even more clothing storage space.

The bathroom has a enclosed shower, sink, bidet and toilet. The bathroom is older, probably last renovated in the 1980's.

The apartment is on the second floor (U.S. designation), it is 26 steps up from the street door to the apartment door. No elevator.

Only a two minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio where you'll also find several good cafes clustered in the neighborhood areas at either end. The Uffizi Museum and Palazzo Pitti are a 5 minute walk. Because of the excellent historic location this is a popular neighborhood so you may hear the sound of people below out in the street when the windows are open but almost no traffic since it is a limited traffic zone and the street is very narrow.

The building where the Jacopo apartment is located dates back to the 15th century. Many small artisan craft workshops can be found as you wander the streets: leather craft shops, jewelry makers, furniture workrooms, upholsterers, bespoke shoe craftsmen, picture framers and the other fine Florentine arts.

Not included is Florence Hospitality tax and utilities €3.50/day paid in cash at check in.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great apartment for 2 people. Well equiped kitchen, and good space. Main bed located in upstair loft. Great location near to Ponte Vecchio on South Side. Owners helpful and available. Some street noise but definitely would go back to this location. Florence is much less crowded after October.

A great place to stay in Florence with access to everything.

  • 4 of 5

My husband, daughter and I stayed here nine days and it was the perfect Florence hub. It was cute, clean and comfortable - steps away from the Pointe Vecchio, on the other side of the Arno, so it a bit quieter and felt like we were part of the neighborhood. Very close to markets, shopping, and the Pitti Palace. Nice to come home to after long days of walking. We turned the air conditioning on at night, but opened the windows during the day. WiFi access was difficult, but there was a small cafe just a couple doors down where we could get online. Vivianna, our greeter, was lovely and gave us great information about the city. Would definitely stay again.

We’re sorry that you had trouble with the WiFi. We tested it after check out and it is working fine so perhaps the service provider was having some temporary issues. We hope to welcome you back again. The Italy Perfect Team

Perfect and in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the first two weeks of September at this gorgeous apartment. The location was perfect we were able to enjoy all the sights and the wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood, it was close to a supermarket as well as a lot of beautiful stores where we purchased many leather items for ourselves as well as gifts for our family. The owner greeted us and showed us around the apartment and left us a beautiful bottle of wine, sparkling water and some grapes to enjoy. He made it a very warm welcome to our first visit in Florence. The apartment had all the amenities that you would possibly need for a stay in Italy. I would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone who needs a perfect location and if we have the opportunity to return we would certainly rent this apartment again.

Location! Location! Location!

  • 4 of 5

Super location, great amenities included (shampoo, body wash, laundry and dish washing detergents, tissues, guidebooks, fruit and bottle of wine on arrival; grocery store nearby, very secure building, air conditioning, ceiling fan, dishwasher, washing machine and drying rack, wi-fi). Only one flight up; low ceilings in upstairs bedroom and bathroom). The men and women's hair stylist located next door was excellent and reasonably priced. Steps from Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio, fabulous restaurants. Easy to walk everywhere. We were met at the flat, guided through the apartment and informed of the local surroundings.

Beautiful apartment at a very convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Jacopo apartment is at a location that is central to everything. It is a simple short walk to Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Galleries, Palazzo Pitti, and the famous Florence Duomo. The owner and his father are kind and nice! They helped us settle in patiently when our flight got delayed significantly. The apartment is beautifully decorated and located at a very quaint historic area of Firenze. Nearby there are some great restaurants with very reasonable price. It could get a bit loud in the middle of hot summer nights because of AC condenser being inside the unit, as probably required by the city to maintain the pristine antique look of the buildings (we don't see condensers hanging outside the walls in any apartment in that historic area), however, it would be the same with any apartment in that beautiful historic area you stay. We had a good time staying at Jacopo. We could imagine that in Spring and Fall time that apartment would be a little gem.

Jacopo Apartment - Wonderful Facility

  • 5 of 5

Location is outstanding next to the Ponte Vecchio and nearly all sites are in walking distance. Lots of excellent restaurants abound around the apartment. Excellent grocery store (CONAD) right around the corner to stock up essential items to eat and maximize your stay at the apartment (which has all essential cooking facilities) should you chose to dine in.

Jacopo apartment is clean and the air-conditioner works along with WiFi.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Jacopo Apartment from Italy Perfect. Also, I recommend Italy Perfect as a reliable, responsible, and accountable organization to plan your vacation in Florence, Italy.

Location, Location, location!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed 10 days in the Jacopo apartment and couldn't have been more satisfied. The location is perfect, absolutely perfect, within walking distance of everything in Florence, and just a minute or two from the bridge. The orientation by the greeter was detailed and informative and left us with confidence for our stay. The information package sent by Italy Perfect was complete and helpful. Don't miss the weekend concerts on Ponte Vecchio, and the "Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Hot Dog" restaurant just around the corner: one of the best meals we had in 10 days. About the only disappointment we endured was no English TV, and many of the Italian stations did not work.

We highly recommend this apartment as one the very best choices for a Florence stay.
