There is easy access to Ogontz Lake less than a mile away for swimming, fishing, or boating in the summer and skating in the winter. ATV Trails are adjacent to the house and go around the lake. Ogontz Arts event center is a privately owned facility on Ogontz lake supporting many different arts organizations. During our summer season, children, families, and professionals in different arts fields gather to create and educate in music, dance and theatre. Ogontz also owns two private properties (distanced from its camp operation) that it rents to help defer the costs of its arts programming. Renting this property from us supports this venture.
Andrew Lidestri purchased this house in 1992
Although this property is only about 15 minutes from Littleton, it is secluded and beautiful and looks over a lake down the hill. The pictures are very accurate, so you know exactly what to expect. The property is clean and cozy. We stayed at the end of December, and although it was cold, snowy, and windy outside, we stayed warm and toasty. As stated in the description, it is a duplex with a kitchenette. As such, I would compare it to getting two rooms in a hotel. Having stayed in most of the hotels in the area, this is a much better option. You get the rooms, the spacious living room with fireplace and tv, the dining area, and the incredible view. And it’s much less expensive. Andrew, the caretaker, was very helpful and accommodating. He lives in the other part of the house, but other than a quick wave, we never saw him, so we felt that we had plenty of privacy and quiet which was just what we were looking for. Thanks Andrew!
The property can only be described as an awesome place to stay, Andrew, the property manager was great, the owner gracious, and the views of the mountain and lake were breathtaking! This Farmhouse had a gorgeous fireplace which we did not use because the temps were mostly in the 80s during our stay. My only regret was not having the time to kyak on the beautiful lake at camp Ogontz, which was made available to us during our stay. Wildlife was in abundance plenty of deer, and you could hear the low hooting of Bears in the evening exchanging pleasantries to each other during the cool evenings. Remarkable place, would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, thank you Andrew for accommodating us this summer!
