Comments: We were so happy to return again this year! It was wonderful to have more of our family stay in Columbia Cottage as well--we have made amazing memories for all the kids ( and adults and dogs too)!! Thank you.
We had rented the house for a week in June 2016 at the house and had an amazing week. The house is not very large but it was very clean and there is enough space for a family and the outdoor activities are great: there are various kayaks, a canoe, sailing boat, the dock is great for fishing and the house is very close to the beach which is easily accessible. The water temperature was quite pleasant. There is a lot of space around the house and our dog had a dream vacation as well. The owner was also really friendly and helpful. Finally, there is a lot to do in the area, so we would certainly recommend this house if you want to spend a week in NH.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Buddy's adorable niece and were joined shortly after by Buddy and his other niece. While Buddy showed us around the property the two girls helped hold our dogs' leashes as well as bring our stuff down from the parking lot to the cabin. The cabin is in impeccable condition and everything you could need is provided. There are plenty of kitchen items and appliances as well as extra blankets, pillows, etc. There are also dozens of board games and movies to enjoy on a rainy day (which we had none of!). My family's favorite activity was the boating, there are 2 single kayaks, a canoe and a rowboat available for use. We even had our two lab mixes out on the water with us! We also thoroughly enjoyed the badminton and ping pong table. Buddy was frequently around working on the property and was available if we had any questions. The property is secluded and has a huge grassy area, great for frisbee! The 'pond' itself is quite large as well, so don't be discouraged by the term. Overall my family LOVED staying at this property, especially the dogs, and we all highly recommend it! We stayed for 5 nights and only left the property once or twice. We would love to return next year as well! Thank you, Buddy!
We have been vacationing at Sunset Ranch Camp since 2010 and we couldn't be happier. Every year has been a fulfilling and satisfying vacation for our family of 2 adults, 3 children, 1 dog and this year, my mother joined us. Sunset Ranch Camp has everything for a fun and relaxing vacation. Our kids have thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the lake, jumping off the raft, fishing off the dock, kayaking, making S'mores, playing ping pong, tether ball, horseshoes, badminton, croquet, bocce ball and spending hours of fun playing with the games located in Smith Hall (puzzles, cards, board games and movies). Colby Cottage is always thoughtfully stocked with all the necessary amenities a family would need to cook and be comfortable for a week's stay. Buddy has thought of everything (even salt, pepper and cooking oil!) Every year my children look forward to coming to Sunset Ranch and as a mom, I LOVE the memories that these vacations are providing for our little ones. We can't thank you enough Buddy for being a wonderful host and allowing us to vacation on your pristine property overlooking a gorgeous lake (with loons!) and breath taking mountains. We will be back next summer and God willing, many more to follow! :)
This was exactly what our family needed! The house was impeccably clean. Our dogs were welcomed. The views of the lake are ever changing with beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the property.
We had the best time fishing off the dock and of course swimming with a great little beach area.
Buddy the host is absolutely wonderful. Love the history behind the property.
This is the place where great memories will be made for you and your family, cannot wait to go back!
