Comfortable and convenient condo location
The Hale Kamole condo resort is very well maintained and right across the road from Kamole lll beach. The condo is very spacious with two bedrooms and loft area (with 3 king beds). There are two bathrooms with showers (one up and one down). The property is aged (could use some updating), but very comfortable. Only down side was substandard work of the cleaning crew (I don’t blame the owner, because he is paying for a job that isn’t done properly). We spent an hour cleaning everything to our standards and had an enjoyable stay. Owner was great to deal with and even let us stay longer on our check out day (vs waiting at the airport), because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
These folks were very nice. My normal cleaning woman took ill and here sister did a less than desirable job so I had it re cleaned a second time to please the tenant and I gave them a free day as an accommodation.
We have two units in the project. One is completely remodeled.the other has been kept in the traditional Hawaii style with dark wood trim etc.
Never received any info from VRBO to check in! Thank goodness I had written down the property managers phone number!
Property is as advertised!
Thanks Tony for all your help!!! Bless you!!!
Problems sometimes arise for tenants and landlords with the VRBO website. Fortunately I live close by and was able to help these great folks.
Plastic Flower Condo
Pros: The condo was very well located. We had a partial view of the ocean and mountains, with a straight on view of the pool. The check-in process was very easy. The grounds were well maintained, including the cleaning the grills every morning, which we used several times during our stay. The condo had everything we needed to go to the beach, such as beach chairs and ocean toys. The best part of the condo was the washer, dryer, & dishwasher, which all worked well; thank goodness.
Cons: We went during the hottest season in Maui and the temperatures got into the 90's but the humidity made it feel in the 100's. We were really looking forward to a nice air-conditioned stay in Maui; that didn't happen. The air-conditioners were operational, barely; just better than a fan - poor. No operational vacuums; really – very bad? Inadequate brooms; only 1 small broom - not good. So, how exactly were we supposed to keep the condo clean? Especially since we weren't allowed to keep sandy items (such as our shoes, etc.) on/in the outside entrance way. Which leads me the worst aspect of our stay at this condo; constantly bothered by staff? Having them tell us we couldn’t leave sandy items outside (in the entrance way) and shake out the mats didn’t make sense; very, very bad. As well, why were there people coming around trying to take pictures of our entrance way? I made a point, when asked if I gave my permission, for this lady not to take my picture; she did so anyway – really bad. Besides, inadequate air conditioning, probably the worst part of the condo was the actual cleanliness; which goes back to your staff not allowing us to adequately keep it clean. In a related aspect of cleanliness, under the sink was disgusting & unsanitary; very, very, bad. The sink had a leak and a bucket collecting the water. Unfortunately, we did not discover the bucket until day seven and by that time it was too late. The interior décor was not good; dated and so much junk. When was the last time someone went through and decluttered. This in contrast to only having 4 bath towels & 2 hand towels for 8 people?
This was in a nutshell, our stay at your condo, or as we called it, The Plastic Flower Condo; looked good from a distance, but up close was essentially: well located, intrusive, overbearing, artificial, dated, cluttered, unsanitary, hard to keep clean, & hot.
After reading this review I puzzled as to why the lady never called me with her complaints until she mentions the staff taking photos. Then it struck me that she was among that class of tenants that sneak in 11 occupants illegally and naturally does not want to call me over to witness the extra free loaders and the damage they did. The staff counted 11 or more occupants when they paid for 5 and apparently the mess they made inside and outside the unit attracted the complaints of other tenants and our cleaning woman said the interior looked like a bomb went off. A normal cleaning takes 3 hours but I was billed for 7 hours!!! As for air conditioning these folks ran the air units with all the windows open! 24/7!!! So one compressor burned up and the other is also dysfunctional now. These are not commercial air conditioners like you find in a supermarket and no air unit is designed to air condition the great out doors. The plumber tells me they put a gallon of beef stew in the disposal that required repair that is why they put the bucket under it. Again never got a complaint!!! No one takes photos of folks that are quiet and not causing a mess for others to walk through!
Great Location, ocean and pool view
The property was in need of many repairs. Dryer didn't work and air conditioners in the 2 bedrooms old and not very effective. Sink in the main bathroom needs a stopper. The condo was very clean, pillows need to be replaced, downstairs closet was full of junk.
The location is wonderful, easy walk to Kamaole 3 beaches,
Tony the owner was easily reached and offered to fix the dryer. He tried to explain that the air-conditioners were OK,
they need to be replaced. Once the repairs and updates are done the condo would get a higher rating.
Pros: Location, cleanliness, elevator, quietness, Property manager accessability
Cons: Poor air-conditioners, bedding needs updating, mattresses are OK
this tenant was a nice fellow but he refused our attempts to replace the air units which worked but were timed to be replaced. The art work in the closet which he called junk was also to be removed but he refused us access saying it would be inconvenient.I think he wanted his privacy since he said nothing was a "big deal".We did fix the dryer within one hour of being notified. The sink stopper might have been adopted by the previous tenant since it was a colorful Hawaiian fish. this so;sometimes happens.
Great Deal, Great Condo, Great Location - A Pleasant “Sure Thing”
We arrived on April 25th of this year with our family of 5 for a 10 day stay. The place was a great find. The price was right. It’s a large comfortable condo with great ocean and mountain views. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and the appliances looked brand new. The high ceilings were a real nice plus. It was very quiet and we slept great! We could watch the kids from the lanai.
The location is fantastic. Everything is within walking distance. An additional bonus was the owner, Tony, who booked us. He’s local. I would call him a kind of concierge. He was courteous, helpful and very accommodating.
We travel as a family a couple of times a year and it’s always good when you find a place to stay in that’s a winner. We prefer to stay in condos. I would call this condo a “sure thing” and I can recommend it without hesitation to anyone.
