Beautiful Studio Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Casita Nancy was the perfect place to stay for my quick getaway to San Miguel. The apartment is impeccably decorated, bright and airy. The location was great as it’s in a quiet neighborhood (besides one rooster), and it's a quick 10 minute walk to the Jardin and even closer to restaurants and shops off Nemesio Diez and Zacateros. I so enjoyed my time there. Thanks Marc & Nancy!

Excellent location, wonderful apartment.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this property, we liked the location, close enough to walk to the center. The staff were helpful and quick to assist us with whatever we needed. The place was nicely furnished, we enjoyed using the kitchen, it worked great for our breakfasts and lunches. When we arrived there was a delicious snack with wine for us to enjoy. The shower was great, lots of hot water. The bed was comfy. I would recommend bringing ear plugs as there are roosters around. The room did not have black out shades so if you enjoy a dark room for sleeping bring along eye patches as well.

Nice clean accommodations located in a quiet neighborhood apart from the roosters.

We enjoyed coffee and cinnamon buns at Cafe Monet a short walk down the hill and to the left. The park was lovely for a stroll. Be sure to check out the Tuesday market, you will need to take a cab.

Unforgettable experience!

  • 5 of 5

I had the privilege to stay four months in this amazing apartment. It is close to downtown and it is easy to get to the main attractions by walking. Both Nancy and Mark were very helpful with suggestions on restaurants and activities. I have to mention, that if I reported an issue, it was resolved rapidly and efficiently.

I also found the staff to be of service if I had any questions. I was very appreciative of Augustina who cleaned meticulously the apartment. Noe, the handyman, had been learning English so it made it easier to communicate since I barely speak Spanish. However, I must mention that all of them are very nice people and you will find out that most people living in San Miguel de Allende (SMA) have a very respectful and jovial personality.

What surprised me the most in living in this beautiful town is that you will sometime hear roosters, music, fireworks, bells of any kinds but this is part of the typical Mexican experience. It is part of the culture and for most people living in SMA, it will be the common experience. The good news, after, a while you do not notice it as much.

I am very grateful for how I was welcomed by Marc and Nancy. They are part of the beautiful memories that I will carry with me for a long time. It is an inspiring and gorgeous place to live in. I loved the light, ceiling height and the view out of the bedroom windows. I was here to reconnect with myself but I found so much more than I expected. I would certainly repeat this experience and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to rent this apartment.

Happy memories

  • 5 of 5

Nancy, thank you for our stay at your studio. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Coming from our previous rental in San Miguel by the Rosewood, it was a pleasure to have a lush, comfortable mattress, luxury linens, and a quality heater. My husband took a picture of me luxuriating on the bed and had it painted into a portrait. It is quite lovely if I say so myself. Happy memories! Your studio is beautifully decorated and charming, and your degree in designs shows. The view of the courtyard and the soothing fountain from the bedroom windows was lovely. Playing with your dogs was an added bonus. Your gardener/handiman takes good care of them, and your housekeeper was pleasant and helpful.

You are a dynamo realtor. We do not think anyone has your work ethic. You showed us lots, and we are delighted with the home we have in San Miguel. Thank you so much again. We look forward to seeing you and your husband again.

Really nice apartment - just check the details

  • 4 of 5

There is much to like about this apartment and our stay was overall very pleasant. Still there are some features to think about if you plan a longer stay. The location is a nice compromise. Apartments in the center will be smaller for the same price. We were about an 18 minute walk from the main plaza and about 25 minutes from our Spanish school. The apartment itself is equipped with an extremely comfortable king-sized bed and a good shower with abundant hot water. The kitchen is attractive and adequate for cooking some meals but lacked an assortment of saucepans and utensils for more serious cooking. We solved this by paying the house’s cook to buy and prepare three or four meals a week. By the way, we arrived to San Miguel late at night the first day and the cook had left a soup and bowl of guacamole for us. Very gracious touch. The ad for this apartment mentions prominently that six breakfasts are included. There was some misunderstanding about this, which I think is now cleared up, since the housekeeper and the cook did not seem to know about this arrangement. The apartment is attached to the much bigger main house and the ad for the apartment shows pictures of the top-floor deck of the main house and describes many of the features of the main house which do not apply to the apartment. During our month stay there were no guests in the main house for the first 25 days, so it was no problem to arrange with the staff to have access to the two decks so that we could enjoy drinks in the afternoon or read and sunbathe. The last few days other guests arrived in the main house and we were told we would no longer enjoy access to the main house. For such a short time this was not a problem but would have been if it had happened at the beginning of our stay. Perhaps the last caveat to mention is the telephone service. The apartment is equipped with a phone which is convenient for local phone calls. For all calls outside of the city we used Skype. At the end of our stay we emailed the owner to request the sizable security deposit back. We were told that we would have to wait two and one half months to make sure there were no long distance calls charged. I have never experienced anything like this before. I have spent a fair bit of time on the small annoyances of our stay and in a way that gives too much weight to them. The overall impression was very favorable. For those not counting on a sunny balcony it represents very good value.
