Perfectly located gorgeous Mediterranean home. The most convenient location between downtown, State Street shops, restaurants & beaches. 5 mins to downtown, Hope Ranch & one of Santa Barbara's best beaches. Minutes to harbor, wharf, parks, & shopping. Sunny, warm microclimate.
Master bedroom is a spacious suite with a loft/office, vaulted ceilings, TV & private enclosed patio with Italian-style fountain. The gourmet kitchen has custom cabinets, granite counters & island with modern appliances including instant hot & filtered water. The large living room has a dramatic stone wood-burning fireplace, entertainment center, French doors, beveled glass & very comfortable furnishings with antiques scattered throughout. The garden is full of tropical plants, with hot tub, fenced secure back yard & large lawn. Pet friendly.
I live in Santa Cruz CA & work part-time as an ICU nurse. I have 2 wonderful grown children and 2 very handsome Labradors. My favorite activities are hiking with my dogs, scuba diving, golfing & traveling. I come to Santa Barbara to stay in my beautiful house whenever I can afford the time & vacancy.
Catherine Crane purchased this house in 2006
My house is extremely comfortable, spacious & relaxing, convenient but away from downtown noise & tourist traffic. It is a safe family neighborhood. Once you're there you never want to leave!
We (grandma, kids and grandkids, ages 10 and 12) had a lovely time. The house was comfortable, great fire place and hot tub.
We had an amazing long weekend at Catherine's property this Thanksgiving. We've stayed in a LOT of rentals and I can honestly say this was one of the most well-appointed. It was shockingly cold/rainy on two of the days but there were plenty of blankets as we snuggled up by the fire so it didn't bother us at all. Basics like salt/pepper, ice, toilet paper and paper towels were all provided (I consider that pretty great compared to some of the more bare bones rentals I've done). BUT she also had plenty of spare towels, beach towels for the spa, 2 bikes, coffee grinders/makers, blender, the washer and dryer was accessible so we could do a load of laundry if we needed and we got to use fresh lemon from the back yard.
Bonus points for it being all one story. My dog is older and has arthritis and I just underwent knee surgery so not having to battle stairs was lovely.
For humans, she's got cards, board games, and cable, plus hot tubbing under the stars can't be beat! The dogs loved having room to run around outside.
FYI if you're planning to Wine Taste or shop in downtown SB, the house is very close. Spare yourself from parking and driving: Uber or Lyft from the house are totally affordable!
We basically just wanted to cook/eat, drink wine, and play board games this house was more than perfect. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a nice 1 week vacation renting the house with our 2 golden retrievers. The house is a nice size, well maintained, has a lot of amenities including a nice yard for relaxing. The location is close to downtown Santa Barbara, Hendry Beach, and everything we wanted to see was within a 5 mile radius including museums, great restaurants, the Mission, State Street, and the Botanical Gardens.
Four of us and two kids were in Santa Barbara for a wedding and stayed 4 nights at Catherine's great home. We arrived at a very clean and spacious house. The back yard was wonderful, especially with the kids ( 3 1/2 and 2) - nicely landscaped and relaxing.
The house was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils - nice grill outside, nicely furnished and in a nice neighborhood. The loft in the master bedroom is definitely off limits for little kids. There were plenty of beach towels and some beach chairs. All in all we were very pleased with our stay!
Some of my mom friends and I recently planned a kid-free weekend getaway to Santa Barbara and stayed at this property. It was very clean, spacious, and the owner was descriptive on how to use and find the items throughout the property. It was a relatively quiet location that helped us relax! (Of course the jacuzzi helped with that too). Thanks for a great stay!
Catherine was wonderful throughout our entire stay. The house was amazing. It is layed out beautifully and is super comfortable. We loved spending time in the backyard.
Other Activities: wine tasting, zoo, friendly dog parks, fiestas & parades nearly every weekend during the summer, farmers markets, best restaurants & local ice cream
