We are a very active couple who enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, mountain-biking, fishing, hiking, golfing and the outdoor lifestyle. When chosing a vacation home we immediately fell in love with Pagosa and this cabin in particular. Why come to the mountains to stay in a condo? It was so close to town and yet so private. Sitting on our deck we enjoy seeing the birds, deer, an even an occasional bobcat. Being here is just a great experience. We've decorated with country and mountain decor and both the house and deck are thoroughly relaxing after our long days in the great outdoors!

What makes this Cabin unique
We love that the house is so close to downdown yet still so private. It is in small neighborhood of homes on 3+ acres. It's even a beautiful drive to arrive here from town.

Perfect Christmas get-a-way!!
Delightful home nestled in the evergreens! What a wonderful home to have spent our Christmas vacation in. House had everything we needed. Loved sitting by the warm fire drinking hot chocolate, walking through the area surrounding the house. There is an outlook across the field from the cabin, overlooking a beautiful valley. Would love to stay again in the near future! This is one cabin everyone needs to visit!!
This is a wonderful property! The land is gorgeous and the wrap around porch is amazing! The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to cook or grill. The fire pit is great as well. We didn't use the room above the garage but we peeked in there and it's newly remodeled and is a great space. Thank you Sid for your hospitality, we'll be back!
The Albers Family
Beautiful secluded location with access to plenty of family -friendly activities.
We rented this cabin for 4 days and we had an excellent stay! We had two families (4 parents and 4 kids) and everyone was comfortable. We had privacy and plenty of room to spread out. The kids (3 girls and 1 boy in their teens/early twenties) slept in the room over the garage and the parents each had their own room. Everyone said the beds were fairly comfortable and the home was stocked with essentials.
Our favorite part of the house was the scenery. We had mule deer walk right up to us while we were around the fire at night and the view of the stars was amazing. Had quite a few hummingbirds visit us as well. The only thing missing is a hot tub to sit in while viewing the scenery!
There are so many things to do in Pagosa Springs, but here are a few of the activities we enjoyed: dinner at the local brewery, antique shopping, golfing, horseback riding, a lot of hiking, hiking, and more hiking! We even found a trail with snow for our son to enjoy (he loves the winter time). This would be a great place to stay while skiing too!
The grocery stores in town had very reasonable prices and fresh produce. We cooked using the magnificent stove in the cabin almost every night and enjoyed ice cream at the malt shop in town! We wish we would have stayed for an entire week because there was so much more to do and see, but we plan on coming back!
Gorgeous views, gorgeous cabin...perfect in every way!!
I have a family of 4 with two young kids and this cabin in Pagosa Springs is absolutely perfect. The house is gorgeous, clean, well appointed and secluded. The owners are wonderful to work with and very responsive, they made sure our visit was memorable and it was. I promise you will find no other place in Pagosa as beautiful as this... we are already making arrangements to come back next year. This cabin has spoiled us....
Perfect winter retreat
We rented this house for our family to share with another family for our annual ski trip and it worked out perfectly! Quiet get-away with a GREAT kitchen. Owner is very kind, caring and attentive to your needs before, during and after stay. The local Property Manager is also very kind and helpful. We'd stay here again for sure. :)
Note: If going during the snowy season, would recommend 4WD, AWD, chains or snow tires. One of our vehicles would not have made it up to the house without chains (we know this because they had to go back to town to buy chains). The vehicles with 4WD and super snow tires did fine.
Beware the icy driveway at night after sunny days when driveway melt occurs. :)
Whitney-we are happy your family had a wonderful time and based on the photos you sent us the kids really enjoyed the snow, sledding, building snow men and an igloo.
FWD, AWD or chains are always a good idea in the mountains in the winter...especially this year when we had massive, heavy, wet snow throughout the region. But the positive side is a near record snow base on the ski slopes.
Great place for a small family
My family picked this house because it is located close to the Wolf Creek ski slopes. Based on the description and location it was ideal. The house is very welcoming and very cosy when it is cold outside. The garage is a big plus when there is snow so you don't have to clean the car every morning. The neighbors are super friendly and look after each other when there is too much snow to leave the place. There are a few observations that would have made our stay better if we had known that earlier or if the description had been a little better. The website says that it accommodates 8 people, but since 2 beds are located above the detached garage area, the main house itself is actually not too spacious for a family of 4 where the children have to share a bed. We also experienced significant challenges getting to and from the house without snow chains in December. It would be very useful to highlight and recommend to have those to all visitors coming at winter time so they are aware of the steep road and the potential challenges to the house. The heating works fine and keep the house warm no problem but there is only one in the entire house. Therefore in order to get the warmth to each room we had to keep all bedroom doors open and leave the ceiling fan on to push the warmer air downstairs. Also in December, due to the extreme amount of snow, which we enjoyed very much, we experienced regular power cuts in the house and a couple of occasions this happened after sunset. A few more candles (we found only 1) for this purpose would be very useful to feel more relaxed when this happens.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your helpful comments. We are sorry you had difficulty on the road up and heard from our property manager that the snow was unusually heavy and broke tree limbs which fell across power lines throughout the area causing the power outages. In all the time we have been renting over Christmas, yours is the only issue anyone has had with the roads. We provided a battery lantern in the house to use in case of power outages. Perhaps it was misplaced by a previous guest. We have subsequently provided a new lantern and several more large candles.
There are 3 space heaters in the bath and guest bedroom closet, in case guests feel they want the bedrooms warmer as well as extra down comforters in the closet. The description of the house indicates there are 4 queen beds, two in main house and two in garage bedroom, so we’re sorry you missed that and were inconvenienced. We will take to heart your recommendations and hope you consider a future stay!
Easy walking, biking, snowshoeing and hiking access to National Forest up Fawn Gulch Road. Close to fly-fishing spots on the East and West Fork and in town on the trout stocked San Juan Great birding and wildlife viewing from the back and side porches with ample seating. This is a wonderful area close to downtown Pagosa.
