This totally remodeled studio condo (Hanalei Bay Resort, Unit 3105) overlooks beautiful Bali Hai, the pearl of Kauai's North Shore. Watch the surfers on Hanalei Bay as you enjoy a leisurely breakfast sitting on teakwood chairs on the slate covered lanai, then go visit the island sights, but be sure to get back in time for the sunsets!
This studio unit is a one-of-a-kind within the complex! Accessible parking is just a few feet away from this first floor unit. The condo has been totally refurbished and nicely appointed with a modern Polynesian touch. The unobstructed view of Bali Hai is usually described by the guests as breathtaking. The beauty of the unit itself, the view of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai and the accessibility and convenience of this unit make for an unparalleled combination. And it’s all within the fabulous Garden of Eden of the North Shore, the Hanalei Bay Resort.
After a day of sight-seeing you might enjoy soaking in the large hot tub surrounded with travertine tile, or take a shower if that is your style. Two guests are easily accommodated in the unit. The thick pillow-topped Murphy bed assures a good night’s rest after a busy day of sightseeing. Oh, and yes, there are coolers, snorkeling gear, and some beach toys for the little ones. Oh, and I just added an iHome® Kineta Bluetooth® FM Alarm Clock Radio and Speaker for your listening pleasure.
This studio has a full kitchen. And, of course, all the counter tops are granite. Air conditioning is only needed once in a while, but it’s there if you need it. Check your email on the free Wi-Fi. A beautiful beach shared with the new St. Regis Hotel for great swimming and snorkeling is just a short walk away. And it’s all in close walking distance to all the fabulous HBR. Amenities like restaurant/bar/free parking very near the condo/tennis/pool. And, something many condos don't have: a built-in washer and dryer!
And for those of you who have read my reviews—good news! Yes, I have replaced the mattress. I think it is perfect, kind of firm, but nice and soft on top. I think you will like it! Secondly, I have significantly increased your options for storing your clothes and things, BUT, if you are staying more than a few days, and you like to unpack and put your then a few items in a spacious dresser, you will be disappointed.
NOTE: This is a Studio, is does NOT have a separate bedroom. It has a bathroom, a full kitchen, and a large room with a sofa, a queen-size Murphy bed, and a dining area with table and four chairs. One of the photos shows how the condo is configured.
And finally, I reluctantly need to inform you of two fees: First, the resort charges a $18/daily Resort Fee collected upon checkout, and Secondly, in case you didn’t notice it, VRBO/HomeAway charges a 5-10% Service Fee. Sorry, about these.
We also have another (adjoining) studio condo that sleeps two with a California king size bed and an exotic two-person shower. Check it out on VRBO 177160 or HomeAway 911447, and contact me for prices and more information on that unit, which might be available when this one is not.
Audrey and I live in Sacramento, and spend as much time as possible in Kauai. We had a nice condo in building 2 at HBR but Audrey wanted (OK, insisted on!) a better view of the waves rolling in so we bought this unit in 2006, and have been very pleased with the view of the surf and of Bali Hai. The owner was just in the process of totally remodeling it, and we think he did a nice job.
Dale Carlson purchased this studio in 2005
This unit is located very close to the parking lot and the pool, and is still very quiet and tranquil.
This is a beautiful resort location with everything you could need! Full kitchen, comfortable bed, and an amazing view of the mountains and ocean. It's also conveniently located to the parking lot, so you have easy access to and from the condo. We really enjoyed our stay. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the tub/bathroom hadn't been cleaned well and there was some confusion at check-in (neither of these are the owners fault). Also, the walls are paper thin - you can hear everything from the neighbors. Luckily our neighbors were courteous, but we could hear even quiet conversations.
My fiancee and I had such a great stay here. We walked in the front door and immediately walked straight out to the patio to gaze at the sun setting over Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai. The murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable and we both slept great. The AC worked like a charm. I will say that the only minimal downside is that there's no real closet/dresser area and the walls are pretty thin but the overall value for the unit was fantastic.
The patio was a great place to have some coffee and lookout over Hanalei Bay and say hello to the passing Nenes. The full kitchen worked well and was everything we could've wanted on a 5-night stay.
We would absolutely come back and stay in this unit again!
Amazing view! Perfect little kitchen for cooking some meals. Great resort atmosphere and beautiful pool.
The view is amazing and nobody walks past your lanai as you are on a ledge in the front so it is perfect, private and secluded yet the entrance is steps from the parking lot, pool and main lobby. Happy Talk is a minute walk (at my fast pace!) St Regis is right next doir, via the beach, but the concierege there told us that lots of their guests come to Happy Talk each evening! Reviews that mention the roosters - get over it - this is Kauai and they are everywhere. We keep chickens so we loved the roosters nearby but were pleasantly surprised by the Nene - geese - hopefully people that come to Kauai, choose this island over others because of the unbelievable nature - and therefore geese saying hi when you are eating breakfast on the lanai is a blessing!
What a great little condo. The view was amazing. We didn't spend much time on the lanai as the bugs were out since it was so rainy and damp. The view can't be beat. It is stunning. We loved having a little kitchen and the washing machine was an unanticipated benefit. The owner was awesome to work with and was very responsive. There is a closet full of beach gear. The facilities are wonderful. We drove around a lot and this resort was the best one around. The pool can't be beat and of course the view from the condo is stunning. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing that would make it better would be a few more restaurants. We found the kitchen quite useful as there was only one option within walking distance. We stopped at Costco on our way for food and drinks and we were so glad we did. This condo is a gem and the north shore is so gorgeous. Rainy but gorgeous.
We loved our stay at this fantastic little condo! The lanai was a perfect place for our morning coffee, and the condo itself is very well situated on the resort (near the pool and happy talk lounge, easy walk to the beach access, did we mention the view???) The in unit w/d was a plus (we got pretty muddy on our Na Pali coast hike). The only negatives were that it was difficult at times to find parking in the lot, but the hotel staff was very accommodating with allowing guests to park in the valet lot (which is really not that much further away). Also, be advised we couldn't find any dresser space, so if you aren't ok with living out of your suitcase, this could be a problem--- we were ok using the suitcase racks and table. This condo affords lots of privacy and was a great fit for our first trip to Kauai.
The view from the unit cannot be beat...opportunities for lots of beautiful sunsets and turquiose blue water in the mornings. It was nice to have a kitchen, stocked with pots and pans, however the unit was very tiny. Suitcases had to be in the kitchen which was awkward. We had trouble with the washing machine in the unit (even if you want to run a cold cycle, the water was blazing hot...which makes me think the water hoses are only hooked up to the hot water). The faucet in the tub was extremely confusing and the hand held sprayer kept coming off the wall onto your feet. Despite all of these oddities, and the fact that the unit needs some updating, the location and view were amazing. The property itself is nice and there is a paved trail down to Pu'u Poa Beach which is rare considering the condition of most trails down to beaches on Kauai.
