What to Wear & Climate: Montauk is very casual and laid back compared to 'The Hamptons' but does require shoes at most stores and restaurants. Bathing suits, walking shoes and athletic clothes are a must. Nights can be chilly–pack a warm sweatshirt or sweater, even in the summer. Those Montauk breezes make you feel cool, but you still need a high SPF sunblock, even on a cloudy day. Summer temperatures average in the high 80s by day, going down to the high 60s to low 70s by night. Prevailing winds from the Southwest keep even the higher temperatures comfortable. Water temperatures average in the 70’s in summer. Spring arrives late due to the ocean’s moderating effect on temperature, which also causes fall to linger into November and winters to be generally mild.
SHOPS - Air & Speed Surf Shop, Tracy Feith Beach Shop, Montauk Beach Store.
RESTAURANTS - The Harvest, Rushmeyers, Joni's, Duryea's, The Gigshack, The Dock, Dave's Grill.
NIGHTLIFE - The Dock, The Surf Lodge, Shagwong, The Backyard @ Sole East, Star Island Yacht Club & Cyril's.
HEALTH & FITNESS - Montauk Wellness Center, Gurneys Inn & Spa, Montauk Bike Shop and several yoga choices.
I have spent every summer in Montauk since 1975 as a child. I was fortunate enough to purchase this new custom home in 1999 in order to recreate my childhood for my wife and daughters. We have spared no expense to decorate and care for our home so we are looking to share the same experience with the right guests. Check out any and all of our FIVE Star Reviews as I know you will have a positive experience from the moment we speak through your entire visit.
Christopher Yula purchased this house in 1999
Built new in 1999, our home possesses the highest quality products within. Gourmet kitchen, brass hardware and every creature comfort make our home one of a kind. This lot, a block from the beach, was the lot my mother wanted to purchase before my father talked her out of it for another up the street so it seemed to be density for us.
You can hear the ocean's roar from any room in our home. We are minutes away from the most beautiful beach in Montauk. With a winter view of the ocean, any month is amazing. Our favorites are June, September and October once the crowds have dwindled and the water temperatures are still swimable.
Our group had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful home! The house is well kept and has everything we needed.
The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The living space is gorgeous and very open and airy.
The owner was a please to deal with. He was so very helpful and made it a point to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed.
Location to beach is awesome and town is just a couple minutes up the road.
We hope to rent this house again!!! It was truly perfect!!!
We enjoyed our stay in this home. It was just as described and super clean. The house is spacious and equipped with everything you need.
The location is perfect! Close to the beach (walking distance) and also close to town.
Chris was a delight to work with and couldn't have been more helpful! He is filled with info on places to go to eat or spend rainy days. He was always more than willing to answer questions or help out in any way.
We look forward to renting this house again.
The house is impeccable and well maintained. It is clean, beautiful and in a fantastic location. Everything one would need is there and the house is so cozy for those bad weather days (and has Apple TV so a rainy day can be accompanied with movies!)
Chris was a true pleasure to work with. He had so much to offer about the area and the restaurants. Both he and the caretaker, Jane, were so helpful and pleasant. They are friendly and truly care that the renters have the best stay possible. I felt so comfortable teaching out to either of them with questions.
I cannot say enough how happy we were with this house and with working with Chris. We can't thank him enough!!!
Our family rented this beautiful home for 2 weeks in September. The large sunny open living space made us feel instantly at home. Perfect location minutes to the beach - easy drive to town or to the highway to explore the Hamptons/Sag Harbor. All of the amenities were top notch and like new including many beach chairs, umbrellas, washer/drier, tons of linens. One of our favorite amenities was the outdoor shower! We were there with 2 small children so had many nights eating in using the grill or stove and felt like home. Chris was very responsive to texts and checked in on us and provided recommendations to eat in the area. Jane who checked us in was lovely. We would definitely recommend to a friend and would love to go back!!
We discovered this home last year and loved it so much that we booked again for this summer. Similar to our experience last year, the home was exactly what we needed for our family - plenty of space, minutes from the beach and beautifully maintained. We look forward to renting again next summer!
For decades Montauk has been considered the un-Hamptons; a sleepy fishing village with the most beautiful coastline. Residents of Montauk, range from families, deep-sea fishermen, surfers, artists, actors, and all others who share a deep love for the area and the discreet laidback nature it provides. Only 125 miles east of NYC, Montauk offers secluded or lifeguard protected beaches, engaging restaurants with fresh catches of the day and just enough space to get lost when you want to. Make some memories with us.
