We are so pleased you are thinking about renting our cottage. Located on three acres of woodland just outside Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, the cottage easily houses six adults in its three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a lovely screened in porch and two-tiered deck for relaxing. Spend a nice weekend relaxing in this quiet setting or get together with family and friends. Three night minimum stay required.
Historic property of the Civil War era: Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a 2,923 acre National Battlefield that preserves a key Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. Over 67,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or captured during this campaign. The Park today has many hiking trails, including a trail to the top of Kennesaw Mountain, at 1800 feet, the highest point in the Atlanta metro area. You can walk up the 700 feet from the Visitor Center to summit, or take the bus!
Civil War Relics found on property: Based on the remnants of trench lines and skirmish pits we have found on our property, we know that it was a site of significant combat during the battle. We have found many Civil War relics on our property, including bullets, buttons, buckles and the like. You are of course welcome to walk the property, but we request that you leave it undisturbed. We consider all relics on the place to be part of the property.
A stay at this wonderful home was a perfect fit for two sisters and one brother and their spouses, coming from out of state to attend our niece's wedding. It had everything we needed. The home is tastefully appointed and the surrounding property is so beautiful and peaceful. Ruth and Rodney were very accommodating in the rental process and described the place in detail so we knew what to expect. It, in fact, exceeded expectations. We will definitely be back and would recommend it as a great family getaway spot.
We loved our stay. Adorable home hidden in the forest but close to everything. The homeowner takes great pride in their home and makes sure all your needs are met. Would definitely rent again if we find ourselves in the area. Would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone staying in the Marietta area.
We really enjoyed a family holiday in this comfortable and cozy home.
The master bedroom was enormous with a king sized bed and a wonderful attached bath. The shower was visually gorgeous, and an attached huge dressing room and closet were great for unpacking.
The kitchen, although small was well stocked and functional. A dining room with a large dining table enabled us to have family style meals. A big window showcased the back yard, and brightened the room.
An ajoining pantry and laundry room were welcome addition for extra spices, and cleaning materials.
The heart of the home, the family room and large fireplace was the center of our family fun. It was a rainy week and the fireplace was much appreciated. The room was comfortable with large chairs, a couch and a built-in bookcase loaded with a variety of books. We appreciated the many historical books and books related to the civil war.
The attached screened porch was a great space to look at the natural habitat, and the nearby stream. While we visited we saw at least 4 deer. We did see a large buck with a beautiful set of antlers!
The two other bedrooms were nicely done. Both rooms had their own separate baths.
So, we had a wonderful experience and thank our hosts Ruth and Rodney for a memorable holiday.
What a wonderful place to stay. A true home away from home. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable with plenty of room. Very neat and clean. The screened in porch is fabulous. We will definitely visit again. Loved it!
Tucked away but convenient to so much! Fully equipped vacation home and the owners are so accommodating. We enjoyed a spectacular meteor shower on the back deck in the Adirondack chairs with tikis blazing. I knew it was going to be a great stay when 4 deer greeted me in the back yard the first day. Thank you Bowers!
