About The Owner

Lives in Tallahassee, and enjoys coming down to St George Island 90 minutes away. Had always wanted a place on the island, and loves bringing her teens down for body surfing, kayaking and eating seafood. Favorite early morning activity: riding bikes down into the state park at the end of the island and watching the early light change over the sea oats and water.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why The Owner chose Florida

Beautiful peaceful view to bay on one end, walk out the back to restaurants, grocery store, lighthouse.

What makes this house unique

Best location for beauty plus ease.

When you drive onto island, the house is one block over.

Around the corner from fishing pier, boat launch.

One of the newest houses on the island.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We enjoyed our stay at the Bay's Window at St. George Island. It was a great size to bring family and had plenty of room. St. George Island Vacation Properties made check in and out easy and made the location easy to find. We brought our own bikes and explored the island. We ate at many of the restaurants in the area and later found the little country store that was just one block over to have many great things to cook. Location was great and was centrally located on the island. We strolled out to the pier on the bay side and the beach was just two blocks over on the other. Great place to watch the sunset. Only draw back was mosquitoes in the evening. Just remember to bring bug spray or wipes and you will fine. -"

Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spend several wonderful days at Bay's Window. We walked several blocks to buy fresh seafood from a local vendor (Doug's Seafood, near the lighthouse), travelled to Apalachicola for lunch one day and stopped by the local brewery (Oyster City Brewing Co.). The centralized location is great, with the beach and amenities just a walk away.

Relaxing Get a Way!

  • 5 of 5

Upon arriving at Bay's Window, I felt a sense of relaxation. Away from the crowd, but a close enough stroll to local restaurants and sightseeing. A beautiful 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath which has a clean modern beach decor. I went with 3 adults and myself, which was a comfortable space for us to move all around freely. Outside in the back you can see the magnificent Gulf and plenty of windows to get a peak from the bedrooms. The seafood restaurant was delicious and fresh on the same road as the house and close enough to walk if needed. I rode the house's beach gliders to the local pizza parlor and it was very tasty. The lighthouse was fun to take a tour of and of course the National Park on the beach was breathtaking! Definitely worth the stay! I would recommend Bay's Window to a relaxing stay for anyone!

My wonderful stay at Bay's Window!

  • 5 of 5

My 7 year old daughter and I spent three glorious day at this beach house. The view of the bay from the porch is so beautiful. You can watch a bald eagle nest in a nearby tree and watch other beautiful wading birds in the bay. A triple screen prevents any bugs from intruding your time on the porch which makes for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

The house is beautiful and newly constructed. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities. The beach is literally a few minutes’ walk with stairs and a ramp for access. There are shops nearby for all the necessities and a wonderful beach side restaurant that is easy to take the kids to.

Also a beautiful working lighthouse is a block away that you can climb to the top and get a full view of all of St. George. There is also a small gift shop at the bottom along with some great history lessons and handouts throughout.

To add to the creature comforts of the house there is a full shower and sink right when you walk into the carport for full rinsing and towel hanging. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommending staying!

Fantastic Stay at Bay's Window! Thanks!

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay at Bay’s Window last week. With three adults and one young one, there was plenty of room for all. The house appeared clean and neat and had a very modern look, yet comfortable feel. The kitchen had all of the cooking utensils we required to prepare delicious meals, most of them based on local seafood (shrimp, crab, oysters, and grouper were all eaten). The water hadn’t quite warmed up enough for swimming, but we were still able to enjoy walks on the beach, walks around the shops on the island and several nice bike rides. We visited the state park at the eastern end of the island and it’s a jewel. What a great place to see shore birds, sand dunes and sunrises. The fishing should be great too when the water is a bit warmer. Just across the bridges, on the mainland, lies the town of Apalachicola. We ate at several fantastic restaurants (Up The Creek Raw Bar has veggie options, The Owl has great food and beverages, The Verandas has great food too) and went in a number of neat shops. The working waterfront was quite a sight. We can’t wait to return to Bay’s Window as soon as we can.
