We are a fun couple who love to travel. We enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. It is our attention to detail that will make your stay a great one!
Lesley Webb purchased this studio in 2009
We believe this is San Diego's best kept secret neighborhood. We are surrounded by million dollar historic homes and one of San Diego's most beautiful views of the city's skyline. We wouldn't trade it for anything!
Our property is so centrally located you are literally minutes from everything and anything in San Diego!
It was close to familiar restaurants and I stumbled across the house my sister lived in in grad school. Easy access and parking.
Overall, it was a lovely stay! The bed was super comfortable, and it had everything we needed. Great water pressure in the shower - much appreciated.
This is such a great little place! Absolutely perfect location in a beautiful neighborhood. (For anyone familiar with Denver, this neighborhood is a lot like Wash Park.)
The unit was very clean, well kept, and a nicely equipped studio apartment. The owner provided very clear instructions on how to find the place. And you must follow her instructions and not your GPS because the entrance is on an alleyway and not the main street.
We stayed for San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 and this was the best little oasis to get away from the hectic excitement of Comic-Con. With all the windows open at night all we could hear was normal neighborhood noises, insects and such.
We quickly figured out that just about anything we needed could be found somewhere along 30th Street: Von's (same as Safeway) grocery store is just a couple miles away. And especially really good restaurants! Breakfast - Big Kitchen (but they only take cash or checks). Lunch - Tacos Perla. Dinner - Alexander's: The food is dreamy and you'll have leftovers. Which thankfully this apartment has a fridge!
This unit does not have air conditioning and given that it is in San Diego I thought that would be fine. But, San Diego had a heat wave while we were here. We were ok with windows and a fan our first couple nights, but the third night we baked. Thankfully, when we contacted the owners, they brought up a portable air conditioner!
This location is next to everything you want to see in and around San Diego. I would totally book this place again and I will tell all my friends about it.
My husband and I stayed here for 2015 San Diego Comic Con and thought it was the perfect respite for our busy days.
The studio is a very cozy space and I think the photos do showcase the layout very well. Keep in mind that the studio is on the second floor, so you will be going up and down a flight of stairs so pack accordingly. There is a parking spot right next to the gate / stairs which is very nice. Unfortunately during our stay, the renters using the main house used our spot a few times, but no worries! There are plenty of spots to park off the street adjoining the alley.
The owners do have pets which we thought was nice as we ourselves have cats. One fluffy gray cat made his home with us in the studio and he was the absolute sweetest guy. If cats are not your thing, do not fret! They really seemed to keep to themselves and were not bothersome. I think because we interacted with him first is why we saw him so often, so do not be detracted by this.
The only setback for my trip is that we were expecting a package shipped to us instead of attempting to fly it over. Because the studio is in the back, all parcels are delivered to the front of the house (so I would recommend that you do not have anything shipped unless you work it out with the owners first). The owners had rented the entire property and were away, but they were very helpful in trying to coordinate a way for me to contact the other renters to see if they had picked it up.
Their mother had come by to feed the cats outside in the morning (she was VERY quiet and I bumped into her early in the morning as I had just went out to our car). She and I have the same first name, so she had retrieved the parcel along with the owner’s mail. We laughed at the coincidence.
The area itself is quiet and really just a lovely setting for a vacation. I would recommend staying here if you need a little nook to call your own.
My husband and I stayed for week while we attended a conference at the Convention Center. It was perfect for us as we really don't like staying in hotels! Lesley and Matt have made the condo a little home! Bed was comfy and we had everything we needed. 😀 Our daily commute into the Gaslamp was quick and painless. Even parking was only $5 at the parking lot beside Petco Park. Loved the restaurants (Lefty's and True North) that are very close by! We were able to eat in as well sing the hot plate and the microwave and toaster. The only thing I suggest is bring beach towels if you are beaching it..... location is PERFECT for sightseeing! 😀😀 thanks Lesley and Matt!
My husband and I stayed for the long weekend. A great location close to Little Italy, North Park and Gaslamp District. Nice quiet studio that was very roomy, cozy and a comfortable bed. Everything is well kept up. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
