  • 5 of 5

I've been coming to the Plantation now for 30 yrs as both owners child and now bring our children here. We loved every minute of our accomodations and our stay! Everything we needed was there , So many towels to use!! The golf carts were brand new and so much fun for our rides to the beach and around the island to Walkers Landing and such! Thanks Charlene for being so wonderful and we hope to be back as soon as possible!! Sherri Hawkins and Crew😀

Lovely Location and Roomy House

  • 4 of 5

This home was located in a lovely neighborhood with easy access to lots of walking paths, beach walks, restaurants, and sports facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the area. Fernandina Beach, the key town of Amelia Island is a short drive away. It is a lovely town with a historical district that we enjoyed exploring. Great shops, restaurants, a fun boat tour, and lots of character.

The house had plenty of room, and we and our family and friends enjoyed the space. We easily could have 6 individuals at a time in the place, with all having a bed, and having plenty of room to roam. Having a big dining room table was also great.

The one drawback was that the photos are old and do not reflect the current condition of the home. The home needs some maintenance and is showing the wear and tear of rental, both outside and inside, with worn furnishings, fixtures and equipment that are not functioning as well as they should, bikes and carts that are old or not serviceable, etc. This was not a major detraction from our fun time, but future renters should be inquire about whether maintenance issues have been addressed. Both our family and guests did comment on the fact that the home did not reflect what was in the photos. Again we still very much enjoyed ourselves in this home and made ourselves at home easily.

Owner's Response: Dear Karen, thank you for being our guests. I'm so glad everything went so well with your wedding. I still do not know how previous guests damaged the sofa, love seat and chair. I ordered new living room furniture and desperately tried to get it delivered prior to your arrival, however, it arrived two days after you left. Four new bicycles have been delivered in the constant rotation to maintain bicycles for guests so they don't have to rent while visiting. The same is true with the golf carts...a new six-seater has been delivered, in addition to the four-seater, to upgrade for guests. This is a huge savings for our guests and I am thrilled to provide. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Again, I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your time...and you had such good weather! Hoping the remainder of your summer is blessed. Charlene

Relaxing and Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

The Plantation was simply beautiful. We could not get over how stunning the entire property was. The Georgia trees covered the streets so there was natural shading when driving, biking or walking. The home itself was beautiful, warm and cozy. We were provided everything we needed, we did not need to bring anything but our clothes. There were enough bikes and two golf carts for us to use and explore the plantation. We used the golf carts to visit the beach which was only minutes from the house and were so fun to ride in. The Beaches are dog Friendly so we brought our small dog with us each time. We were a family of Four and each morning and afternoon we used the bikes to ride around the plantation, we especially liked to ride to the shops and take a look around. My husband and I played tennis at the tennis facilities at the Plantation and one day we all played miniature golf. Late in the afternoon we would all try the hot tub as it was too chilly to use the beautiful pool, but we certainly had fun using the hot tub. At night we all gathered in the large family room to watch TV or a movie. All 3 bedrooms were warmly decorated and the beds were all extremely comfortable. In the morning I enjoyed sitting in the dining room with my coffee or outside in the back yard overlooking the pool. Charlene our host was very lovely, she made us feel at home and was extremely accommodating. The local restaurants were wonderful and we also enjoyed Fernandina's historic district shops and restaurants which were only 15 minutes by car from the house. If we do get the opportunity to come back to Amelia Island, I can't imagine staying anywhere else but at this home.

Beautiful and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful spot for a relaxing vacation! The house is set in a quiet neighborhood within the Omni Plantation Resort, on a street where live oak trees with Spanish moss arch overhead, and giant palms line the way. The house itself is very nicely decorated in a way that compliments it's Mediterranean architecture, with every thing you could possibly want included: two golf carts, beach chairs and towels, pool toys, a fully equipped kitchen and a huge flat screen TV. Of course, the best part is the backyard pool and hot tub, set in a very private, beautifully landscaped yard. While there were other houses around, it was totally quiet and peaceful. Taking the golf carts to the beach (5 minutes) was so much fun. The beach stretches in both directions as far as the eye can see, and was nearly deserted when we were there-beautiful! We used the golf carts to go to dinner most nights as well-at the main hotel and at the shopping area. Falcon's Nest had a great burger! Don't miss the art gallery and little nature center as fun things to see, as well. We went up to Fernandina for the day-a nice little historical town with shops, restaurants and art galleries. Probably the best thing about this property is the sense that you are staying at the home of relative or friend. Charlene is a true treasure-very friendly, prompt to answer questions, and very concerned that you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. She pays attention to the small things: when I mentioned we wanted to go to Fernandina to shop and look at art galleries and asked for a restaurant recommendation, she also left a picture book of Monet's work by the bed side. When I mentioned looking forward to the beach, she had beach chairs out ready for our arrival. The refrig. ice maker broke: Charlene had bags of ice put in the freezer. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone! We plan to return someday soon!

Awesome stay!

  • 4 of 5

This was our first time staying on Amilia Island and we LOVED IT!! The house was everything the ad described and more! Spacious home with all the amenities and comforts of home. Three adults and three children (ages 13,11 and 1) had plenty of room to relax. Having the pool in the backyard was great. The carts were our main means of transportation and they made getting around the plantation easy. The big kids loved the bikes and riding around the beautiful neighborhood. My husband enjoyed lots of great golf right on the plantation while we enjoyed the beach. Wonderful restaurants when we felt like dining out and the kitchen and grill were great when we felt like relaxing by the pool. Nothing but positive things to say about the accommodations! The shoppes were filled with great things and having them close by was nice. We ventured out and enjoyed the local stuff too! Fort Clinch was fun and educational and we were about to visit during Memorial Day weekend! Overall we had an amazing vacation and highly recommend this home!
