Only 6/10 mile to family favorite warm water Ridgevale Beach, custom West Chatham home, on private cul-de-sac in quiet residential area, comprised exclusively of private single-family homes, overlooks Cockle Creek and tidal salt marsh between Ridgevale and Cockle Cove warm water beaches on Nantucket Sound.
Easy access via main entrance to comfortably furnished spacious living/dining area with fireplace, cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan and large skylight; onto expansive two level mahogany deck. A few wide gradual steps provide easy access to each deck level, outdoor hot and cold shower, or large private yard.
Day-light lower level provides second comfortable sitting or TV viewing area with wood stove, open activity area with games, ping pong and bumper pool, enclosed laundry area, and sliding door to outside.
We provide Broadband Wireless Internet, HDTV cable, propane gas grill for outdoor cooking, rubbish pickup, and professional lawn maintenance.
Due to owner allergy and repeat tenants with allergies, pets (of any size) are absolutely not permitted and we restrict rentals to non-smoker.
Our maximum occupancy is limited to six (6) persons and our rental agreement stipulates that the property shall not be used for any function or gathering of more than the maximum number of occupants without our prior written permission.
Our weekly rental rates listed by season provide discounts relative to our peak season weekly rate. One week minimum rentals. Saturday to Saturday in season rentals.
Our home was Custom Built Home for Year Round Living. Expansive southern exposure deck and finished walk-out basement. Large private side yard has perimeter screened with tall Leyland Cypress trees. Near acre lot with town water and Title 5 septic. Quiet residential area of newer year round homes with paved roads, underground electric, telephone, and cable lines. New multi-zone natural gas heating system with forced hot water baseboards. Large Andersen skylight window and 8 ft. sliding door flood living/dining areas with natural sunlight creating a bright and comfortable home during each season.
Main level is 1200 sq. ft. In addition, there is a spacious finished day-light lower level that provides a second sitting area with cable HDTV TV, an open activity area with game table, bumper pool table, and ping pong table, and walk-out to the area under the deck that includes an outdoor hot and cold shower. A separate enclosed laundry room is equipped with washing machine and gas dryer, iron and ironing board.
Chatham Activities and Attractions: Chatham Lighthouse, Chatham Maritime Festival, First Night Celebration, Railroad Museum, Fish Pier Observation Deck, First Grist Mill in Godfrey Windmill at Chase Park, Atwood House Museum, Chatham Band Concert on Friday nights during July and August. Our Chatham Athletics play in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Excursion trips to Monomoy Island or ferry to Nantucket Island. Tourist enjoy seeing fishing boats unload at the Chatham Fish Pier, and often see harbor seals eagerly swiming close by.
Warm water beaches of Nantucket Sound are ideal for swimming. Ridgevale Beach, located between Hardings Beach and Cockle Cove Beach, is popular with families with small children. With a town beach pass, you can park an any of town beaches.
Since Chatham is located on the Elbow of Cape Cod, you can easily day trip West to Bass River, Hyannis, and Cape Cod Canal or North to the National Seashore, Truro, and Provincetown. A short ride across the Cape to Brewster brings you to Kings Highway where you can tavel this senic route West along Cape Cod Bay through several towns to Sandwich. Chatham offers a central location from which to begin touring Cape Cod. We are less than 1 mile from a Park and Ride lot at the bicycle trail that winds through Cape towns Harwich, Orleans, Eastham. Nearby Chatham airport hosts small planes that offer excursion rides.
Comfortably Furnished and Well Equipped: Our home is furnished and well equipped for your comfort and enjoyment.
A 32 in. flat screen HD color TV in the living room with digital cable that includes on-demand viewing of past broadcasts and selected free movies. A 25 in. color TV with a DVD and VHS player in the second sitting area with extended basic cable. Our Xfinity digital and extended cable service provide a wide selection of channels.
Additional equipment includes; stereo CD player, portable telephone, automatic telephone answering machine, and clock radio in each bedroom.
We provide bed linens, towels, and equipment for quests to use at the beach, including beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler on wheels.
The large deck is furnished with a patio umbrella table with chairs and lounge chairs. A few wide gradual steps provide easy access to each deck level and to yard. We provide a propane gas outdoor grill with an extra tank.
The open living/dining area has a ceiling fan. We provide one box fan and two window fans for the three bedrooms. A dehumidifier is installed in the lower level. An automatic exhaust fan is installed in attic. Although days on Cape Cod can be hot and humid in late July, with our home’s location, we normally benefit from a constant offshore breeze that provides for good air circulation and cooling.

Our location is unique. The salt marsh view is very tranquil. We enjoy being there any season of the year. Foliage of the salt marsh changes throughout the year. We enjoy watching the ducks, blue heron, and other wildlife on the marsh. We have seen sea turtles and night owls. We enjoy just being there and breathing the clean and refreshing salt air.
The layout of the home provides separate areas which often accommodates various age groups. The large lot provides a private setting with unique view. The open living room and dining area opening onto the expansive deck provide a comfortable area for relaxation or entertaining. Older folks have commented on the benefit of negotiating few steps from the driveway to the main living area, to the bedrooms, to the deck. Active age groups have commented on the benefit of the spacious separate lower area for activities, Ping-Pong, second TV viewing area.
We went to Cape Cod to celebrate my milestone birthday. We wanted it to be special and we had done a lot of research and decided that Chatham would be best for us and ideal to our needs.
We spoke to Kathleen on the phone several times before booking and she was patient and most helpful.
Our flight from London arrived very late into Boston and we didn't get to Chatham till nearly midnight. Kathleen and Michael were most thoughtful and considerate and had arranged to have all the beds made up, knowing we would be shattered after such a long journey. They had even left a variety of teas to welcome us as we were British!
Kathleen and Michael had left a selection of maps and things to do, ferry timetables to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, Restaurant suggestions with telephone numbers.
Once we lost our keys to the front door, on phoning Michael, he calmly and immediately arranged for a spare set without any extra charge.
I forgot a silk blouse behind, Kathleen posted this to London immediately. Nothing was too much trouble for this lovely couple.
The house itself was charming, immaculate and nicely furnished.
It was very well equipped for any and every eventuality.
The basement was great and we had such a fun evening playing table tennis and cards.
The outside deck was fabulous with great views over the marsh. The beach is walking distance.
I had a wonderful birthday . We would love to return there one day.

My husband and I enjoyed 2 wonderful weeks at this lovely Chatham home in a very quiet neighborhood. The house was immaculate and Kathleen and Mike were very helpful in giving us a tour of the home and suggesting activities we might enjoy.
The house was very open and bright and had a lovely large deck with a beautiful view of the Cockle Creek Salt Marsh. The kitchen was well stocked but we generally chose to explore the many wonderful restaurants in the area.
Ridgevale beach is my favorite beach on the Cape. There is ocean swimming and sandbars and little creeks that are perfect for families.
Downtown Chatham with lots of stores and great restaurants is just a few miles away, and it's easy to get to all parts of the Cape from this central location.
We definitely recommend this house!
This home has everything you could possibly need for a great vacation. The deck overlooking the salt marsh has a wonderful view of wildlife activity. The beds are comfortable, kitchen is supplied with absolutely everything you would need, the location is within walking distance of a great beach and a quick drive to the shops in Chatham. The house was very clean. The owner's were helpful and thorough throughout the process.
It was so great to escape the 90+ degree heat and humidity of Tennessee and spend a wonderful week at this house. The house worked perfectly for our family of six. A few highlights are: open layout inside, truly beautiful view of the salt marsh from the large deck, and great game room downstairs (we hadn't played ping pong in years). This house is very well equipped throughout, and it is an easy walk down to the beach. I hope we can return to 12 Crest Circle again!
This is the second time we have stayed at this property (the previous was 6 years ago) and loved it both times. It hadn't changed a bit. Coming from California, we just bring our clothes so it is wonderful that the house is well stocked with everything we need, walking distance to a great beach and located in the best town in the Cape. The owners were helpful and made sure we were comfortable. We will not stay any other place when we come to Cape Cod.
Four of us had a wonderful stay at Michael and Kathleen's house. They were very helpful and attentive to the questions I had. The house was well equipped in the kitchen, we enjoy cooking. The deck overlooking the marsh was very relaxing in the early evenings. We had some fun pingpong tournaments. Even though the weather was not great from Tuesday thru Sat., we were able to kayak, golf, shop, bike the dunes in Provincetown and walk the beaches to find the seals. We had great lunches in Chatham, wild blueberry pie from Marions'( could walk to it), and would cook fresh seafood for dinner.
It was also nice to be able to walk to the small beach from the house. We hope to go back in the future.

Our weekly rental rates listed by season provide discounts relative to our peak season weekly rate.
Discount available for extended stay rentals (excluding Holiday and Peak Season)
We require a minimum stay of 7 nights.
Saturday turnover day is preferred in Season.
We do not have annual or monthly rates, but pro-rate our weekly rate.
We offer discount for extended stays (except during Peak Seasons).
The rate includes all utilities (gas, electric, water), local telephone service, extended basic cable television and wireless broadband Internet service.
We request a deposit of 1/2 the total rent upon reserving time.
We request the balance and security deposit two months before the rental begins.
We do not charge any fees, and we are not required to collect any tax. We also take a $300.00 security deposit on each rental to cover any damage (beyond normal wear and tear), long distance telephone charges, or required cleaning, which is returned to you within five (5) business days of conclusion of a rental.
We do not charge for cleaning if the house is left clean. We personally inspect the property between tenants and ensure that the property is thoroughly cleaned to our standards and everything is in proper order for the incoming tenant. We expect each tenant to leave the property clean, including laundering any used towels or bed linens.
If a tenant wishes, we arrange to have a local cleaning company perform these tasks and charge the tenant for this cost as an optional cleaning fee pro-rated at $125.00 for 1 or 2 occupants, $150.00 for 3 or 4 occupants, $175.00 for 5 or 6 occupants. If the tenant does not arrange for cleaning and the house is not left in a suitable condition, we then arrange for cleaning and charge the tenant.
Our standard check-in time is 3:00 PM and checkout time is 10:00 AM. Whenever feasible, we adjust these times to accommodate a tenant.
