Why Eliana chose Manhattan
BEST LOCATION - The EAST VILLAGE & the LOWER EAST SIDE (aka by locals as "LOISADA") have a long history: covering an area that is now Fourth Avenue to the East River, and 17th Street to Fifth Street; Irish and German immigrants moved into the neighborhood starting around the 1850s, and in the early 1900s, Italians and Eastern European Jews followed. In the late 1970's, the East Village scene introduced a pantheon of big names in art, like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, Jeff Koons, and David Wojnarowicz, in addition to the musicians Patti Smith, Blondie, Madonna, Sonic Youth, and the Strokes. Today the neighborhood is world famous for all that they have to offer 24/7: restaurants with cuisine from countless countries / bars / after hours clubs - in short: it's a tourists magnet. - So it can be very noisy when you want to rest - BUT this flat is ideally located on a quiet and safe side street - AWAY from all types of commercial venues - NO restaurant / shops / NO night clubs - and it is located in a Police Precinct's block.

Best host and apartment
We had the best time in NY thanks to Tonica’s lovely welcome and ongoing thoughtfulness by checking in to see if everything was ok (very discretely by text) . It’s a fantastic apartment and the location is perfect. In the heart of the East Village, we were spoilt for choice with restaurants, great cafes serving real coffee and delis. Felt like home every time we returned to the apartment after a long day of sightseeing. Can’t wait to come back and stay again. Thank you Tonica for making our stay so memorable!
Kelly and her daughter are at the top of the list of best guests ever: two highly polite people who take care of the house, appreciate it as it is and -- above all -- two very friendly people. It will be a great pleasure to have them as guests again. May they be welcomed wherever they go. They deserve it!
Our host was extremely helpful and friendly, during the booking process and during our stay. She gave us lots of information about the neighbourhood, how to get around NY, using the subway, food recommendations and other insider and local places. It was a wonderful trip.
Olivia is the guest every homeowner wants and can recommend: she has a good mood, no demands whatsoever, is organized, and has left everything clean when she leaves. I hope to host her again.
This was a great place! I really enjoyed Eliana and her helpful advice. I will stay here again.
Fabulous Apartment in Great Location
We had a fantastic stay in this stylish and comfortable apartment ideally located in the East Village. The hosts could not have been more helpful - supplying invaluable advice on transport from the airport, as well as nearby stores and restaurants. She was also so willing to provide advice & information throughout our trip and kindly organised our cab to the airport when we left. The apartment itself is very well equipped- it is light, bright and spacious and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend both this apartment and this area - we mostly ate out locally - there are so many great bars and restaurants nearby. Thanks so much again for making our first trip to New York so special!!
Very happy that D&A appreciate the East Village for its history and quirks, as well as enjoyed our place for the same reasons. Within hours of their arrival, they were true eastvillagers, as if they had been our neighbors for many years! They are also perfect ambassadors of Scotland, and made us want to visit their country soon. They are exactly what a host wants to have as guests: reliable, respectful and wonderfully friendly! May they be greeted with warm sympathy wherever they go!
Perfect Spot for 1 or 2 persons
Very centrally located surrounded by everything one would need and reasonably affordable.
Glad you like it!
Hope to host you again!
Great place in great neighbourhood
Me and my friend loved staying here for a long weekend. The apartment is beautiful, Feels really New York, neighbourhood is amazing. Eliana was very friendly, kind and helpful and gave us a warm welcome showing us the apartment. Would def stay here again
The East Village has turned into the epicenter of hype and fashion in NYC. Best neighborhood for all times especially for night life - while maintaining characteristics of a small, quiet town.
Flats is in the heart of this famed neighborhood.
Supermarkets, restaurants and specialty shops within walking distance of the building.
Subway and bus lines within walking distance of the building.
Whole Foods is around the corner!!!
F train steps away down the block.
Uptown and Downtown buses on either corner.

The apartment was well maintained, comfortable and clean, with the added bonus of a fridge stocked with all the essentials – an excellent thought, especially for evening arrivals. The photographs provided when we first inquired about the apartment were an accurate description, far better than I expected (from previous renting experiences) and it really felt like home for the 10 days we were there. Eliana’s husband organized a taxi
Location is perfect, close to a number for subway lines (F line is closest, but only 10-15 minutes walk to other lines.) The East Village has more than enough bars and restaurants to keep anyone occupied, but Lower East Side, Soho, etc are all within walking distance too. To summarize, good apartment, good transport links, good local bars and restaurants, close to lower Manhattan areas for sightseeing, shopping or whatever you want to do. Highly recommended – we’d stay again.
