About Judy Hays

My husband, Bradley Hays, is a General Contractor and builds custom homes here in Hiawassee and the surrounding areas. I handle the cabin business and assist my Mother, living with us and my Dad in the nursing home here in Hiawassee. In our spare time we like to travel. Bradley likes a good rod run from time to time and I love camping and reading. We both enjoy seeing families, relatives and friends visit the cabin for good times all around! Chocolate Lab Cheyenne is the newest member of our family, daughter, Stacey, her husband Edward and grandson, Tripp, live 3 hours away in Newnan, Ga. We would love for you to stay with us while visiting Hiawassee!

'Our view is a gift, let us share it with you!'

Judy Hays purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Judy Hays chose North Georgia Mountains

We have lived in the North Georgia mountains for over eighteen years, settling in Hiawassee which is a lush, green haven in the mountains crowned by sparkling teal-green Lake Chatuge. The area we chose for our home is a natural for cabins and since my husband is a General Contractor and builds custom homes, it was a given. A Skyline Ridge Cabin Rental is nestled high on a ridge backed up to and overlooking the Chattahoochee National Forest toward Helen, Ga. We have had a dream of creating a cabin business here since we finished building our own home, just above what is now Skyline Cabin. The view from the cabin is simply put, 'eye candy'! Each season of the year adds its own special beauty which enhances this very special place. We are excited about achieving our dream. We would love to meet YOU! Feel free to call for a tour of the cabin anytime, 706-781-4929. Hope to see you soon~! Our view is a gift...let us share it with you!

What makes this cabin unique

Upon opening the bevelled glass front door and viewing the panoramic vista that first meets your eye you will be amazed! God was really showing off when he created these beautiful mountains! Of course, our rustic cabin will enhance your whole 'mountain cabin experience', it has all the amenities of home with the ambiance and feel of the mountains. The cabin, which is encircled by trees and very private, is alive with wildlife yet peaceful and quiet. Although it is 'out in the country' the location lends convenience to town only 5-7 minutes away. The Hiawassee River meanders at the base of the mountain, and, yes, you may fish! There are many things to do and places to see, plus shopping and restaurants nearby. We truly have a grand location! You can experience everything we have to offer, too, just give us a call today!

Perfect Getaway (with an incredible view)

  • 5 of 5

Really wonderful place to stay. It was exactly what we were looking for: quiet, clean, secluded, and an amazing view. The owners keep the cabin very very clean, which increases the comfort level. My husband and I took our dog for a 3-night stay for our 1-year wedding anniversary. Judy made us feel especially welcome with dog treats and a sweet gift. We passed the time sitting on the front porch soaking in the view, cooking, hiking Brasstown Bald, and renting a boat on the nearby Lake Chatuge. We are already checking our calendars for the next time we can drive up for a long weekend. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful mountain getaway. Again - stunning views.

Words can not do it justice!

This was our first time at Skyline Rental. We checked in for a few days of R & R. When we were first going up the mountain we were asking ourselves what did we get ourselves into. The first time the road feels very twisty and steep. When we finally made it to the top and saw the cabin and the view, we were just awestruck. Then we opened the door, went in and to the back porch. I just didn't want to move, I just kept staring at the most beautiful mountain view we have ever seen. It was majestic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Did a little sightseeing in the area. The nearby little town of Helen was really cute and Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain in Ga. and third highest east of the Mississippi, was also amazing. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We definitely plan on returning.

Amazing View!!

  • 5 of 5

The Skyline Ridge Cabin Rental is unlike anything I've stayed at before. When we first drove up, we quickly understood the name Skyline Ridge as the cabin has a completely amazing view of the valley below along with several mountain ridges behind. Judy left us a nice welcome gift, to include some treats for our dog. Small things like that separate the owner and the cabin from many others--so, thank you. The bushes in front of the amazing view were filled with blackberries, which we picked for a breakfast addition both days.

Advice to those interested-- Bring a dinner ready to cook, or have some food ready to grill when you first arrive. The fact that the closest grocery store is a 15 minute drive isn't the problem. Once you step onto the porch, you won't want to leave the view. So crack open the beer, pop the wine, and start enjoying. Then dinner is ready whenever you get tired of enjoying the reason you rented the cabin in the first place. Oh yeah, same thing applies for breakfast in the morning. Except for the beer and wine. Or, maybe not. Thanks again for the amazing visit.

A Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to stay here, and we will try to come back again. The cabin is clean and comfortable, and they do a great job of making you feel welcome. Access to the cabin is easier than a lot of other cabins where we have stayed. We loved sitting on the back porch and playing some of the many games at the cabin.
