If you are looking for a place that allows you to get close to nature while being close to the action - you have found it! Escape and enjoy the many diverse activities the mountains can offer and come home to a peaceful and spacious setting where your family can relax and renew at the end of your exciting day.
This quiet and cozy home is tucked back in the trees at the base of Mount Bross, one of Colorado's famous 14’ers. Located on the outskirts of fun and funky Alma, our home allows easy access to all the area's fun. Park County has a wealth of hiking, biking, shopping and more while Breckenridge and all Summit County has to offer is just a few minutes away. Although the setting is secluded, the house is just one mile off the highway (no long off-road drives!) situated on 10 private acres.
Our mountainside charmer is a comfortable, warm and tastefully decorated spacious three bedroom, two bathroom home that you will want to call your home away from home! A large fully equipped country kitchen and dining area will allow for family meals if you decide to eat in. The comfortable living room with a stone fireplace offers a quiet place to reflect on the day's activities. In addition, a cozy family room with a gas fireplace and entertainment center gives a place for the family to gather.
There are two downstairs bedrooms. The “bears den” bunk room sleeps four in double bunks while a second bedroom with queen bed sleeps two. The dramatic master bedroom provides a rustic get-away. Large windows bring the wildlife into view as moose, deer and the resident fox make their way across the property. A large deck overlooks the scenic valley and the Continental Divide, a great place to enjoy the peacefulness at any time of day.
The house is set on 10 acres backing up to miles of undeveloped land. In the summer we highly recommend scenic hiking into the high country where you can explore the mining era that made this area famous, the amazing wild flower meadows and the pristine peaks of Central Colorado. In the winter, enjoy alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more. Breckenridge is just 16 miles away and three other mountains are within easy reach!

This place was amazing! From start to finish we had the best vacation we have ever had. My 4 year old son enjoyed it more than we did I think.. The drive way made a awesome sledding track for him. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing you home with us! We will defiantly be back again! Sorry it took so ling for me to do this review!
We spent five nights at this great cabin. Everything exceeded our expectations. The owners have done a great job of making the cabin warm and inviting. All of the amenities you could want are part of the package. Although not far from the highway and the small town of Alma, the cabin is secluded. It is located at the end of a cul de sac and surrounded by trees. The decks offer a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The hot tub was a big plus. The kitchen is fully equipped. Be sure to stock up on some groceries before arriving. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this is the property for you1
The property was beautiful with plenty of room to spread out. We truly enjoyed the view and it was a short ride to Breckinridge. Diane and Doug are very accommodating hosts and were so helpful with great suggestions of things to do.
Unbelievable accommodations. Well kept home with beautiful view.
Lovely place to be nestled on the side of a mountain with tons to do. We scheduled a lot of skiing like usual but after being here, we wish we had more time to spend at the cabin and hiking around it.
Great place to stay and highly recommended.
Note, stayed there a couple years ago for spring break. System won't let me go back more than a year.
Secluded mountain home doesn't begin to describe this great retreat from everyday life. Nestled into a mountain side, this home is surrounded by the forest. The furnishings in the house are very nice, with a large open room with windows from floor to ceiling. The large front deck, coupled with a back deck, were excellent for reading after coming back from exploring the nearby trails. The master bedroom is upstairs, as is the master bathroom. The house was clean and well-maintained. We spent numerous days on Buckskin Trail and Mosquito Pass Road, where the aspens were already turning. London Mill and London Mine were wonderful to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed this house, and with so many trails to visits, look forward to returning, as well as recommending to our friends about it.
