This beach front property is located on Admiral's Cove on Admiralty Bay, the entrance to Puget Sound. From the property you have spectacular views of The Olympic Mountains, ship and ferry traffic in and out of Puget Sound. You can see spectacular sun rises and sun sets and lots of wildlife, including eagles, jumping salmon, seals, an occasional whale, rabbits and a multitude of birds. And, all of this can be seen from the front room, dining room, and master bedroom, as well as the spacious decks and board walk down to the water. Feel free to catch salmon from the front yard and put them on the Bar-B for dinner. This location is extremely quiet and peaceful with few neighbors...wetlands on one side and the ocean on the other. The road is private and is wonderful for long walks along the water. The beach is also private and there is an outdoor swimming pool within walking distance of the house. The house itself is furnished with overstuffed sofas and has a wide-screen TV.
I had intended to sell this property, so I did not respond to the reviews that are posted. I have decided to keep this home available for vacation rentals because of reviews like this one:
'What a wonderful week we just had at the Beach House. Spent most of my waking hours on the deck watching all the ships go by,cruise ships and barges...the Navy planes had fly-overs 2 different days and what a thrill to see the eagles, seals, salmon jumping and even a rabbit or 2. The one cool day I found a perfect place in the house to set in my chair and still enjoy all the outdoors. House is close to everything but only ventured into town one day as everything one needs is there at the house. A great place to get away and relax while enjoying the awesome deck. A very restful time and we do hope to return.'

I work hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you find your stay to fit this category, please write a favorable review for others that follow. Thank you and hope to see you again soon.
I studied art in Japan in the early 1980's and now have a Japanese antique shop in historic Coupeville.
The property has been in my family for 35 years. It is a quiet, private and extremely scenic spot with lots of wildlife, including eagles and birds of all kinds, salmon fishing in front yard, occasional whales and seals.
The house has a southern exposure so you will have sun rises and sun sets, along with spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains, ferry boat and cruise ship traffic in and out of Puget Sound.
That's what we call this charming getaway on Admiral's Cove - The Beach House. We stayed there for 10 days surrounding Thanksgiving in 2015, again in December 2015 while exploring options on the island, and for the month of January 2016. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need to live there. There are 3 bedrooms which accommodated us all when children and grandchildren came for a few days. While sitting in the living room or dining room you can watch the changing weather and seagulls, or freighters and naval aircraft carriers heading to ports beyond. The house is very close to the Keystone ferry which takes you to Port Townsend ( delightful day trip). It's also a great place to walk with parks at both ends of the street (one with a pool and playground equipment and the other with great nature scenes and a spot where you can fish from the shore). I'm giving it 5 stars because this home provides a great place to NOT be busy, but also close enough to explore the beautiful island. It is somewhat dated and not perfect...but that's like most of us, right? I hope you go and make wonderful memories!
House was clean, however wall to wall carpet in bathrooms is not very sanitary and should be removed. We put hand towels on the floor in front of he toilets. As stated in other reviews house could use some updating. A 2012 review mentioned the screen door on the slider was broken. There is NO screen on the sliding door now and there are NO screens on the bedroom windows. It was pretty warm weather for this area (80 plus) so we had to open the windows anyway to cool the house, and had to set a chair sideways to block the opening so we could open the slider and keep our dog from getting out. This resulted in flies getting inside. I happen to hate flies so that was not pleasant. Fun to watch the ships but you must have binoculars to see them. As for the fighter jets. WOW. It only happened one late afternoon for about 2 1/4 hours. A plane about every 3 minutes. Loud, oh yes when you are out side and they go right over the house, very low to land at Whidbey. They were doing "touch and go". But darn what a wonderful sight. It was like our own private airshow, not to mention how proud we were to see part of our wonderful defense system in practice!!! We went inside to eat and the noise was about 50% less and we could still watch from the dining table. View is great. Too hard to get down from the boardwalk to the beach for older folks and people with stability issues. A handrail would help a bit. Also an umbrella for the deck should be provided as well as a few better quality lounge chairs to relax on other then the wood chairs that go with the wood patio table. The two folding chairs there were flimsy at best. Jan is nice and easy to work with. We would like to go back but cannot do so unless these items are addressed. Disappointing there is no outside fire pit for evening bonfires, typical for beach properties. Come prepared as the only services are in Coupeville and you cannot walk there.
The location is great, the beach house is nice, the view is amazing. We are 3 families take vacation and get together here, have wonderful time staying. We enjoy the moonrise and sunset at the beach, while the kid enjoys picking the rocks at the backyard and beach.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the view, location and furnishings. We arrived on Monday before Thanksgiving and left on Sunday following. The house is well appointed and spotlessly clean. The only thing that kept the rating from being Excellent was that the sliding door was in need of repair, although it did lock so security was not a problem. In reality a very minor problem, we intend to return.
Jan was exceptionally attentive to us, and very cooperative in catering to our requests. While there were only two adult couples in our party it would easily accomodate more.
In summary you cannot go wrong.
We have rented this house 3 times now- the last 2 Memorial Day weekends and this past New Years (and we've reserved this years Memorial Weekend). Love the location! We were able to dive right off the house, and have lots of deck space outdoors to enjoy the sunshine and store our gear.
It's close to town, and lots of local dive sites (including the fantastic Keystone Jetty). The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the house is very comfortable for our party of 6.
In our 3 trips here, we've had no complaints about the house. It was clean and well maintained. The owners have been very accommodating about check in and check out times.
I would highly recommend this house, especially for divers.
The setting is as spectacular as promised and the house was very clean, comfortable and well furnished. We spent much of our time on the wonderful decks that surround the house on the sheltered side and the front. The anglers in our family caught several large salmon right from the front beach and we had them on the grill the same day. We brought our own kayaks and loved being able to keep them right in front of the house and use them on Admiralty Bay whenever we felt like it. The location is great as it is convenient to many other attractions either by foot or a short drive away.
