Great Weekend Getaway and Fishing!

  • 5 of 5

My Husband and I stayed here for our 15 year anniversary. While we were there when Hurricane Matthew came through, we fished almost all weekend and caught about 20 fish off the dock with one very large catfish. The house was cozy and the kitchen is well stocked. We are looking forward to bringing the kids back next year and staying longer.

Great house and location.

  • 5 of 5

In a great area under 2 miles from the marina. Passing under the bridge wasn't fun, but once you're through you don't have to leave for boating and water sports. Could wakeboard all day! House was very comfortable and dock worked great for my Malibu. Would definitely choose this house again.

Clean and accommodating, waterfront

  • 4 of 5

Descriptions of property, pictures, and list of provided accommodations are accurate.

Chris was quick to respond to questions.

Short trip off I-85. (Only about 10min drive)

Quiet and very low-traffic neighborhood.

Home was very clean. There are sheets and hand towels if you want to use them. But be sure to bring your own paper products (toilet paper, etc), and hand soap.

It may be helpful to know that there is no accessible shore to access the water, but there is a ladder at the end of the dock. Water was great!

I do wish the check-in and check-out times gave you more time, especially considering the cost of the rental.

Great Weekend At Lake

  • 5 of 5

I wanted to spend on the lake before I decided to start my search for a house to purchase. This house first came onto my radar because it is "Pet Friendly". This was the the biggest factors in my decision to rent this property.

When we got to the house we found it to be extremely clean and well kept. Shortly after we got there we experienced an issue with the fridge (we put too much warm food in fridge too fast and it had to catch up to cool things) and the WIFI (just needed a simple reset). Even though we were able to solve these problems on our own-- the owner sent one of her staff to come check on us to ensure that we had everything in good working order. This was extremely impressive to the group!

Tip for fellow renters: When they say the ramp is right across the water… BELIEVE THEM! I didn’t believe them—and spent the better part of 45 minutes trying to find out where I was going! It is rather embarrassing to have to spend 20 minutes at the marina trying to figure out where home is, when you don’t know the address!! Tie a balloon or something to the dock so you can see clearly where you are going (this will make life MUCH easier!)

The positives:

-Pet Friendly

-Owner is very attentive and polite

-Location in proximity to the ramp (next sub-divsion)

-Perfect amount of common space

-Good fishing (left poles over night in the water) --- If you are looking for bait fish – right behind the boat house there are a TON of little fish swimming around

-Well designed driveway (easy to get trailer in and out of)

Negatives:

-Beds were a little uncomfortable

-Not able to use boat lift (the fuses is marked do not use)

-No easy way to get paddle boat in and out of water from the dock

-View of lake not easily visible from house (about 100 yard walk to water)

-Cell phones do not work out here (this may be a positive too)

Summary: Would LOVE to stay here again! Next time I will bring more bug spray (mosquitos were murderous!) The owner went out of her way to be accommodating with our group – and it was a pleasure to stay here. The few negatives were FAR outweighed by positives on this trip. We created a lot of memories for both those of our group, but also for a cute little Cocker Spaniel rescue!! Did I mention, I can’t wait to stay here again? This house is perfect for those people who want to create memories with friends and more especially their "Furry Family"!!!!!!

A Moment in Time

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to "unplug" with our teenage son and lab. We found this property online and after careful consideration we booked it. We counted down the months, weeks, and days!!

Once we arrived we completely fell in love, it was clean, charming and secluded...just what we were looking for. We threw caution to the wind and all jumped off the dock (dog included).

We woke up early and fished, we spent ours days in the paddle boat or swimming across the creek. We fired up the grill in the evenings and sat around reconnecting.

The memories we made will sustain us until we can return next season.

Thank you!!
