Villa Samprasada (Sanskrit word meaning ‘serenity’) is the place to relax, unwind and recuperate in luxury. The villa’s owner is a Los Angeles television producer and the villa reflects a lifestyle where dreams can become reality.
By Day… The villa presents some wonderful indoor/outdoor lifestyle options; swimming, sunbathing on the comfortable sun-loungers around the pool, sipping on a cool tall drink as you ponder your next move. Or maybe the pure bliss of a traditional Thai massage!
By Night…The villa becomes a wonderland for the senses as the soft mood lighting transforms the villa into a romantic tropical paradise. Imagine the gentle murmur of quiet conversation, the flicker of soft candlelight and the sound of music floating in the air with three zones of outdoor speakers. This villa can become what you want it to be; a private oasis away from the rest of the world or a magnificent entertaining environment.
Villa Samprasada is the perfect hideaway haven for one or two couples. Each couple has their own private accommodation wing with total privacy and space. And each couple's bedroom looks out onto the pool.
As you would expect from a villa of this caliber, almost every detail of the interior and exterior finish is flawless. The villa recently graced the front cover of Koh Samui’s prestigious Real Estate Magazine for its contemporary design. Just this year it graced the cover of Avenida magazine, a Dutch Architectural magazine.
The furniture, the furnishings and the many traditional artifacts displayed throughout, capture the true spirit of Balinese culture and reflect a sense of peace and harmony.

At Villa Samprasada your every need has been considered.
If you play golf, grab your clubs. There are two magnificent courses on the island. The newest course, Bophut Hills is literally one minute’s drive away from the villa.
And the villa is only 5 minutes away from popular Fisherman's Village in Bohput with its many boutique shops and world class seaside restaurants. You have a complete assortment of restaurants here...Italian, French, Mexican, Thai, Steak and Seafood, Indian.... Quoting from a travel guide: 'Fisherman's Village is one of the few places on Samui that retains so much of the island's original Thai-Chinese atmosphere...'
The beach itself encompasses some 2km of white sandy shoreline fringed by coconut palms and the calm waters of the bay make this a popular spot for playing or relaxing...'
And just a short twenty minutes drive you find yourself in Chaweng where the main tourist shopping and nightlife in Koh Samui is located...
Due to the hillside location of the villa you should rent a vehicle. Rental vehicles can be easily arranged to suit your requirements. You can take taxis, but it is easier to rent a vehicle or motorcycle. Due to safety on the island, we always recommend that people rent vehicles over motorbikes.
You are guaranteed a unique holiday experience when you stay here and we hope you love the villa as much as we do.

I am a television commercial producer who lives both in Los Angeles and Koh Samui, but I prefer to spend most of my time between jobs in Koh Samui. Thanks to the Internet, Vonage, Skype, cell phones it became clear to me that I could live anywhere and prep my jobs and then commute to wherever in the world I need to shoot and I found that Koh Samui, with the proximity of Bangkok, is a great place to be. We have amazing friends on the island from all over the world....and friends are always dropping in to stay at the villa. (Note: the photo is taken at Tiger Temple outside of Bangkok)
Rob purchased this villa in 2006
I've traveled to 75+ countries and could have chosen a vacation home almost anywhere, but I found that Thailand was the one country I really missed when I was away...and it always felt great to be back. I started traveling to Koh Samui in 1995 when Chaweng was just a dirt road. In later years I would bounce back and forth on my Thailand trips between Koh Samui and Phuket, but found I much preferred Koh Samui... My wife and I found this house accidentally. There was a misprint on a real estate sign and we thought the house was 1/4 of the price it was actually listed it. However, we didn't know this until we had seen the house and....had fallen in love with it the minute we walked in the door and had to buy it.
I say in the listing that the villa looks just as the pictures represent it to be....a Balinese fantasy home (in Thailand). When the house is lit up at night it is spectacular....really beautiful. And waking up in the morning one of the bedrooms has a straight shot to the sunrise, (depending on the time of the year) which is fantastic. Living here, we entertain a lot and it's a great house for that. And the house is very private, as is most of the pool, and that is a big bonus. The villa is good sized, and I know of many homes that are even larger that don't have the lifestyle aspects that this villa offers. The villa builders also did a great job with the landscaping so that the entire grounds is lush...looking from every room you have a great abundance of lush landscaping (even more lush since the photos were taken). I also appreciate that you can get to Fisherman's Village/Bophut in about five minutes drive and the restaurants there are great (and varied), and the village is fun to walk through and shop and we love Friday night walking street in the village. And if we want to go to Chaweng for even more extensive nightlife, it's only 15 minutes away.
This review has been a long time coming we stayed in 2015 and had the most incredible time. My parents and my sister and myself still think this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. Both my sister and i (late 20's) were able to go out at night and come home safely, whilst my parents could enjoy their nights in the villa or exploring the island also. There was plenty of room for our family, heavenly aircon and the pool that none of us could get out of. It was such a pleasure getting to meet Rob, he was incredibly gracious and assisted us with anything and everything we could possibly need. Thank you Rob, we can't wait to return hopefully soon!
Stayed in Villa Samprasada with another couple. The place is on the hillside behind Fisherman Village. Great location for relaxing but also exploring the island. The check in was smooth and flawless and Koun Oh was very friendly. Rob, the owner, was very good at providing advice on the island and he knows the best places to go. My favourite is Fisherman Village. Try Cafe 69 and Hansar Hotel restaurant there. The villa has a great arrangement and it feels spacious for two couples and gave us all enough privacy and days of fun! Would love to come back!
We spent 15 days in Rob's house and it was really great. The location of this house among the trees and the decoration appeals to a zen attitude. The wonderful sound system enables to listen to music from any place of the house. It's very relaxing. The house is confortable and very convenient and it is the best place to have a rest in a wonderful site especially at night thanks to the highly sophisticated lightening. Rob is very good at giving very special ambiances at any time of the day.
Check-in and check out very simple and quick. I would like get back there very soon......
What a wonderful way to arrive at Rob’s; chauffeur driven by Oh, his villa manager, and your font of all knowledge for Koh Samui should you need it!
The drive to Rob’s is a short distance from the airport. As you leave the ‘highway’ to ascend the hill upon which Rob’s villa is perched, you feel the sense of leaving the hustle and bustle behind, passing on your way a water buffalo in the tamed jungle (at this level) and an immaculately maintained golf course. If you are lucky you may even see a few elephants as we have (presumably they are not at all wild)!
Perched on the hill is Rob’s villa Samprasada. You are greeted with orange garlands of marigolds draped over the compound gate. No matter where you have just arrived from, you know that you are just about to be enter a haven.
Inside, the villa is beautifully and immaculately presented. Our family of five fell in love with the architecture, the lush and well-planted gardens, the antique and Thai mixed furniture, and the most glorious outdoor tropical showers and baths.
The subtlety of design and sublime use of lighting and sound makes you feel as if you really have entered into paradise. Words cannot do justice to the pool placed at the centre of the villa surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees. Beautiful red and blue dragonflies do the mating dance as they follow you up and down the pool. From the main bedroom one opens the sliding door and slips effortlessly into the heavenly water.
One could easily stay up here, away from it all, but if you need to venture out the upmarket Fisherman’s Village with the most delectable cuisine is only a 5 minute drive away. We have found the best Indian food we have ever tasted tucked away in Fisherman’s village! Should you wish to get stuck in to something more happening, there is plenty of choice less than 20 min drive away.
Rob, a most charismatic and attentive owner of this luxury property, has detailed and well thought out information available which covers the wide range of activities and attractions available in the area.
And, of course, beaches with azure blue crystal clear waters are only minutes away from the villa. We have returned to Samprasada a few times now and would highly recommend this property to anyone who seeks tropical luxury and total relaxation.
The check in and check out process was really easy and convenient. All the facilities and furniture in the apartment is as same as the pictures on website. Mr. Bob and his colleague are very nice and patient. We are highly recommended this villa to anyone else. Thanks for everything you did for us. Hope we have more cooperation in the future.
My wife and I recently returned from an absolutely fantastic vacation in Koh Samui. We had recently begun new jobs in a very busy Asian city and were really looking forward to our first break from work and some seriously well deserved relaxation. What made this trip just perfect for us wasn’t the island itself so much, but rather our decision to rent the house, Villa Samprasada.
The house is just as lovely in person as it looks in the pictures on the website. Everything is very well maintained: the pool immaculate, all those fantastic lights for creating mood in the evening functioned wonderfully, speaker zones throughout the villa to create just the right musical mood, charming landscaping, screaming fast wireless Internet, big flat screen TV’s, a kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need. It’s quite obvious the owner cares a lot about the place and that he himself visits on a regular basis. These kinds of things don’t just happen without some serious dedication to the place.
Renting the house was extremely easy, from the initial contact with Rob the owner, to being picked up at the airport by the smiling face of ‘Oh’, the young woman who manages the villa. We rented one of ‘Oh’s’ cars for the eight days of our stay. The rental price was great, came with full insurance and the car ran beautifully. Upon arrival there was tons of fresh fruit laid out, bottled water stocked up, really all you have to do is buy some food and start living like a local. Driving around town and walking along the beaches, I felt sorry for the other tourists who were stuck in, what were for the most part rather run-down looking hotels. All in all, it was easier to book this house and car then it would have been to book an all exclusive hotel, and yet the two experiences are worlds apart.
The house sits up on a hill which overlooks the ocean. We drove into town most days, sometimes walked the beach, shopped for fresh seafood and fruits at the market, and would eagerly return to the villa to relax and look forward to an evening of fresh drinks, steamed clams and grilled fish in the comfort and privacy of our own home. Even though the view of the ocean is there as you drive down the hill for supplies, the house itself does not have a view of the ocean; probably it’s only down side. But, realistically, if it did have a view of the sea, the price would be three times as high and I certainly could not have afforded it.
When I first started looking at the
Villa Samprasada is located just a four to five minute drive from famous beachfront Fisherman's Village, with it's abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. Fisherman's Village is right on Bophut Beach, where you can swim, walk, or jetski. And you're just 15 minutes from Chaweng Beach. The villa affords you privacy but within four minutes you can drive down to the Ring Road, which circles the island.
