Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for your hospitality, Andy. Your passion for S.F. really shone through! We were highly appreciative for all the help you so freely gave - the airport pick-ups, the orientation tour (and the stop at twin peaks), the laundry and the ride to the tour bus

We can not thank you enough; suffice to say that you contributed to our enjoyment of this lovely city.

We had an amazing stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The apartment was spotlessly clean and perfectly positioned in a charming neighborhood full of local color.

Thanks Andy - Hope to see you again!!

Great location! Great home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! It's an apartment on the top floor of a home in the Castro District. Andy owns the home and lives on the lower level. He was a wonderful host and available if we needed anything, even taking me to the airport for a late night flight. The apartment is furnished well and very comfortable. The view is breathtaking! Best of all, the shops and restaurants of the Castro are within a few blocks walk. I would gladly stay there again!

Vaca in Sf

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful time while I stayed in SF. Andy (the owner) was wonderful, he checked in to make sure everything was alright with the place and if I needed anything as well as offered transportation to and from the airport..and when my flight was canceled the Sunday I was supposed to fly into SF Andy notified me before I even knew about the cancellation.. This was a big help. Would definitely stay here again.

Great accommodations and location!

  • 5 of 5

Andy's place was perfect for our family of four. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very spacious and great to have so that we did not need to eat out every meal. Andy was very accommodating for our needs. There was a bus stop right in front and down a few blocks was the subway. It was very easy to get around the city from this location. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had great views from his place. We can't wait to go back.

Feel the real San Francisco - experience this wonderful city as a local

  • 5 of 5

Andy was a wonderful host. He picked us up from airport promptly (despite delays at our end and was easily contactable). He then took us on a local tour (believe that!) - gave us Clipper cards (we loaded them for 7 days - excellent value). The apartment was very comfortable for (family of 3 adults) - separate bedroom with pull out sofa. The kitchen was well equipped and served our needs. The Castro neighbourhood was special. We had good transport options to downtown and a wonderful place (Harveys) to unwind at the end of the day. On one night we got a movie at the Castro Theatre (a must do - live organ music as an introduction to the movie). A bus gets you to and from the shopping area but we chose to walk. Andy lives in the floor below but our stay was extremely private. I would highly recommend staying in Andy's Apartment.

Melbourne in Victoria, Australia

A great place to stay in San Francisco.

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I (Australians) stayed here from 13 November 2016 to 28 November 2016. This was our second trip to San Francisco, a city we absolutely love.

The host, Andy, was most accommodating. He offered to pick us up from the airport but we travelled from SFO by BART to 24th St Mission BART Station where Andy picked us up. Andy also drove us to that Station when we left San Francisco.

The accommodation, a Victorian, is in a great location on hilly Castro St. The outside porch and living area have views of Downtown. A bus stop for the #24 bus is across the street. The accommodation is about a 10-minute walk to MUNI Metro Castro Station, so one can easily and quickly get to Downtown and the Embarcadero. The F Market Street Car (another way to get to Downtown and the Embarcadero) stop is basically across the road from the Castro Station.

We walked to Twin Peaks from the property and we could easily walk to the Mission, down nearby 18th Street. The property is close to 22nd St, which has the steepest stretch of road in San Francisco (along with another street in SF) and which we had fun walking up.

The area is a LGBTI community delight.

The property had good WiFi. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation has no washing machine, but Andy kindly did our clothes washing on two occasions. Our recommendation would be to install a washing machine. The bedroom was cosy, but relatively noisy due to the traffic and buses running up and down Castro St, but we got used to the noise.

There is a Safeway nearby.

Andy lives downstairs in the accommodation with his partner and dogs. We had total privacy in our unit of the Victorian.

We would be most happy to stay here again.

Great location and a lot of fun

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in San Francisco. Andy, our host, was extremely helpful and always available. We don't travel a lot and Andy picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. The location had great views of San Francisco and we never needed a car for the entire 9 nights. Andy provided us with a couple of tours to acclimate us to the area and also drove us in the early morning to be picked up for our Extranomical tours to Yosemite and Muir Woods and wine country. Other than that we had a CityPass book with 7 day tickets on the MUNI system so we never rented a car. I must say that San Francisco is an incredibly fun area with a ton to see and do. We will remember our time there with great joy. Thanks Andy!

San Francisco has both bay and ocean exposure. The apartment is on a hill with a view of downtown San Francisco also has fog; layering clothing is advised. We have a great public transit system with trolley cars acquired from around the world and beautifully restored and of course the classic San Francisco cable car. We have many incredible National Parks less than one hour away and we have street fairs where artists sell their work all summer long. And with 24/7 concierge service if it can done in or around San Francisco, I can make it happen.

Other Activities: Alcatraz, Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and of course a ride on the cable car.
