EXCERPTS FROM MY GUEST BOOK
Thank you so much for your hospitality, Andy. Your passion for S.F. really shone through! We were highly appreciative for all the help you so freely gave - the airport pick-ups, the orientation tour (and the stop at twin peaks), the laundry and the ride to the tour bus
We can not thank you enough; suffice to say that you contributed to our enjoyment of this lovely city.
We had an amazing stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The apartment was spotlessly clean and perfectly positioned in a charming neighborhood full of local color.
Thanks Andy - Hope to see you again!!
Andy was very nice and quick to respond. As soon as we got there he offered to take us on a short tour and explained how to get around with public transit and the sites to see. The location is cool and located in the heart of the Castro district. Andy and his partner are big dog lovers and they just bred about 6 little lab puppies which he let my children see. Super Cute. The only drawback is that if anyone in your party has dog allergies, you may have some symptoms. The bed in the room is pretty comfortable. The pull out beds in the living room are big, but I would recommend them for kids seeing as how they are not nearly as comfortable as a real bed. Overall, the setup worked great for us and we look forward to visiting again next time we're in San Francisco. Thanks Andy
We actually stayed at Andy's place last year and I am just now writing this review. We stayed here in March of last year. We loved every minute of our stay. It is a beautiful location - you really get the feeling that you are in the heart of San Francisco. Andy was wonderful!!!! He took us on a tour our first night there to show us the local grocery stores, restaurants, bus station, metro, etc. He actually made time to meet with my husband the week before when he was there on business. They sat on the patio and had coffee and enjoyed the gorgeous view. The apartment was amazing. Huge windows with a gorgeous view. Full size kitchen with anything you could want. It was our first time using a VRBO and we are hooked. Andy has menus from all the local restaurants, maps, etc. He makes himself available if you have questions or need any guidance on your trip. We tapped into his expertise several times and were not disappointed. My husband and daughter walked to the corner grocery store each morning to pick up breakfast and our supplies for the day. There is parking close by if you have a car. Andy will pick you up from the airport - such service. We did not want to leave. It was an amazing experience. Andy is wonderful!!!! I cannot recommend this location enough. Whenever we have a chance to go back to SF, we will definitely stay here.
We loved it! It's an apartment on the top floor of a home in the Castro District. Andy owns the home and lives on the lower level. He was a wonderful host and available if we needed anything, even taking me to the airport for a late night flight. The apartment is furnished well and very comfortable. The view is breathtaking! Best of all, the shops and restaurants of the Castro are within a few blocks walk. I would gladly stay there again!
I had a wonderful time while I stayed in SF. Andy (the owner) was wonderful, he checked in to make sure everything was alright with the place and if I needed anything as well as offered transportation to and from the airport..and when my flight was canceled the Sunday I was supposed to fly into SF Andy notified me before I even knew about the cancellation.. This was a big help. Would definitely stay here again.
Andy's place was perfect for our family of four. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very spacious and great to have so that we did not need to eat out every meal. Andy was very accommodating for our needs. There was a bus stop right in front and down a few blocks was the subway. It was very easy to get around the city from this location. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had great views from his place. We can't wait to go back.
Andy was a wonderful host. He picked us up from airport promptly (despite delays at our end and was easily contactable). He then took us on a local tour (believe that!) - gave us Clipper cards (we loaded them for 7 days - excellent value). The apartment was very comfortable for (family of 3 adults) - separate bedroom with pull out sofa. The kitchen was well equipped and served our needs. The Castro neighbourhood was special. We had good transport options to downtown and a wonderful place (Harveys) to unwind at the end of the day. On one night we got a movie at the Castro Theatre (a must do - live organ music as an introduction to the movie). A bus gets you to and from the shopping area but we chose to walk. Andy lives in the floor below but our stay was extremely private. I would highly recommend staying in Andy's Apartment.
San Francisco has both bay and ocean exposure. The apartment is on a hill with a view of downtown San Francisco also has fog; layering clothing is advised. We have a great public transit system with trolley cars acquired from around the world and beautifully restored and of course the classic San Francisco cable car. We have many incredible National Parks less than one hour away and we have street fairs where artists sell their work all summer long. And with 24/7 concierge service if it can done in or around San Francisco, I can make it happen.
Other Activities: Alcatraz, Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and of course a ride on the cable car.
