About Nick Ducharme

Why Nick Ducharme chose Rocky Mountain National Park

Thanks for considering our property, we appreciate it. My wife and I love visiting Estes Park, so we purchased this home from someone who also rented it out, and she did a wonderful job of decorating and furnishing it. Fortunately for us, she handed over the reigns, and we've been enjoying renting it out since then. We've made sure every little detail is exactly how we like it when we stay there, so hopefully it will be exactly how you like it as well!

What makes this townhome unique

This property is ideal for families that like to enjoy the Estes Park downtown area, as you don't have to deal with traffic! You can walk to town or drive to the park without ever having to drive in the congested areas. Also, and hopefully you can sense this from the video, it's in a very quiet neighborhood, and you'll really enjoy sitting on the deck and looking at the mountain view!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful Estes Park house. Everything was perfect; we got married on Friday at Estes Park overlook and this trip, as well as your townhouse will always be in our memories. We hope to rent your property next summer. Thank you.

Great Family Trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this great townhouse last Winter. Everything was clean and cozy. The townhouse is stocked with anything you might need and our family enjoyed walking to town each day. Estes Park is a great little town. My kids are asking when we can go back. Thank you and we look forward to returning again soon!

Fantastic home, and even better vews!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful home in Estes Park the last week in July. We have stayed in many different homes in Estes and this one was by far our favorite. The place exceeded our expectations!

The home is much newer than you find in most places in Estes Park and the location close to town was great. We walked to dinner every night and most mornings for coffee. It is a little up the hill from town (about a 5 min stroll), but hardly noticeable compared to the hiking trails in RMNP. And the hill is what provides the fantastic views from the back deck of Longs Peak. These were truly amazing.

We also were pleased with how well the house was decorated with the many mountain home furnishings. Much nicer than the recycled furnishings you see in some rentals. The kids loved the pool table, and we loved how close it was to everything (safeway, restaurants, all the different national park entrances, etc). We will definitely be back as soon as we can. The owners were very nice to work as well and were very responsive to questions.

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this condo for a week with our 3 kids, ages 12, 12, and 6. The condo has a nice layout where the kids were all able to sleep downstairs and we all had some privacy when needed. The pool table was a huge hit for the boys and we ended each night with family pool games. A lot of the reviewers mentioned the close proximity to downtown but with 3 kids I would definitely mention that it isn't as close as I expected. You have to walk on the narrow, curvy road downhill into town and the way back up was enough to do my 6 year old in. We actually ended up driving back and forth more often and parked in the Post Office lot downtown. The house is in good condition but could definitely use some upkeep as the walls, carpets and bedding look pretty worn. The screen door was broken going out onto the deck (pretty minor but should be fixed). Overall - we enjoyed our stay and the ability to spread out and have a little more space. The house is well stocked and was very clean and organized when we checked in. We even had the pleasure of seeing an elk outside the patio one evening - a huge hit for our 3 boys!

Great Home

  • 5 of 5

We loved our visit to Estes Park and staying in your home. It was very clean, well stocked, and the location to downtown was great. A short drive to the National Park, we just loved having this house as our home base. I would definitely recommend your home to anyone going to the area.

Better than home!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home, furnished with everything you could possibly need during vacation. Really nice to have two levels, one for the elders and one w/two bedrooms for the youngn's. Pool table and TV on lower level were much enjoyed. Spent a lot of time enjoying fabulous view (and a coyote out for nightly prowl) from the deck. Fully outfitted kitchen made it easy to feed a big group. Location couldn't be better: you can walk downtown if you want, or it's easy to drive to downtown parking lots without fighting traffic. And it's a snap to drive to Safeway/Stanley Village via the back way; also easy to access either park entrance without fighting downtown traffic. Brilliant! Wish we could have stayed two weeks (or all summer!). Nick, please contact me if you need a house sitter!!!

Property was perfectly clean and as represented on website, and Nick was very helpful and responsive. All perfectly maintained (though the screen door from LR to deck was a bit stubborn--but that's a minor thing). And finally, recommendations: Baba's Burgers and Gyros (excellent, cheap burgers and Greek fries), Estes Park Pie Shop, Ed's Cantina (posole!), Mountain Munchies (chili dogs!) and the Tiki Bar (in the mountains this is undeniably goofy, yes, but big fun), Open Air Adventure Park (near the EP Brewery) for kids of all ages (our kids ages 25-29 loved every minute of it), the deck on the Brewery, Thai/Vietnamese restaurant by the post office and Molly B's for breakfast (especially pancakes or huevos!).

almost perfect

  • 4 of 5

The condo is very close to town and has a superb kitchen, with nearly every item a cook could want. we had some serious cooks along and they found all the gadgets needed.

The pool table in the basement kept the youngest in the group happily occupied.

The property was listed as having a hot tub, but there wasn't one...only a Jacuzzi for one in the master bath.

The propane tank for the grill was empty (as was the replacement in the garage).

Beds were all comfortable. the king bed is quite firm.

The downstairs bedrooms were very cool. When we turned up the thermostat, the upstairs rooms got too stuffy. We would have used the gas fireplace, but there was some peeling/flaking on the back wall that concerned me.

There is a nice sized 2 car garage with bikes, sleds, etc. Many additional items like a high chair, etc.

we didn't find instructions for the TV/DVD but we eventually figured it all out.

The dining table easily accommodated 7 for cards and games.

We did dine out one night in town at Mama Rose's. They accepted our party of 7 on short notice just before closing.

We're just a third of a mile from the center of Estes Park, close enough to walk and avoid the summer traffic, but far enough away that it's peaceful and quiet. We're also just a 5-minute drive to the national park, the historic Stanley Hotel (from The Shining movie), and the lake.
