Beautiful respite on the South Toe River

  • 5 of 5

Each year, our family of four retreat to this log cabin just before we go back to school. This year we will skip, as we are traveling across the country and back. We LOVE playing in the river (right on the property), floating in the tubes that are provided, exploring the cool, little towns in the area, hanging out in the beatiful porch that overlooks the river, and falling asleep to the sound of the babbling waters just outside our window. This is a well-appointed cabin with everything that you need to just escape the daily grind and relax.

Perfect! Peaceful and secluded.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was fantastic. Right on the river with a porch swing and a hammock. The inside was lovely with comfortable beds and just enough space. We explored the river, enjoyed the scenery and seclusion and took plenty of convenient trips to the Penland School, Spruce Pine, Asheville, etc. Lots of art, lots of charm. We loved the Mountain View Restaurant and the Mexican El Rancho in Spruce Pine. Hammond Antigues in Burnsvilleis a must visit, Ralph Hammond will make you feel right at home. Perfect cabin, perfect trip.

Absolutely Loved this Cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the cabin and it's location we are planning on renting it again. The property is beautiful, secluded and serene. The location from the cabin to shopping, dining out, exploring the many nature trails and water falls is in close proximity. The South Toe river that is located on the property provides lots of extra curricular activities. We wouldn't change anything about our stay there.

A little piece of heaven!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time at the Ferikes cabin! The property was as nice and clean as the website described. My husband was thrilled to be right on the South Toe and brought his waders for some fishing time! We will definitely be back for another stay!

Perfect mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was located close to the main road that heads to downtown Burnsville. Beautiful views of the riverfront below... we usually have trouble sleeping anywhere else, but this cabin lulled us to sleep with the sounds of rushing water. Deer were spotted everyday, we couldn't get over how absolutely beautiful it was up there! I highly recommend this cabin for a couple or small family that's looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. You won't regret it!
