We are a family that has lived in many states over the last 6 years. We purchased our house in Indianapolis when my husband lived there in 2007. The house was completely gutted to the studs (was a duplex!)and we did most of the remodel work ourselves. We take a lot of pride in this house due to the sweat we put into it, and love to share our work with visitors coming to Indianapolis. Since then we have lived in Omaha, Chicago, and now we reside in Loveland, OH. I don't want to loose touch wiht our guests, so I manage our bookings personally. However due to the geographic distance, I have a local staff in Indy for cleaning and maintenance.
Ken Nachtweih purchased this house in 2008
After our house was on the market for almost a year, we decided this was the best alternative to selling. I wouldnt look back, we love the opportunity to offer visitors a hotel alternative in Indianapolis!
Ken was great to work with. The place was clean and offered plenty of room for everyone. Blow up mattress helped for extra bed and the pack and play was great. Would defiantly come back.
Great location! house was VERY CLEAN and spacious! would recommend in a heartbeat
The owners description of "luxury" is a bit misleading. Actually it's quite tacky. The cookware is nasty and needs replaced, including the dinnerware. The appliances are either broken or don't work well. The water to the ice maker and gas to the fireplace were both turned off at the source. All of the luxury furniture are recent acquisitions from the Salvation Army. The remodeling effort is cheap and poorly done. We rented for a week and left two days early. We occasionally make a mistake , but try to never make the same mistake twice.
The house is very clean, spacious, well maintained, and the owner is easy to work with. The kitchen is well stocked, and the towels and linens are generously stocked as well. We stayed with 2 families with 3 kids between us, and we all had sufficient space and privacy. The house is in a safe neighborhood, with a park 2 blocks away, and a very short distance to downtown. I do have 2 comments to share. First, the house is fairly close (4 blocks) away from a railroad that does have some traffic through the night, so if you are a light sleeper, you might want to have a source of white noise. Second, the owner does have a laundry list of actions that you must do to avoid having your security deposit docked, including not smoking, turning down the thermostat, stripping the beds and bringing all the linens downstairs, putting all the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, taking your shoes off when you enter the house, and not accidentally setting off the alarm. It was a bit disconcerting to see paper notices throughout the house warning of fines for various infractions.
This cozy home is located really close to Downtown Indianapolis and has plenty of room and great amenities to make for a comfortable stay.
The house was great, perfectly located just outside of downtown and close to the bus, and highway. Tons of space, beds and communal areas to enjoy. I felt right at home. Although the I don't have children, I did notice additional amenities available in case you do. The large back yard and deck were also a nice touch. Ken was easy to talk and work with. If I'm ever in Indy again, I'll definitely reach out to Ken first.
