Guestbook comments from the owner

Cragg Family, Michigan

Originally from England, we've lived in Michigan now for 13 years, and were very interested to see how the US came into being. Best time was whale watching off of Plymouth Harbor, as we saw a lot! British beer pubs around here are great -- try the Old Speckled Hen Beer -- very smooth! This house is in a great location and helped us to enjoy one of our best ever summer holidays. Lots to do for all ages! The deck is fantastic. The beach is great. It was quite for us in July.

A hidden gem, and dog-friendly too!

  • 5 of 5

We had the privilege of staying in this gem while attending our niece's wedding in Plymouth. What a nice alternative to a hotel and it was only 2 miles to the reception site (Pinehills Golf Club) to boot. My husband, son and I were comfortably situated and we found the property to be immaculate and well-stocked for our weekend stay. The property is a short 2 block walk to the beach and has easy access to Boston, Plymouth and Cape Cod.

Steve is a gracious and attentive owner. We found him easy to work with and very responsive to any questions. Thank you for sharing our home with us. We will certainly return when we have more time to enjoy the area!

A great little house in a quiet, beach neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at 28th Winthrop and had a wonderful time! The home is very clean, well stocked, and Steve is a wonderful person to rent from. He provided us with 13 pages of information on the home and surrounding area before we got there. He even provided extra bikes so each of us could have one. The home is a short walk to a private beach on the bay. When we were there it had a lot of rocks. That made it somewhat hard to walk on unless the tide was out. We enjoyed the evenings there with our books and chairs. Even our dog experienced her first beach vacation! We took excursions from the house, both to Cape Cod and into Boston. We used the train to Boston which was very easy. This home is centrally located between the two areas, but that does mean you will need to drive each time you want to visit somewhere. Even Plymouth needs to be driven to, just 15 minutes up the road. There are several eateries close by the house and a Stop and Shop for convenience. Thank you for a wonderful vacation rental, Steve!

A Gem!

  • 5 of 5

This was a GREAT find! The house surpassed our high expectations and is even prettier than the photos! It is comfortable, well stocked with all that you need, tastefully decorated and IMMACULATELY clean. The location is perfect for trips to Boston, Plymouth, and the Cape. We loved exploring Plymouth, Falmouth, Woods Hole, Sandwich and Chatham and even made it to the very tip of Provincetown, but what we enjoyed most was the peace, serenity and beauty of Manomet Beach. It is a truly a beautiful, long, sandy stretch of private beach, unusual to find in New England. We also enjoyed the large front porch. The house gets excellent sea breezes throughout and even on hot days we did not need to turn on the air-conditioning.

Steve and Dina were beyond helpful and provided info on the area and details on all of the restaurants and highlighted their favorite ones. We ate well thanks those recommendations -- they made it easy to enjoy a vacation in an area we didn't know. Steve responded promptly to questions and the process of renting from was streamlined because of his outstanding service.

We highly recommend this property and look forward to returning to it soon!

Beach House

  • 5 of 5

Althought we did not meet the owner(s) I am sure he is a great guy! He communicated to us immediately each time we contacted him, answered all questions promptly about everything and offered to give us any info or help to find points of interest in the area. The contract he sent is extremely clear and everything was spelled out. The home is quite comfortable and well equipped with what we needed. There were alot of things to do and found it easy to commute to various places and close to many attractions. Only one thing, if you cannot climb stairs well it may be difficult for you to stay here although there is a bedroom downstairs, but we loved the roomy bedroom upstairs and the queen bed. The house is bright, cozy, and comfy. He also was gracious enough to allow us to bring our adult cats! I hope we left everything in fine shape, Steve ! Thank you !

Owner's Response: Ellen and her family were lovely guests! They left the house in wonderful condition. They and several other tenants this summer prompted neighbors to ask where we find such wonderful tenants. We are really enjoying being hosts with guests like Ellen and her family!

Ideal place to stay for families exploring Cape Cod

  • 5 of 5

10 good reasons why this is an ideal place to stay (or was for us anyway!) ...

1. Manomet is easily reached by car (and away from all the jams further south) and the house has easy parking off the road. 2. The house is set-back from the road so it is not overlooked and the lawned and planted garden to the front gives even more sense of privacy 3. The bedrooms have AirCon which, together with fans on both floors and netted doors and windows, keep the house cool day and night. 4. The rooms are a good size with double/twin/single bed separate rooms giving good sleeping for a family of five. 5. The house is clean, orderly and well-equipped with everything you need for self-catering and relaxing. 6. The porch is very spacious and has loads of space and seating for everyone to chill. 7. A short walk takes you to a lovely, quiet beach which is good for walking, sun-bathing and swimming. 8. There is a Stop & Shop supermarket 5 minutes down the road and there is fuel and a good choice of places to eat along the way. 9. Plymouth is within 15 mins easy drive to the north offering fine attractions to explore - the pilgrim settler story, whale-watching, eating etc. 10. The same road in a southerly direction takes you all the way round Cape Cod to Provincetown for a good day out.

Bonus: Steve and Dina leave you to yourselves but are lovely people to meet and really helpful to deal with before and during your stay.

All in all, lovely accommodation highly recommended at such a reasonable price. : )

Owner's Response: Kevin and family were wonderful guests! They took full advantage of the location to see and do all kinds of things in Plymouth, Boston and on the Cape. They left the place immaculate and adventured to New Hampshire after their stay. We truly enjoyed having them as guests and were thrilled that they came all the way from England. HomeAway enables us to meet such interesting people!
