Why Rob DeLoach, Sugarbush Cabin LLC chose Lake Lure
We love Lake Lure and Sugarbush Point Ridge with the breathtaking views of Lake Lure and the mountains! The town of Lake Lure has many unique attractions and all of the enticements of the Blue Ridge Mountains are within easy drive. This is a great place to get away as a couple, with family or friends and enjoy the the hot tub or decks with fantastic views of the lake and surrounding cliffs of Chimney Rock State Park.
What makes this Cabin unique
The home is in on a private ridge and has a large wraparound deck with spectacular views of the lake and mountains, including Chimney Rock State Park. A private deck off the loft and hot tub deck add to the secluded beauty and relaxation of this luxury cabin. A finished game room with private deck and third bedroom / bathroom also add value and comfort to your family vacation. Awake to the views of the hardwoods from the side deck and watch the parade of deer, turkey and other wildlife in this secluded but accessible area of Lake Lure.

Beautiful and relaxing!
We loved every minute. The cabin was clean, well stocked, and absolutely perfect for our short retreat. Easiest five stars we’ve ever given.
Parting is such sweet sorrow... glad we booked before this is gone!
For our second summer, we planned a girls' retreat at Sugarbush and enjoyed the awesome home in the woods of Chimney Rock. Every amenity imaginable was at our disposal... and the view out of the tall windows provides a vista of nature at its best!
Plenty of space so even during those times each of us needed some time alone, we could enjoy that, too.
Beautiful stay in a beautiful home away from home.
Wonderful cabin in a very secluded and peaceful place. A great place to recharge.
You get a lot of bang for your buck with this Lake Lure cabin. 10 minutes from Chimney Rock village, and 20 minutes from the Ingles grocery just south of the lake. Comfortably sleeps 6. We had to reset the breaker for the hot tub a few times because it kept losing heat. Fabulous views from the deck. Hikes to Rumbling Bald loop trail and Party Rock nearby. We came at the end of March and were lucky to have good weather. Check in was hassle free--we were sent a code. We would stay here again if in the area.
Relaxing Girls' Getaway
The home is located in a beautiful area, convenient to many area attractions.
Gorgeous views and enough space for relaxation. The common spaces are bit tighter than they appear in the pictures but we never felt like we were right on top of each other.
The kitchen had all the conveniences we needed and everything worked well.
I didn't receive an email discussing some of the check-in steps until after we had already arrived at the home. For example: driving directions
I would advise that if you are using GPS, once you turn onto Cut Away Rd, ours directed us to make a left onto Deer Park (I think) that was a private community. Don't do that! Follow Cut Away Rd and GPS will re-direct you. This information is included in the binder in the home but would have been nice to know while driving to the home.
Another thing to note, these roads are steep and narrow. Be prepared for windy driving around the mountains.
We were made aware of the problems that others have noted with the hot tub. The owner assured me that he is aware of it and working to rectify it. It really only affects the use of the jets, not so much keeping it warm. But be sure to check the temperature upon arriving so you can turn it up if you need to.
We did experience an issue with sheets not having been changed from a prior stay but that was resolved with running a quick load of laundry. We were offered a little extra time for checkout to compensate us for the trouble but we didn't need it because we were anxious to hike Chimney Rock.
We also suggested a more thorough run of the vacuum around some of the common area rugs in between guests. If you have kids playing on the carpeted areas, I would be sure to check before leaving them to crawl around. We didn't notice the problem until we went to do some Yoga on our last morning.
Overall, these home offered great views and quiet space for us to disconnect. No issues with Wi-fi or the TV, though we were disappointed there wasn't a copy of Dirty Dancing in the basket. We loved having Last of the Mohicans there to see the area where we had hiked the waterfalls from the movie.
We read some of the comments in the guest book about the code to enter being too long, there are directions in the binder on how to change the code-we did to only a 4 digit number that was a lot easier to remember!
I would recommend this home to small groups (no larger than 6) wanting to enjoy the area.
Thank you for your comments and observations. We have since purchased another vacuum cleaner since the other was not doing the job. And our hot tub maintenance company finally found a replacement computer control for the hot tub to take care of intermittent problems that required a reset of the hot tub for it to operate properly. We DO send out detailed directions both via email and the hospitality mobile app that instruct guests to NOT turn into the gated community, which are the same instructions as we include in our guest book. Alas, we have supplied two copies of the Dirty Dancing DVD over the years that have disappeared. Just 3 miles away you can still walk up the steps where they filmed the movie. You also can't beat the views from the top of Chimney Rock and the falls!
Wonderful cabin with an awesome view!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. This cabin is clean, beautiful, quiet, private, and well equipped for your stay. Highly recommend!
