About Richard Stamp

I am a retired business man from the POS/cash register industry. I now manage our 4 vacation rental properties and try to find time to golf and travel with my wife. My wife, Deb is a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Richard Stamp purchased this cabin in 1986

Why Richard Stamp chose Pinetop-Lakeside

The location is incredible as it backed by National forest and is at the end of a cult-e-sac. It is very quiet and peaceful with great views into the forest from the covered deck.

What makes this cabin unique

We love staying here when we can and enjoying our home away from home.

Nice cabin in Pinetop

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin in March to enjoy some quality time with my niece and her family. We really enjoyed the cabin as it had plenty of room, as well as an inside fireplace and outside fire pit. The cabin also had a well stocked supply of games for the kids, just in case you didn't bring any. It also had plenty of patio chairs for everyone, and the National Forest was right behind us. I really appreciated the fact that it was "dog friendly" as I like to bring my dog with me when possible. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is not far from restaurants and shops, as well as plenty of trails to hike on and nearby lakes for fishing. The owners were very easy to work with, and even let me stay an extra night as I just couldn't bring myself to leave for the long drive home. Although there wasn't any snow at the time we were there, the cabin had plenty of sleds to use when there is. I would definitely like to return in the winter time to enjoy some sledding, and I know that the kids would love it also.

Amazing cabin

  • 5 of 5

It was such an amazing place with great views. Not too far from things around to do like skiing, sledding, fishing, or night at the casino! It's very secluded so if you want peace and quiet you'll get it here. Owners were pleasant to work with. Can't wait to stay again!

Enjoyed out stay!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed there for 2 nights in early January. The cabin was great and very comfortable. We liked having the multiple bed and bedroom options, which is really helpful with kids. Being able to sled close to the cabin was a great bonus as well. And it was nice to be able to bring our dog with us on vacation too!

Great house, great location, great communication with owner

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for four days with friends--a total of four adults and four kids. The cabin was perfect for us--lots of space for everyone, comfortably furnished, and an extremely well-equipped kitchen. Lots of hot water and extra towels if needed. Very clean bathrooms. The housekeeping elsewhere could have been better, but really, overall, no complaints. It's just a few minutes drive from the cabin into Pinetop, and about 40-45 minutes to Sunrise Park, which is a nice ski area with runs for all skill levels. We would definitely stay here again--everyone had a wonderful time!

Greeters

  • 3 of 5

Good evening Dick.I am sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. Upon returning home it was unfortunate that we had a relative pass away, and all that took time away from me responding to you.Our recent visit to your cabin was a nice one. Unfortunately I must inform you that upon arriving to the cabin, we were greeted by little furry friends inside the cabin, such as mice. We set up traps and had to clean up quite a bit of mice droppings. Other than that we had a wonderful time. It was fortunate that we were able to trap three mice during our stay. We did not see any more or hear anymore but as you well know those little creatures have a tendency to hide quite well. Please be aware however that this will not keep us away from future visits to your cabin, as we really truly enjoy staying there. Thank you very much,. Happy holidays to you and yours!

Owner's Response: I apologize for the problem. We do have the house professionally treated, but mice can be a challenge especially when our house is right on the National forest. Once the weather turns cold, they somehow find a way in. We also have several traps set and bait boxes in the house. I will continue to monitor the situation and do everything possible to keep the little pests out of our home.

A Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

We stayed there for ten days in mid October and wish we could have stayed a lot longer. The cabin was very roomy and well maintained/stocked. It also had a very nice combination country home and mountain cabin feel to it including a warm cozy fireplace and very inviting outside fire pit (which we used several times). However, the best part of all was the solitude. There was nothing better than sitting out on the back deck in the early morning chill, drinking something warm and watching the wildlife start their day in the absolute quiet. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to "get away" for a while and enjoy some peace and quiet.
