Sea Spray Cottage #3 is perfect for those looking for a quaint space to enjoy time at the beach. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 twins. It has a comfortable living room with wide-screen TV, galley kitchen, and sweet breakfast room. You will not believe how comfortable and charming it is until you spend some time there. If you are looking for a private get away or to vacation with just your immediate family or just you and just your significant other, this is the place for you. The location can't be beat, the beach is just across the street and at about mile post 11.7 (just south of Nags Head Pier and north of Snow Bird's Soft Serve Ice Cream).
The cottage has a front porch for lounging and enjoying your favorite beverage as you watch the world go by as folks stroll, run and bike along the multi-use path that is across the street. The cottage also has a private back porch and fenced in yard. Bed linens and towels not provided. Check in is at 3:30 and check out is at 10:00.
If you find that the dates you are looking for are booked try our other cottages located on the grounds, see the link to owners website below in the lower left side of this page.
My wife, Laura Lee Garrett, has been vacationing on the Outer Banks her entire life. She introduced me, John Vollino, to the area when we were dating and have been vacationing there ever since. In 1991 we purchased our first cottage. In 2007 we purchased the Sea Spray Cottage Court. They were built in 1950; there are four cottages in total (two available for vacation rentals).
John Vollino purchased this cottage in 2007
Sea Spray Cottages were slated for demolition to clear the lots for construction of 2 large 5-bedroom cottages. We purchased the lots with the requirment that the cottages remain. With preservation in mind, our intent is that we and others can enjoy a simple, yet confortable stay at the beach in a historic property.
Cottage #3 was located close to a beach access, a delicious ice cream walk-up, and in between all the sights we wanted to see! It was very neat and the water pressure was great! There were extra blankets for couch lounging and the washer and dryer use was an added plus! The owner stopped by before our departure and was very friendly!
I took my Mom to the Outer Banks for her birthday, it was on her bucket list and the cottage was perfect!!!! The location is excellent and the accommodations were cozy! We will definitely stay there again!! It easily can sleep 4-5 comfortably! It is a pretty little getaway cottage!
I was already in Frisco with my dog and planned to stay on Ocracoke Island, however Hurricane Joaquin shut down the ferry. I found Sea Spray Cottages #3 online and called John. He was fast, friendly and efficient at making my reservation and taking payment. When I arrived, John was doing laundry and handed me fresh-out-of-the-dryer linens! The cottage was SO cute, clean and well-appointed! Friends of mine had a hotel reservation, but stopped by to check out my cottage. We toured Cottage #2 and they cancelled their hotel reservation and became my neighbor. Perfect location: we were able to walk to several restaurants, across the street to the beach and also had plenty of space in the yard for the dog. I was really impressed with the modern renovations and fixtures, yet plenty of "beach charm". The front porch was great for morning coffee and an evening cocktail. You could hear the ocean from the porch, but the cottages were quiet in the evening since they were set back from Beach Rd. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the AC worked well, and the kitchen was well appointed for our needs. The only negative was I didn’t get to use the new outdoor shower (by choice per high humidity). Although I was skeptical (I’m a shower snob) the indoor shower had great water pressure and was delightful with waterproof wooden motif. As we were checking out, John and his wife were doing maintenance, laundry and gardening. Their care and attention to detail for the cottages and guests made our stay perfect! I plan to stay here again, thanks Mr. and Mrs. Vollino!!
This was our second stay with Sea Spray Cottages. . .and it was just as great as our first! To start with, the owner is very responsive and super easy to deal with to schedule the stay. The cottage is very well maintained. You would never guess that dogs were allowed to stay in the cottages because there is no smell and no hair. The cottage was very clean. The fenced-in yard is perfect for pets. It was so nice to let our boston terrier outside and not have to put him on a leash. The location is great. You just have to walk across the street to access the beach. You are also in walking distance of the Nags Head pier (great breakfast), Snow Birds (great ice cream), and Tortuga's Lie (excellent food). I highly recommend this for small families like mine (2 adults, 1 child), especially if traveling with pets. Great, great experience!
