We have so enjoyed our stay in your yurt, and I'm truly amazed every morning by the surrounding beauty right outside your door. Thanks again for sharing your home with us - I think it's the coolest place I've ever stayed.
When we arrived the yurts had not been cleaned, we contacted the cleaning number and they took care of it while we went to dinner.
The Yurts worked out very well for us after that.
The Yurtopia was wonderful. There were lots of upgrades - radiant heating in the floors, Bosch dishwasher, walk in shower, and more. The kitchen seemed well-stocked (we stayed for two nights but didn't cook much). There is a variety of games and movies, great views, and real quiet. The wi-fi worked perfectly while we were there though we weren't planning on working while on vacation. Tip: you need to be sure the yurt window flaps are fastened down or rolled up before bedtime. Winds can be strong and will cause the flaps to snap against the yurt wall repeatedly. Wish it had a fire pit on the deck (I saw some sort of pit in the grass but with fire restrictions I would never consider it). Overall a great oasis after tent camping or whenever you arrive!
The land was gorgeous and so were the views! Loved the privacy from people and just relaxing with nature!!!
My husband and I spent two nights here with our pup on our way to Utah, and it was a unique, fun and relaxing stay. In the afternoon it got a wee bit warm, but it wasn't unbearable. Kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and equipment, but bring everything you need to cook. We enjoyed the collection of 80s and 90s DVDs, and even the VHS (wut) tapes. Our pup loved sniffing around the land and joined the nearby coyotes in a howling festival one night.
The yurt is ~10 minutes from Woodland Park, so you can get groceries or whatever else you need. Like maybe you take a hike and then want Burger King? We definitely didn't do that... nope, no way, not us.
This was the first stop of five on our trip, and we want to come back here the most.
My legit only complaint probably can't be helped, but there were a *lot* of flies. Every morning they'd collect in their fly party zone behind the curtain on the double doors and we'd let them out into the wild. They'd show back up throughout the day and buzz around, and we'd do the same thing. Meh. First world problems.
This is a mixed review since there were several good things, and several not-so-good.
First, the good: Beautiful setting, secluded and quiet (for the most part except for the loud jerks on four-wheelers in the middle of the night racing and revving up and down the road). There is not actually a view of Pike's Peak as advertised, but the scenery is beautiful nonetheless. The inside of the large yurt is well laid out and we especially enjoyed the spacious shower and the desk area and living space. The kitchen is well stocked as is the bathroom.
The bad: windows are small and do not open. They are unfinished and you can see the insulation. The deck doesn't go all the way around and there is only a small porch in back to enjoy the view. The wi-fi is extremely slow and most of the time we couldn't get on because it took forever for anything to load. It is even slower than dialup. The bed was lumpy and not very comfortable.
The ugly: this was advertised as having a washer and we planned accordingly when packing....but there is no washer. There was supposed to be cell phone reception, but there was no signal at all either inside or outside in any spot. The bed was advertised as a sleep number, but it is not.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were happy with the accommodations, but we were disappointed with the misrepresentation of several key amenities. It may not have made a difference as to whether or not we rented, but it isn't fair to not be able to make an informed decision as to whether or not it is worth the cost.
We loved the yurt -its beautiful inside out-definately luxurious-it sets up on a mountain top with breath taking views- beautiful wild flowers and aspen everywhere- we will be back to watch the elk bugle-cant wait!!
Once again Thank you!!!
