We have so enjoyed our stay in your yurt, and I'm truly amazed every morning by the surrounding beauty right outside your door. Thanks again for sharing your home with us - I think it's the coolest place I've ever stayed.
We loved getting away from everything and loved the glamping aspect of it. The yurt was well furnished and cozy. The location was perfect - both far and close enough to civilization! One downside is the place hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival - Deb couldn't do much about it by the time we notified her (~9pm) but she took care of it the next day. I'm going to finish the review with some cons to temper expectations but please don't forget that we loved this place - these were minor things we wish we knew/were different but didn't detract too much from the overall awesomeness of the place.
-Wifi/internet was slow. Cell phone signal was nearly non-existent. Google Fi users will be nearly dead in the water but it's ok, you came here to be away from civilization anyway so put the phone down and go outside.
-the plastic windows are UV damaged and not easy to see out of - if you want scenery sit on the deck.
-the yurtlette has some plumbing and electrical hidden but accessible. kids of a naughtier nature should not be left alone in there
-the pans were Teflon at some point but I think visitors have been washing them in the dish washer - bring some cooking oil
-the gravel road to the driveway and even the driveway to some extent is pretty potholed/washed out - drive slowly
It was a great home base for us for the week. Had hopes of seeing more wildlife then we did (1 deer, ground squirrels) but other than that everything was great. The only negative I could say is you can't see out the windows because there is plastic over them, it would have been nice to be able to open windows too since we were there for a hot week. The road getting to the yurt was a little rough, but they were working on it during our stay. It is definitely a place we will look at to stay again!
Great privacy. Everything was as advertised. Came feeling stressed from life's pressures, left happy and relaxed!
When we arrived the yurts had not been cleaned, we contacted the cleaning number and they took care of it while we went to dinner.
The Yurts worked out very well for us after that.
The Yurtopia was wonderful. There were lots of upgrades - radiant heating in the floors, Bosch dishwasher, walk in shower, and more. The kitchen seemed well-stocked (we stayed for two nights but didn't cook much). There is a variety of games and movies, great views, and real quiet. The wi-fi worked perfectly while we were there though we weren't planning on working while on vacation. Tip: you need to be sure the yurt window flaps are fastened down or rolled up before bedtime. Winds can be strong and will cause the flaps to snap against the yurt wall repeatedly. Wish it had a fire pit on the deck (I saw some sort of pit in the grass but with fire restrictions I would never consider it). Overall a great oasis after tent camping or whenever you arrive!
Other Activities: Canoeing, kayaking, off-road dirt biking, 4-wheeling
Golf: Full 18-hole golf course 10 minutes away.
Ski: Less than 2 hours to the major ski areas - Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, etc.
